What kind of apps are you talking about?
i meant not just free apps which are in marketplace but even the apps that costs in marketplace (same like installus or cydia in Iphone).
thnx in advance
Don't be such a tight a*s and put your hand in your pocket - it's not as if apps cost the earth!
To expand on ineedtoys' point..
XDA sometimes shows things that might not be 100% in adherence to the provider of the phone/OS. This is done to further functionality and support of the phone. It does not involve ripping off other people's work.
In fact, by ripping off paid-for software, whether using information from here or not, you're actually doing XDA Developers harm. If Microsoft see the XDA community as a threat of piracy they will invest more time in securing the OS and probably litigation.
So to conclude:
"Don't be such a tight a*s and put your hand in your pocket - it's not as if apps cost the earth!"
Very easy go to the market place and download from your phone

Don't be so smart, what if I cannot buy any application because of stupid politic of Microsoft? I can afford to buy some original application, but Microsoft does not accept my credit card.
I have been getting questions from people on whether they should use some kind of Antivirus software on there Android device. I thought I should just post it out here and let all the experts chime in with an opinion. Personally I haven't used anything since the first day I got my Glacier.
I think it would depend on the person. I flash a new ROM fairly often, wiping my phone before I do it, and don't have many apps. So personally I don't use one. Some people keep the same ROM for months or years, have tons of apps and download a lot of files - music, games, videos, etc. These people probably should use an antivirus. Those are the extremes.
If you don't do any banking, bill paying, or other things involving sensetive information I don't see a need either. My 2 cents.

*unix based systems, such as Linux Computers/Apple & iOS/Androids are very hard to write a true virus for. Since the information is stored in such a way a virus really cannot do anything harmful.
With that being said MalWare does run amuck on these devices. It might be worth looking into solely for that fact. Like LookOut or Avast. But if you never see a warning for viruses don't be surprised.
Same ROM no online banking
I've had the same ROM for a while and don't do any online banking on my Android devices.
I guess it would depend on how much you use the Unknown Sources feature and where you browse.
I don't think there is any browser attack in existence on Android. These programs are mostly used for preventing malware installation, and if you know what you're installing - you shouldn't ever need antivirus. There are no "viruses" per se known so far, AFAIK, only malware.
Thanks
Thanks for everyone's input. I finally installed Avast on mine just to get a feel for it, being that I am flashing new Rom's on it so often, it won't last long.....
Give me some anti viruses which r compitable with Windows 8 Pro..I installed Avast! and windows started causing problems ..I know that problem is because of anti virus...I have faced it earlier with Avast but this Win 8 compatible Avast also dint work!!..so tell me any anti virus which actually work?
I tried installing avast earlier today, caused no issues.
Are you running 32 bit or 64 bit windows?
I have been running avast since windows 8 debuted and I have had no problems what so ever

Eset Smart Security (for an internet security suite) or Nod (for just AV).

Juuuuust making sure.... you are all aware that Win8 has built-in AV, right? And before anybody trots out that AV test score, the company that produces it is funded by commercial AV makers, and the impartiality of both their testing methodology and ranking system (for example, the relative weights they apply to false positives vs. false negatives) falls somewhere from "I'm skeptical..." to "and if you believe that, I've got a lovely bridge to sell you at a truly excellent price!" among members of the (independent) security community. That doesn't (by any means) mean that Windows Defender (in Win8) / MSE (in earlier versions) is the best option - if nothing else, there are definitely many different ways to define "best" (how do *you* weight false positives vs. false negatives, and proactive scanning vs. performance impact?) - but please make at least a minor attempt to think for yourself as to why you believe you need a third-party AV.
Also, if you do install third-party AV, make sure Defender is shut all the way down. The OP is definitely not the first person I've heard about having usability and performance problems with Avast! on Win8 (is that you, cuz?) and the most likely reason that comes to mind is the old "two AV suites fighting over the same files" issue.
Microsoft security essentials is what I normally prefer to use, does the job and I am pretty careful about downloading things etc.

