I think the intention of this thread is: Are there any Galaxy Note enthusiasts who happen to be developers intending on Rooting it.
Obviously no one has been able to root it yet..

I also like to root the thing after open the box also

my opinion: superoneclick seems saver to me. saver=no damage.

Sorry, but I can't understand if installin SuperUser app means to unroot the device.
Is it a normal app one can install with a plain OS?

im not sure, but when i understand the theard from superoneclick, there is nothing what can damage the hardware.. the root will work or not.. is that right? and the other question, how to make a save from my device if something goes wrong? i think to get it in the download mode shouldnt be a problem, i have the usb jig from s2 and i will try it out befor start whit root.. but how to get my original rom extracted and if necessary how to restore it?

you cant extract. you have to flash another firmware.
there is one to download but... will odin work? ^^

odin is in the leaked firmware, so should work.. but how to extract the currently rom and how to restore it?

Go to Samsung s2 forums for more info on rooting or else you can point the source code to chainfire i(n his cf-root thread) if he has time he will definately do it. But don't forget to donate him or whoever does it.

Not that this is a fix to the situation you were in, but stay away from places like galaxys4root and the like. Keep to xda for safer, smoother device modification. Cheers

I want to unroot. I am currently rooted but am still on the stock firmware using TWRP Recovery. I have a MacBook Air. Odin isn't compatible with Macs. I think there should be an easier way to unroot, especially if you haven't flashed any roms.

Thanks for that--thought you meant you unrooted thru the link you posted. I am on iMac so always curious about things being done on it.

None. Help test if you want it faster.

At the moment rcartaz09 and Faznx92 are right. There are no confirmed ways to root 13.3.2.1 and 14.3.2.1 just yet. If you want to stay up to date on things I recommend taking time to go through the forum for this device and read through them carefully: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2540

I was answering his question by telling him there wasn't one. I'm not upgraded so I can't test. I'm running cpasjuste's Xposed on a rom slot and my device didn't upgrade.

I was too and I caught my hdx in the nick of time to save it from upgrading, better edit your build.prop before you get upgraded

The hardest part was waiting for the Samsung drivers to install onto my laptop!
It worked..and Im rooted!
There was a warning that popped up when I opened SuperSU that says KNOXX is enabled, and asked if I wanted to try to disable. I chose "yes" and it prompted me that it is now disabled. Im not sure what that means though? I was under the impression KNOXX was here to stay?

awesome, me too, rooted now, de-bloating commences

I love coming home from the Sprint store and being able to root immediately. Here we go!
EDIT: 30 seconds later, I'm rooted.

it doesnt seem to like it when you delete system apps through TiBu, lol, TiBu crashed upon deleteing the lumina tool bar and one of the other apps, they went away though so we win, lol

So glad to have the root (it worked just like it said). Time to clean up the bloatware now. Thanks!

That disables the software side of KNOX. The part in the bootloader is still there

Fixed seems I had to put in airplane mode then back out.

Yeah I was thinking that too, just wondered why 1. The date was May 29th and 2. It didn't mention it was Dev Edition?

So I got the Oden3_v3.09, and I went for it. Got the 'Pass' and now I get a different response when I go to Superuser, "There is no SU binary installed..." and TWRP manager crashes now. The good thing is, I didn't brick it. Next idea please.

As stated above this is merely a stock ROM which is why you were able to get a "pass"
