Interesting.
Now that I've rooted with De La Vega, does it matter from here on out how it was rooted? Or is this a one and done process, never look back?

With the recent discoveries of King and vroot....what root options do we have.
It seems like we went from the gates are open to right back being bars
From what I understand the old de la vega should still work on MI9 (**just read download seems to have been pulled as well) .. don't update to MJ7 if you want to keep root..
or use other methods at your own risk to keep it apparently

I'll PM you the link to RDLV for the VZW Note 3.
someone contact designgears and see if he will allow us to post a mirror, I have the files still
So I purchased the Note III a couple of days ago and noticed it had the multitouch problems everyone was referring to. I was following a Root De La Vega guide when it said to check for this before moving forward. Moving through threads, I saw a lot of people were saying that the "new update" fixed it. I thought that this thread was referring to the MJE update, but I now know that it was referring to MJ7.
My question is, I know that you can not Odin back to previous builds from MJ7, but can you go from MJE to MJ7, then root with RDLV, use the survival mode method to keep root, then have root on MJE? If not, are there any other options other than Kingo?
The inability to go backwards was after moving to MJE, you can't go back from MJE to MJ7
I think kingo is the only root method widely available today.

DO NOT USE DE LA VEGA ON MJ7, MJE, YOU WILL END UP SOFTBRICKING YOUR PHONE, if you want root youll have to use Kingo. De la vega is meant for MI9 ONLY

You cant go back on any firmware, IE use MI9 odin or de la vega on MJ7, secure check cache fail softbrick, requires a pit flash to fix.

I know that Kingo and vroot links are banned on xda for now because there was an issue with the collection of suspicious data and due to the fact that the app connects to servers that could transfer anything to your device. Is this still the case? I know that the KingoApp team was going to fix some of the data collection, but did that update ever see a release?
Thanks for the quick responses,
Abbott

The thousand's of people that have used kingo are sure. Any time you root your device your taking advantage of an exploit. Kingo is as safe as any other root method out there.
Kingo confesses, repents.
Kingoapp posted an image on its Fbook timeline (Nov. 7 -- Timeline Photos Album, pics 7 and 8 of 17) The image is of what looks like a reply letter from Kingo specifically mentioning XDA forums, and how Kingo promises to be as open source as possible in the future. The English is, how you say, inelegant at times; and surprisingly elegant at other times. Is this something about which people already knew and didn't care? Is it a smoke and mirrors answer, or substantial?
In any case, I'm satisfied. I MUST be rid of Backup Assistant Plus! I'll keep my eye on the credit card statement.
I confirmed this news from the forum called "BAIDU", a china forum.
The method of root is to use the app called "root master". ( w w w .mgyun.com/)

have you tested it while disconnected from internet and did you monitor outgoing info and the servers it sends to?

This looks like V-root and v-root did not work for me before, I dont know if I would trust this, I will not be trying it until I know exactly what exploit it is
using to root, because I have tryed many. They would of needed to find a completely new exploit..

no... but you can try blocking all outgoing ports or seeing if it runs without internet connectivity.
in my opinion root is not worth having my device id cloned to a knockoff tablet.

I decide to keep in air mode until i can block update forever.
why don't you try it by yourself?
I successfully installed Google Play on rooted 13.3.3.2 using same files that I used on 13.3.1
All works excellent with HDXPosed
Hey,I have downloaded vroot to my computer but vroot doesn't seem to recognise my device. When i click on the green button that says "Connect device",it gives me an error message. Any help??
Which version extactly do you mean? 13.3.2.2 or 13.3.2.3.2? Because I have the newest one and it doesn't seem to work
I rooted 13.3.2.3.2
Worked for me on 13.3.2.3.2, play store and ota block installed and running fine.
Could you describe the process of rooting the kindle? I still can't seem to root it even though i have done the factory reset and enabled the adb debug. Thanks!
1: Everyone hold your horses
2: Stay in airplane mode
3: Try to find what exploit it is and or get the needed files
4: Even if you get root stay in airplane mode until fully confirmed
Don't rush it.

If that doesn't work try to Uninstall amd reinstall the Samsung USB drivers.

Look in the "Note 4 is rooted" thread or almost every other thread that mentions lagging while rooted -- it's been clearly defined as being Xposed causing it at the moment. Root on it's OWN should never cause any lagging issues like that.

Yes, everyone needs to quit asking that. And no there will most likely never be a way to root without tripping it, so just root.
