Do all HD2's have 576RAM?

Hi Guys,
Looking to buy a new HD2, just wondering that whether they still carry the hidden RAM? Has anyone brought one recently?
Yes, all HD2s have 576MB of RAM as long as you have the right ROM and radio.

That's not correct.
The PRO THREE's (Prototype HD2's) have 320/340mb RAM.
LEO 1.5 (TMOUS) have 1024MB RAM.

Yep, just not out of the box. You need the right combination of rom and radio to unlock the extra ram and bring it to 576mb from the default of 448mb if I'm not mistaken..

Since the OP started "Looking to buy a new HD2...", exactly how are the original prototypes relevant to the thread?

which you can see if you click the little arrow next to the quoted person's name (your name) (it takes you to the original quote).
Anyone know why they disabled it?
Is there a rom out there that only enabled the 576mb, and nothing else?

But it's absolutely correct because it's an answer to the OP, which clearly relates only to new HD2s. Maybe you missed that.
But only new US HD2 have 576MB RAM out the box, all other retail HD2s (not the pre-release) need to the right radio/ROM
So in a nutshell, all new retail HD2s have the RAM but only the US one is activated out the box
please help... on my phone it says total storage capacity 181.47... and total program memory 336.93... how's that... i bought the phone from orange romania... and this is after a hard reset... although in the about page it says... 448 RAM and 512 ROM...

512 rom - minus the space the rom and the radio take up, also minus thee space the rom uses when it installs after a flash.takes about 250-350 meg which leaves you around 200 meg storage space.
448 ram - minus 128 meg for graphics =320 meg program memory.
your figures are exactly what a stock hd2 should show.

thanks... it's a relief... i saw cooked roms with much more free memory and i thought it was something wrong with my hd2 due to the fact that was bought from an operator

Do NOT flash that rom from sd card.

Its 759 mb. To be expected. Some of it used by system, same way that only about 11.5 gb of the 16gb in your tablet is usable by you.

im running stock jellybean 4.1.1 firmware. It didnt update OTA so i used Kies on my PC (Kies is bugged as hell so anything i tried it wouldnt update on the PC (kept crashing etc), i then used the GF's macbook pro, updated straight away) try updating if it lets you, it might address more memory then?
you see things like this in windows aswell, when the system memory is shared with the video "card" a certain amount is allocated for the video "cards" processing abilities and it not available to the rest of the system. Perhaps that is what is happening here.

There already is a thread for this here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41500409 . There's even a quantitative answer hidden in some development thread I couldn't find. The summary is that we do have 512 MB ram but some of it assigned to the gpu. There is only one variant which has 4gb internal rest are all 2gb.

That was posted before the 128gb came out
512 GBs too much for the S4 it allows only 64 GB. And the S5 allow only 128 GB on external SD Card...

This website claims that 128gb is working
http://androidforums.com/threads/li...-with-128gb-microsdxc-card-by-sandisk.832403/
The specs only say 64gb because that was the maximum storage on a sd when the s4 came out.
So it will probably just work, just nobody tested it yet.

you´re right, may be it´ll work, but he´s looking for 512 GB and I think that wouldn´t supported by the S4
Well someone just have to try and see

Do the 6gb and 8gb have different memory management values in Oxygen OS?

Otherwise what's the point?
I hope it's at least improved over the OP3/T in Oxygen OS.

It may, depends on your usage. But the other point is the extra storage (128GB). So you are getting a little more for your money.
In my case the 8gb one is just spend more money, 64gb is enough for me
