What are all the settings to keep WiFi from auto activating?
This is driving me crazy.
I think you go into your WiFi, press menu, advanced WiFi, and uncheck the box that says notify me when WiFi is available or something along those lines. Hope that helps.

Here's my issue. Calls won't come through when an app on my phone is using the 3g data connection. I've figured out its the DDTM setting under "Call Settings" in the settings menu. When its turned on, the calls get sent to voice mail. The problem is that each time I uncheck the box, it gets turned back on by any app that uses data. There's not a problem when I'm connected to wifi or when I'm on 4g. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
I'm using the stock EHO6 Gingerbread leak, rooted with the EH06 AIO Mod installed.
Update:
The problem seems to have fixed itself with a reboot. Not sure what was going on, but the ddtm setting is now working properly.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to shut off WiFi and Data and only use when I enable them. No Matter how I have the Data setup, when I turn off Wifi, Data connection turns up.
I would like to have them only enabled when I want them enabled.
Any way to do that?
You can use widgetzoid to set a togglebar for wifi/data.
I prefer using 'wifiwidget' for wifi because it shows the connection point and speed. I use widgetzoid for all my other toggles though (bluetooth/gps/etc)

Both of these are great little apps. But still the same problem. If I switch off WiFi, data comes on. I can switch it off with the widget and it pops back on. If the data is on, I can toggle it, but it just pops back on. If I turn on WiFi, data stays off.
To turn off 3g mobile data and only use wifi (when on), just go to Settings>Wireless and network > Mobile networks then uncheck "Use packet data". If you want to use it again just check it back on.
Apps can do it but I prefer to just use the settings.
The easiest way to turn wifi...just disable it from the 'notification menu'..
as for 3g or data services...long press the power/lock key till a menu pops up and select 'Data network mode'...this disables/enables it..

Where is the Auto-Network Switch located in Settings ? In my WIFI settings I have no ADVANCED setting to check, only a "Notify me" setting is present. Under each network connection there is an advance switch but it doesn't have anything for auto-network.
Started getting "unstable network" errors and I notice the device is scanning every 5-10 seconds even though my wifi signal is very strong.
You don't have advanced when you hit the menu button? That's where you'll find the auto network setting...

Menu button within Setting didn't dawn on me but yeah it makes sense, I guess. Thanks given.
When I check the Auto Network setting box, I disconnect from my wi-fi entirely, even thought I am right in front of it.
Any other ideas of how I can get rid of that 'Your Internet connection is unstable,..' notification?
Thanks!
This is pretty irritating it has stopped me from connecting to a "slow" wi-fi network when I had 0 cell signal

Ah, I posted a separate thread about this. I am receiving the unstable connection warnings as well, also with good signal (or certainly should be good signal where I'm located relative to the routers).
Wonder if some of us have bad phones in this regard .. will have to keep watching for others with the issue / possible solutions.
I turned off the setting that says "Always allow scanning" and "Auto network switch"....but it still constantly scans for new wifi networks - even if I'm already connected to a wifi network with a very strong signal.
This can't be good for the battery.
It is actively scanning because you pressed the wifi button and it correctly assumes may want to select another wifi connection.
It doesn't scan every few seconds when you are not on that settings screen.

Hi,
Go to Setting>wifi, tap menu soft key>advanced>switch off scanning always available. Beware, Google Now location service will not be so accurate after this.
Cheers!!
When I am on WiFi connection for some time, data connection will turn itself off automatically and won't turn back on when I am out of WiFi range. So if I forget to turn data on manually, my email etc won't update and I have missed important business emails that way. Anyone else have this issue and what to do? Let me add that I don't have battery saving mode turned on.
This is not a issue it's a feature, turn on switching in wifi settings so when are not in wifi range it will switch automatically to data.its called smart network switch.

I switched the suggested setting on but the problem persists.
I am pretty sure this has been going on since the latest OTA update.
Definately OTA update caused it. Fa tory reset fixed it.
