1. Download latest version from http://download.chainfire.eu/325/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-jfltespr-jfltespr-sphl720.zip
2. Install the Samsung drivers on the computer.
3. Turn off or restart the phone.
4. If off, press and hold power + volume down. If restating just hold volume down.
5. Once you see the green Android let go and press volume up.
6. You should now see text in the upper left corner.
7. Plug phone into computer.
8. Run Odin and make sure you have a com port listed.
9. Put the CF Auto tar into the pda slot.
10. Make sure Auto Reboot is the only thing checked.
11. Click Start.
12. Don't touch the phone yet. It should reboot into a red text with red Android.
13. Once that is done and the phone reboots check the play store and install the update.
14. Reboot the phone again.
15. Test it out and see if it worked.

First maybe redownload the file(s).
Make sure you run the apps on the PC 'As administrator'
Also try a brand new USB cable and maybe other USB ports.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen issues resolved with quality brand new cables. I know you just bought yours, you've used them on other devices, this port works with... etc. But trust me just try that.
Ok tried another port and now it's stuck and hasn't moved or seen anything change just stayed on get pit for mapping

Hello,
Sorry to ask this question but I am desperate. I installed ryans oclf one click lag fix and everything was fine. accidentally I clicked the kernel portion which I shouldnt have. After I did that, phone wouldnt go pass the reboot section so I decided to do the unbrick instructions using odin.
Everything is fine and finishes the flash but when it reboots, the tombile sign shows up and galaxy s and after awhile the screen would just turn dark but the keys below lights up. I followed the instructions and I donf know why I cant go back to stock.
Please help. Learned my lesson big time.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Im going to help you out on this one, you need to flash this PDA file with odin EUGENE373_SamsungS_Froyo_PDA along with the PIT 512 you should still have from the unbrick instruction odin forum then after you flash those files you need to let it do its thing it will prob take you to recovery just long press the power button and when it turns off put the usb back in the phone to get it into Download mode(just get back into download mode any way you know how) and then follow those instructions you did earlier with the unbrick instructions using odin.
Ok...i will try that right now. I really hope this work.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
It should work man, the buttons prob won't work in recovery after you do the first flash so thats why I said to just hold that power down it will power the phone down then plug the usb back in then while holdin the volume up and down then hit power this should get you into download mode then just flash the stock vibrant rom for odin or you could use mini kies and get the Ji6 stock update from samsung

Okay, try downloading the file in 1 click root by shabby penguin. Open it and run the PDA setup so you have PDA installed. This should automatically download the drivers you need. Then back out and Go to the 1 click unroot file ( remember to be in bootloader mode) and try to run the .bat again. If not try rebooting or go in to recovery and clear cache and dalvik and try again. Not sure, but trying my best to help.

Not for those of us unlucky ones (maybe I'm the only one) that the custom recovery will NOT work for. No matter what I try, it wont mount data/recovery, so no backup can be made or flashing a custom rom. Plus I have a new problem. Had to rsd the sbf back and now I can't even gain root on the phone.

I've got the froyo on it. When trying to root, I've used the method that worked for me originally, superoneclick. It just keeps not responding on my windows 7 machine but didn't use to. As for the recovery, I did exactly as laidaxins post but it would give me that above error on the phone. I have tried getting help from laidaxin and winsuk to no avail. I even tried getting ahold of romracer to build a proper recovery since I can donate my flipside for the cause, but haven't gotten a response from him at all.
Use z4root go to 4shared.com and search for it there. Then download and install it. Make sure usb debugging is on and unknown sources is checked. Then run z4root and let it sit. Let me know if that works for you.

That didn't work either like it did in the past on my win 7 machine. The program stops responding on killing daemon server.
Superoneclick doesn't always work. That's why I recommend using other options. Also there is a one click root for the Droid x Droid 2 etc on droidforums I have used it on many different Motorola's with a lot of success.

anyway, I had the same problem but WITH the down menu.so not a solution for me.
Just write here for any future needs -- I uninstalled the drivers from the device manager, as it was showing one "Samsung blabla device"
after reinstalling the drivers (google SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.5.9.0.exe)
it detected 2 devices in Odin mode (down+up+power) "Samsung modem" and "Samsung blabla2..."
so now it detected all OK
Possible solution
Hi, I can have found the solution for this, when i conected the galaxy S4 to the computer (already on Download Mode) it pops out a message saying that the driver could not be installed, I went to the advenced and clicked on the option "Yes" and then after a while a looked to Odin 3.09 and it was with the BLUE rectangle.
Hope you understand!! Thank you all!

Ok so i just bought a new lg g2 d801.
I unlocked it succesfully, then went on to root it succesfully using ioroot.
Then I tried installing twrp using freegee and it didnt work giving me comparable results to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50501346&postcount=867
so I went on to install it manually from terminal emulator (I installed the rogers version as suggested by another user here as this is exactly my situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50502408&postcount=869
I followed this method for the code in terminal emulator:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recoveryfilename.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
replacing "recoveryfilename" to the name of the rogers .img.
Now the phone just boots normally into the stock interface but it is all glitchy, no wifi, computer doesnt recognize it and then within about 1 minutes it boots into the lg logo with the "turning on" sound randomly and keeps doing that.
adb devices gives nothing. I cant browse the contents of it but it does seem to be interacting with the computer since it is saying "driver updating... etc."
Ahhhh not too sure what to do from here.
If anyone can guide me I will be infinitely grateful, so discouraged right now.
I just want to bring it back to stock, nothing valuable at all on it, I have had it for 4 hours.
U can do a factory reset and see how it goes. Go to settings > general> backup and reset> factory reset.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I cant access any settings.
Just says: Error
In a little black box. I can browse the menus but cant actually enter into the specific settings areas.
I did factory reset from twrp which is accesible, didnt help.
Thank you though, I would love more ideas!

Absolutely discouraging. I wish I could just talk with someone right about now. I am making no progress.
Phone keeps turning on all the way through til the homepage then off again. I actually cant keep it off. It turns on by itself.
adb devices is now recognizing it but it says "offline"

Much love to all who helped.
Hopefully this works.:good:
Actually I have a question... In your link they are using .tot files. I have only ever seen .kdz files for this purpose... Am I safe to follow the procedure with a stock .kdz file?
Thanks
Ok so I have managed to succesfully reinstall the original exact videotron firmware that the phone was running just one day ago.
There is something else going on. Its still rebooting every 10 seconds, whenever there is a text input prompt the cursor goes when I press within the box but the keyboard never appears. Wifi is non functional. Imei is saying "null" now whichI find extremely worrying...
Anybody heard of this before? I would really love to understand what is happening to this seemingly incredibly fragile phone.
Im about ready to toss it in the trash.
It seems like it has a virus or something.
Every now and then during the short glimpses of functioning it undergoes, there is a small grey box that appears near the bottom that says error.
It is not recognising my sim card either.
Please somebody help me out, I am willing to pay for help at this point.
Much love,
Zach
Also, I can never close/lock the screen. If I close it, its a guaranteed reboot. Every signle time. so for the phone to work screen has to stay on. 24 hours ago it was showing absolutely no signs of any of this
