I just updated from CM10.1.3 to the CM10.2 M1 snapshot.
My lockscreen weather widget and The Weather Channel refuse to display the location-based weather unless I turn on GPS - even though I'm already allowing those apps to use wifi and mobile network to pinpoint my location.
I didn't have this issue on CM10.1.
Anyone have any idea what's going on? I just installed CM10.2 M1 on my Nexus 7 as well and it doesn't have this problem...

never mind, solved it.
I reflashed gapps and after reboot I received a prompt from the gapps asking me if I wanted to enable location. Now location reporting works without GPS.

If you are talking about the CM10.1 that just had the wifi fixed then this issue needs to be reported to the developer. The developer needs to fix this issue.

but how to report? I can't able to post any comment on Android development
I just read your first post more carefully.
The wifi was fixed by dzo. He fixed the wifi the same way he fixed wifi in Aurora ICS. Your wifi problem is also in Aurora.
The best you can do is to flash the ROM (v5 with wifi) again (do a clean install). If it still doesn't fix that problem, then tell me and I will report the problem to developer.
Thanks.

Okay, I went back to Aurora V5U21 and flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24412002&postcount=3379
the patched WLAN configuration. Everything seems work great except I set the WiFi always on but when screen off still WiFi will off, but everytime it off it will autoconnect itself without reopen the WiFi.
And also I installed a clean CM10.1 V5, and used like 1 or 2hour then the WiFi icon remain blue but without updown arrow then awhile become grey and won't auto reconnect anymore, just stay grey there until I reopen WiFi. Is not a big problem but sometimes I open WiFi wait for Whatsapp or other social apps. I don't know when it disconnect.

OK, I will report that for you to the developer.
Same here
I too experience wifi not comnnecting after sleep mode... and When connected to USB mode.. the transfer rate is around 170 kbps... Anyone hav this problem??
I have sent a message to the developer. Now, I am not sure if he will fix this problem or not. I think he will fix it because a lot of people on the development thread are talking about this issue as well.
Since we are talking about CM10.1 wifi issues, I'll state mine too.
I installed CM10.1 v7 on my U8800, everything looked ok, apart from the wifi. I could see all networks around me but the phone couldn't connect to anyone.
The same issue was present in aurora 5v20 but flashing the alt wpa supplicant fixes the problem.
I tried using the same file in CM10.1, the wifi connected but only my home's router was visible ( I should be able to see at least 5 more routers) I could not see nor connect to any other network.
Anyone know why does this happen?

I am currently on CM10.1 v9 and found out that if I enable wifi modes b + g on my router the phone connects. With g mode only no luck. I don't know if that helps you, but it is something.
I have this problem with downloading / updating apps from Play Store. Some apps (I think, random) can't be downloaded via WiFi but it works via cellular data. I don't know why and it's really frustrating.
I have Omega ROM 3.x installed.
I haven't noticed that when on stock ROM.
Cleaning caches of Play Store / Google Serv. Framework and rebooting etc. - doesn't change a thing :-/
Anyone has had that issue or has some solution / workaround?
Please, help.

I had a similar problem recently with an updated ROM, other applications were also struggling to download/upload large files and it turned out to be router MTU was set too high even though other devices on my network were running fine.
Thanks for reply.
Strange thing is that other Android devices on my Wi-Fi network can download these apps that I cannot with no problems. I will check if this is MTU issue and let you know.

The problem persists What value of MTU did you set your router to?
My TF300T cannot get a location indoors when wifi is the only source of location information. Google Maps (and any other location-aware app) says "location unavailable" forever. The wifi data connection works fine. High accuracy location is enabled in system settings.
If I take it outside, GPS locks in under a minute.
I have installed several ROMS, stock and CM-based, done several complete data/cache/dalvik/system reformats, and the problem persists.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Same problem for me with maps, earth, weather widget etc...... I use the official cyanogen on my tf300tg.
I'm not sure what the problem was, but I did a fastboot restore to ASUS stock firmware, and now wifi based location services works fine again.

Hello everyone,
I'm currently on 4.4.3.
When I connect to a Wifi (in my home and other places), it's all working well..
Until after some time (could be minutes or hours), the Wifi icon turns orange and I can't access the internet.
The only way I can access the internet again is by turning off and on the Wifi (or on and off the airplane mode).. and then the whole story starts again.
I've been facing this issue for a long time now (I actually think it started when the 4.2.2 update arrived), and didn't find any solution for this yet.
The only clue I managed to find is that it's somehow related to the Google Play Services.
Here are some screenshot I made on the Google Play Services screen (by dialing *#*#426#*#*):
When the Wifi is working and has internet access [White icon]:

When the Wifi stops working and there's no internet access [Orange icon]:

Thank you so much,
Tommy
anyone?
When your phone doesn't have access to Google's services the WiFi and network icons turn orange.
If you, for example, try to force an OTA you delete the Google Services Framework cache and data. You can immediately see that the icons turn orange because your phone doesn't have a connection anymore with the Google servers.
If your icons turn orange and it's bothering you(not able to use the Play Store, or any other reason) I suggest to remove and re-add your Google account in your device its settings.
If you need more information let me know!

but actually when the icons turn red - I cannot open any website via chrome.. so not only the google services won't work, but my entire internet connection doesn't work... not the browsers, not the whatsapp, and not any other "internet" application

Happens to me sometimes also. It's when your phone has a connection with your access point(router) but doesn't have internet(due a router timeout for instance).
It's very irritating but turning off my WiFi and turning it back on always works for me!

For me either, but it looks like an annoying bug So this is the issue I'm looking forward to fix somehow
Radio
Did you flash the new 1.02 radio? When you're rooted you manually have flash the radio.

I flashed 4.4.3 using the flash-all.bat file. didn't it flash the 1.02 radio by using this file?
hmm dunno..
I've never tried that method. You can check the version in settings, about phone, smallband version (beneath 'android version') (translated from Dutch), the last three digits are the version of the radio (for ex. .84 .98 1.02).

seems like it did install the 1.02 radio
As mentioned orange icons tell you there's no connection to the Google servers.
But your problem seems to be between your device/router as you can't access the internet at all. Does it happen on other WiFi or mobile data?

Is there any way to debug this?
Does some log (logcat?) can contain information regarding this issue when it occurs?
Unfortunately it still happens
anyone?
Turn your router off for about 5 minutes and turn it back on. This should fix it.

That's a temporary fix.. the issue keeps happening
I'm bumping this.
Happens to me on two nexus 5's and a nexus 4. Apparently it started happening after I replaced my router, but I still haven't found a setting in the router that fixes the issue. At least I can verify this is a router issue.
Basically, my nexus 4 is running Paranoid Android Beta 4.6 and there is this weird issue wherein the wifi is functioning, like it connects to my wifi and i can use it for most apps but the wifi icon stays brown instead of turning white like it usually does, and because of this the play store wont open, it opens i mean, but it doesnt connect. is their any one else with this issue? is there a way to fix it? This started happening recently i flashed my rom around 10 days ago.
Try reflashing the ROM, if that doesn't work then flash the latest radios drivers along with it. Probably the ROM is having trouble communicating with the WiFi driver. Also check your external modem internet speed, if the phone doesn't detect a fast enough connection the indicator won't turn white