MSE is NOT for Windows8. Note that Windows8 comes with "Windows Defender" inbuilt!
BTW:
A comprehensive list of Windows 8 compatible AV-progs you find here:

MSE and Defender have been rolled into one product.....
Ok...I am having 32bit.....and its a pirated one.....So Windows Defender can't remain updated....That's why opting for a new AV....I have been using Avast! for 2 years in my last Win 7...Its quite good!
So tell me shutting down Windows Defender first and then installing Avast! will do it?
Months back I upgraded my Win7 to Win8 Pro...First boot went well...but after a while....it started causing probs...Win8 starts in their metro look first....PC worked fine till coming of metro and then suddenly display goes black and u can only see cursor moving.....I researched about this...And I booted my PC in safe mode and uninstalled the AV ie Avast! ...then PC started running fine.........A week ago I thought Avast! would have made a Win8 friendly version....after installing ...same prob happened.....now this time recovery mode didnt show startup options...so i had to refresh my PC causing all my installed Applications removed....(just a bit of history )

We do not endorse piracy. Thread reported to moderators.
You will not get help here. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.
You also need to swing buy and pick your self up a computer that is running windows OS to ensure that your warranty will be good. Hmmmm... Didnt know that when I picked up my OnePlus that later had problems. This seems like a bad decision now.. I have had other phones that had problems and also was under Warranty.. A quick phone call and box shipped.. Phone sent out.. No problems. But OnePlus wants me to run around asking to borrow a computer and than ask "hey, do you mind if I open your computer up to a complete stranger for a remote session?"
I am now a single parent of 3 kids.. My Linux lap top has been turned into a kids toy and is nothing more than a place for them to play games on.
One plus wants me to have a remote session late at night where I would have to find a working computer and drag out my kids with me to have my phone checked!! This is crazy!!! Remember this when you consider your purchase, visit this "family like community" forums and beg for a invite!!
This is kinda like a slap in the face!! I was here looking for an invite to by my OPO.. Put off buying a nexus 6 .. Telling other people about this new phone coming out the "OnePlus 1"... This seems so wrong!!
Not totally sure what the point of this thread is. Most power users have a laptop or PC to augment their smart phone, whether it's a OnePlus, HTC, Samsung or Motorola device.

hi guys ive installed malware bytes and its picking up some malware ?
this is from a factory reset too can anyone else run the same and see what happens plz
Hi there,
I have read on a variety of reviews (such as Amazon) with people stating they have malware on their Axon 7 mini from brand new. A lot of people have returned the phone because of the malware, I suggest you do the same (if there is some malware found) as the phone has 2 year warranty.
I didn't actually take the initiative of running malware when I first got the phone (back in January) so now I installed it and ran it, its showing me 1 malware issue and I have contacted the company who I purchased the phone from to ask for assistance.

thanks m8 yeah thats the very same screen i got.
carphone warehouse are terrible for returns beside ive had a few months now
The problem with malware bytes is that it can read some of the programs used by android such as the radio interface systems (the way your phone talks to the network) as malware as these programs do not get digitally signed or verified by people like Norton or the like. This would mean they show up as malware. This is not uncommon and I have had the experience of this on nearly all my mobile devices.
It could also show a program as being malware if the program had been sideloaded into android after the original build had been finalized due to its "unsettled" nature within the OS as a whole. I wouldn't worry to much about it. If your worried, simply install a virus protection and firewall app and use it to ensure your systems and information safety.
Hopefully, when the noobs and eejits at ZTE decide to deign us with the Nougat update (fingers, toes, hairs, eyes and the like crossed here), it should clear up the issue for you.
I'm not so sure this is completely innocent. There are plenty of articles out there which shine a light on the practice of manufacturers installing surveillance malware. The first page of Google shows this and mentions ZTE:
