Hi all,
My GT540 got bricked while flashing a V20B Rom. Now its not starting at all. No power+anything, no battery-in battery-out trials work.
Any ideas before I take it to the LG repair center because my LG repair center is in another country (lool) ??
Try to boot your phone into Emergency/Download mode (VOL DOWN + POWER). If the phone booted into Emergency/Download mode, launch KDZ Updater.
In TYPE dropdown menu, choose EMERGENCY
Make sure you use the USB on back of PC if using desktop. Another thing to try is take the battery out before plugging in USB should download drivers maybe not much help but one step closer to working phone.

Thank you guyd for the suggestions. I am so much beyond this stage now. The phone is not turning on in any mode. Nothing at all.
Taking it to the LG service center is a real trip to another country now.
Plug phone into computer without battery In what dose it do? you should get animation of phone with back cover sliding up? Leave it for ten minutes make sure your internet is connected,then put battery back in make sure it's got at least 70percent charge, then connect phone to computer and put into download mode power and press volume down....

Unfortunetely, the only way to fix your phone is to give it back to LG Service, they will provide you with new one if you have waranty, it happened to me once when i was flashing my phone and my pc restarted :S
You have killed the bootloader, you could fix it by youserlf of find a programmer with special device to flash a bootloader back into the phone :s
Charge your battery and try all again kdz is your best bet if no fastboot screen !!!good luck!!!

The point is You cant charge your phone, you cant turn it on, you cant boot into fastboot/download or any other mode, PC dont detect your phone. PHONE IS LIKE A BRICK, dont react to anything... This happened to me once, the only option for him is to give the phone to LG Service. They will replace it, he accidently killed the bootloader like i told in a post before.
@deamonjones Nothing happens when I plug it to the pc or the chrager. With or without the battery.
It requires a JTAG device to re-write the bootloader.

This is a much more clearer way to do it. And the device is not so expensive. But I really don't have the time to do it as it requires too much timeand accuracy.

Hi everyone. i take my friends lg gt540 last night to install the cm7 rom so i folow the instructions in that page and when kdz starts flashing stucks and gives to me a error. trying to get phone to download mode but the phone was dead no download mod kdz cant find the phone couse is like no battery connected. i follow all instructions in modaco everything. the prob is that i cant get the phone to download mode even drivers are installed even connected from back to usb port.
please dont tell me that i must take it to lg for fixing it. no waranty he bought it from a tourist really cheap nm.
maybe solution is to find a way to get to download mode.(volume down+power doesnt work,volume down+usb cable doesnt wok,no charger signal)

try using KDZ emergency mode maybe will work.. I forgot about how to flash KDZ since I dont use it much
try putting it on CS_EMERGENCY,this is for non working phones. do you hear sound when you connect your phone to pc?
No imagine a phone without battery. I try everything. So when i connect to pc must doing a noise? about kdz cant use it couse show me phone not found error. I will give a last try

i try everything in a net coffee installing lg drivers only and used the instructions. yesterday i install and lg program disable modem still no luck. so if phone just doing that noise means that is connect it but how must kdz find the phone if the phone is not installed. (i mean not the lg drivers but the phone when is in usb debaging smth is installed in pc from phone) i search everywhere and everybody can get to download screen exept me grrr is not my phone orelse i will throught it from the window. so if the the noise is ringing means is connectid no need for download screen? thanks you and sry for my english!
you need that sound and download mode unfortunately. try installing new drivers and new KDZ and try again. if not take it to the LG service. do you have recovery installed?

No I though that no recovery needs to instal cm or alse i rooted and install rom i give last try and report if works thank you!

as far as i know its power + camera button.
Hold them down until backlight comes on. If you need it fixed by LG just lie about what happened. Dont tell them it died when you were installing a custom rom. Also from what i understand you cant get it to even turn on in any way? Or connect to a computer?

well i cant find where is the rom that i download but i remember that the rom from cm7 (v20a20) was smaller than the rom that i download from mediafire (i used google search the name of the rom and i realise that is 2-5 mb bigger) i didnt want to w8 to appear the download link so i thought will be in another page. well the phone is been sending to my friend now and w8ting. if he find a solution i will post it. thank you
It appears like am in serious trouble. i installed a LED notification APK posted by someone in a separate thread. The installation went normally but when it came to restarting the phone it went grey and wouldn't restart. After i removed the battery to start manually,it didn't come on. its been dead and shows no sign of life. it cant charge and the computer doesn't see it. the button combinations also don't bring up emergency mode. so am seeking for help if anyone can help me.

than flash stockrom with KDZ

Tried this numerous times cant get into emergency mode. Is there any other method that i can try ?

