+1

on model SM-N900V if you take back cover off, by the SIM chip you will see letter R and L. What do they mean? It cant be just left and right because on motherboard they are identical pieces

[Q] Squares in the screen.

Hello!
I have a Nexus 4 and I saw now that I can see squares in the screen of the Nexus when it turned off.
I can really see them clearly.
What is that? Is my Nexus 4 is defective?

its not defective unless your touchscreen is not working..
those lines that look like circuits are the touch sensor or something like that..... you can only see then with the screen off and in the right angle...

Is there a Nexus 4 phone that the pattren is less visible?
I compared with a friends phone and his does not have this pattren so clearly.
Btw,
If I change the phone's gamma with a kernel and then I back to stock, the colors goes back to the original?
And if I undervolt the phone and then I go back to stock, the settings of volt goes back to the original?
Is changing the colors can damage the screen in the long term?
We just got a new nexus 4 in the family today, rev11, and it also has this chequered pattern visible with the screen off. We have 2 original rev10's that don't have this.
Guess it's supposed to be like that.

How to know on which one am I ? I just bought the phone some like 2 weeks back. But didn't from play store, but rather from a local re seller.

Boot to the boot loader.. From power powered off state, press volume down button, then press it again with the power button and hold them both down until the boot loader screen comes up. There you can see what revision your phone is.

Mine also have a very tiny circular chip in the left lower bezel. I don't think it was a traumatic one as it arrive with it when brand new. I was gonna ask for a replacement phone but fear the new phone might be even worse with the button problems etc.

I tried to get a replacement from Vodafone Australia and they recommended me to get back to the shop to have the phone checked and inspected. I felt it might be hard to get a replacement as the chip was very tiny (barely visible 2mm max and only at some certain angle), so I accepted a $60 credit as a compensation - to get a case to cover the defect! For $60AUD I'm happy to keep the phone which is otherwise perfect. :victory:

My phone has a pretty sizeable chip on the top left corner. Never been outside a case so it can't be trauma.
Mine has a super small circular chip on the top right bezel.

[Q] Galaxy Note 3

Hey Fellow Enthusiasts,
I dropped my Note 3 two days ago, with a case obviously. There are no damages, but I'm just afraid the impact will cause the hardware parts to go loose, like you know I'm afraid the parts on the mainboard/motherboard of the phone will go loose. Can you guys tell me whether it will go loose because I'm really worried about my phone.

I dropped it from around chest/shoulder height, I'm around 5 feet 8. Will the drop cause the hardware parts to go loose? Like will the parts come off?
Dropped mine protected by a Spigen Slim Armor case about 3-4 feet to concrete. Not a sound and it bounced 4"......works as well as or better than new. There is zero visible damage.

You droped it with case on and not from a big height. Dont worry it would have done nothing to hardware.
Do you hear sounds of parts moving or you phone feels glitchy when holding it?
Sent from Galaxy Note 3 SM-9005
Don't worry about the parts on the inside, unless something is not working you don't have to worry, pretty much everything is either solded or attached with screws. Takes a lot of force for something to actually go "loose" from the outside.

Stop being so paranoid - you dropped it and you seem to have had no ill effects.
Nostradamus isn't currently an xda member - I think he was banned for future trolling - so no-one here knows what is going to happen to your device in the future.
If it suddenly stops working in some way, you may have damaged it. Until then, stop worrying, use your phone and stop with the "will-it-won't-it" posts - they're pointless.

[Q] Use galaxy s3 screen on neo

Hi, my S3 NEO fell to the toilet, i had it cleaned in a store - but the screen still comes and goes(mostly goes), i want to check if it is a screen problem, and i have a regular galaxy S3, if i connect the screen of the s3 to the neo in order to check if it it a screen problem(and not a motherboard problem), just the little cable, will it work? or can it harm the screen/phone?
thanks!
I think you cant use s3 screen, every screen is different.

You think? or are you sure? if the connector is the same... i don't want to replace the screen with s3's screen, just to check if it is a screen problem, so it doesn't have to be the same size, just the same connector. my question is - is it the same? and can it harm my phone/screen to try it?
On your place i wouldnt risk ...

Ok. Thx for trying to help. Is there anyone that can give a clear answer?
I am almost 99 sure you cant use s3 screen since we dont have kernel support for it. I know on my old device (ACE 2) we had 2 variant of screen and both had to be enabled on kernel. I think it is clear evidence not to try s3 screen.