Thanks for answering but the phone is completely dead and not responding to any of the suggestions made. I am not sure wheather it is me who is not doing it correctly but am now heading to the outlet where i purchased from, as it is still under warranty. I hope they will assist me without unnecessary complications.
as regards to the suggestions given it appears like they work under certain conditions not all and we need to find out what these conditions are.
Edit. What eventually happened is that I took my phone to lg service centre as it was still on warranty.They changed the board .
Problem was solved through service centre. The board was replaced. My imei is now different

I have an Android LG optimus L5 II. I accepted the android upgrade (about 'applications') and now I can't turn on my phone; it's stuck on the 'SRF' logo just after the 'LG' logo. It works but don't start. Please, help me...
Is your phone rooted? And does it have cwm installed?
You may have bricked it but thats not a big deal, the first thing you can trie is to press volume down and the home button, and press power, as soon as your phone vibrates let go of the power button and keep holding volume down and home button. Let go after 10 seconds, your phone shuld factory reset, if it does let it boot. Leave it for 5 minuts on boot. If it wont boot after that, youll need to download kdz to your PC and flash the original OS.

I tried what i could but it still stuck on the logo....
Uh volume down is a very big problem, you cant go in to recovery or in to download mode to fix your phone.
You can fix all software problems by your self, but all buttons need to finction.
Im sorry to say you may need to go and fix your button befor you can fix your boot problem.

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see the "II", my bad. But you can try the same for your model.
Actualy just fornd out to factory reset it you just need hold vol up and vol down at the same time and press and hold power till the phone vibrates, but you still need the vol down button.

Ok, thanks for your answers, my ultimate solution is in unbrick my phone with KDZ, but, according what i saw (maybe i'm in a mistake), i have to get the OFFICIAL rom of my LG E460 from France: I search but I only find dead links....

At step 20, I don't have the "Select country and language" window: it opens the LG update tool but without anything,... I think i've done the previous steps correctly...
Make sure you installed the driver for your phone from lg on to your pc.

I did. I don't know why it opens the LG Mobile Support Tool isteed of the Languages window ...

Ok, so I connected my bricked LG phone, then I started the 'Automatic Offline Procedure' and set "On" on the Windows Enabler, R&D Test Tool opened, I put the .kdz, click on "Normal Web Upgrade" then "Uprade start".
And the LG Mobile Support opens itself insteed of the LG Flasher, without possibilities: I've already download the drivers on this one: and now I can't see those drivers anymore if I remake this procedure (as you can see on my screen).
I've also downloaded "LGUnitedMobileDriver" for my phone just before that. So I don't think it's a driver problem ...

Try it with one of theas links, befor you use them, re install mobile drivers, btw if you dont see mobile drvers runing or installed in programs see if thay show up when you enable LGmobile modem.
im not sure any of this will work i have the 1 l5 but it worked for me.

hello guys i got this phone of a friend, lg l5 e460, he gave to me to check if it can be fixed but after a fast vision i'm totally mad with it... can't boot recovery or download mode.... all i can see is : connecting it to the pc via usb cable i found this

does the lg logo show up when you conect usb?
If so you can try to remove the battery, hold the button combination for recovery and conect to the charger or usb. Dont press power button at all. Just the combination for recovery.

I already tried that... i also tried home button + volume button, also camera button + home + volume, with battery and w/o battery via usb, nothing seems to work :S

you may have a hard brick, that cant be fixed. Only if you send your phone to LG.

well if you can get it in download mode some how you can flash kdz.
But dont know how.
You can try to remove bat and hold the vol down button. (I think thats how you enter download mode) and conect the phone to the pc.
Nvm if it wont show download mode on the phone just try flashing kdz.

HELL YEAH, I DID IT !!!!!! Something is changed now, i tried to pull out the battery, after i've installed LG USB drivers, holding Vol+, Vol- and Power Button i plugged in the USB clabe (WITHOUT BATTERY), now the screens is stuck @ the LG logo with " => Download Mode" in the corner
So... what come next? i guess i need this kdz... mmh... i think i need some googling

yup you have the kdz instructions here on xda for L5 2.
just google kdz for l5 2 youll find the instructions. Its all easy after that.

I'm stucked, draggin "automatic Offile procedure.vbs" on the admin cmd, i put the kdz file, RECOVERY mode then "Normal web update test"->"Upgrade Start", then LG MOBILE support tool starts and after he recognize the phone it crash... May it be something wrong with the OS im running on? i'm on W8.1 64bit... sorry for my english
No its not the os, right click on my computer find advanced and unfer modem disable lg mobile modem then restart your pc.. And check if you installd kdz and every thing thats needed corectly.
Also activate windows enabler.
