[Q] Lg E900 cracked apps - Optimus 7 General

Hi,
I just bought a new WP7 LG optimus E900, but i don't know how can i install cracked apps like Iphone or android mobiles have, because till now i was using both of these phones but i just wanted to try WP7, so if anyone can help me and guide me how to install cracked apps.
hope on your help
p.s my lg is factory unlocked (works with every operator)

What kind of apps are you talking about?

i meant not just free apps which are in marketplace but even the apps that costs in marketplace (same like installus or cydia in Iphone).
thnx in advance

Don't be such a tight a*s and put your hand in your pocket - it's not as if apps cost the earth!

To expand on ineedtoys' point..
XDA sometimes shows things that might not be 100% in adherence to the provider of the phone/OS. This is done to further functionality and support of the phone. It does not involve ripping off other people's work.
In fact, by ripping off paid-for software, whether using information from here or not, you're actually doing XDA Developers harm. If Microsoft see the XDA community as a threat of piracy they will invest more time in securing the OS and probably litigation.
So to conclude:
"Don't be such a tight a*s and put your hand in your pocket - it's not as if apps cost the earth!"

Very easy go to the market place and download from your phone

where to get apps??

ok so im new to this had my htc hd2 for about a week now, absolutley love it, but after having the iphone with lots of apps available for free i dont see many in marketplace could someone please tell me where i can get apps.
thankyou
There are a lot of free apps, search the forums in xda.
If you want 'FREE' apps google is your friend, but you can't ask people in here for stuff or links
The Windows Mobile platform is light years behind the iPhone for the application market. Yeh, there's loads around that do some things, but in terms of the micro-applications model that Apple has, WinMo is just nowhere near.
It won't be like that forever, but MSFT is playing catchup. Personally I think the release of WinMo 7 will be the big change that swings a bit of momentum. I still think MSFT need to release a dev environment better than the native (C++) and make it free.
I'm sure there are many more folk on here more qualified to talk such things than I am.

Ever since I wrote my review iphone vs HD2, the number of Apps in the Windows store has STILL NOT CHANGED !!!! Around 60, vs. 100k for app store? And yes, they even managed to put a fart ap among the 60!
Looking at what you can get for the iphone, I'm considering to sell my HD2. The latest one is my payTV provider that now offers a free of charge iPhone app to watch any of may pay TV chanels on the iPhone.
What about HD2? Not going to do it.
So much for HD2 and WM platform - if the software developers are not developing for it anymore, why stay with WM?

Why do you even use the Marketplace? There are tens of thousands of applications for Windows Mobile available! Windows Mobile isn't that far behind at all.
The appliacations just aren't in the Marketplace, but that's huge advantage over the iPhone: With Windows Mobile, you don't have to rely on a company to allow applications, developers can distribute their applications through whatever channel they want.
Don't bother buying anything from the Marketplace.
Instead, have a look at this forum, handango.com, mobihand.com, freewareppc.com and (for games) gameloft.com.
The best Windows Mobile application repository is unfortunately not legal, so I can't mention it, but the sites I mentioned already give you a glance at what is available for Windows Mobile.

How many apps do you think were available for the Iphone when it had just been released ?? Probably not much either. So, how can you expect that there's thousands of apps in the Windows store, when it's only just 'open for business'?
As already stated before, there's lot's of places where Windows Mobile Apps are available, many for free!
So stop complaining about the amount of apps in the Windows Store, and try searching the Web.....I hear Google is pretty good doing that for you.
can you pm the link??
i dont know about u but personally i LMAO everytime i see an iphone ad which is actually advertising the tons of apps that 3rd party devs have actually made for them rather than advertising their product....
their moto.. "an app for everything.." lol WM had an app for everything way before apple even developed iphone!
i even had an app for everything in my old Symbian S60 phone

sorry for my little remark - it's only a funny comparison, but the question "Where can I find apps?" at xda-developers
is to compare with

Hi
Thanks for the reply. I don't use the marketplace as my main source of apps, and I've had an on off relationship with WinMo for quite some time and have used handango extensively in the past.
One of my biggest gripes over the App Store from Apple was its monopoly over what could be or not be in there. MSFT's model appears a little different as they appear to be more concerned about compliance rather than commercial conflicts - which is good.
But honestly, if you want WinMo to compete in the iPhone and Droid space, which I'm sure MSFT want, then their needs to be a marketplace for micro applications that cost reasonable amounts. And the apps need to be slick looking and not your usual .Net CF form bores.
I believe it will come, but it'll take some time.

That is an awesome idea. I'm surprised Handango don't have an installable marketplace app. I'd bet money on them having one in the near future though.

No, but if you are any good at programming, or know a programmer that knows cURL, then you can build one, and release it to the community.
It really ticks me off that developers have just stopped considering WM as a device people even use anymore, even for really simple apps like one you are considering. My bank, USAA, has an iPhone app, but no WM app. It's not that hard to to design one, and the underlying code would probably be very similar.

Contact microsoft about Hd2/Wp7

I love my HD2, as does every one else in this forum after all, that's why we are all here. I mean i have a phone which within 30 minutes i can have any one of 4 different operating systems and each one with lots of lovely flavours. what's not to like?
This is the kind of customer i am; i like choice.
This type of customer knows how to install new phones and install custom firmwares. Thing is that this type of customer, i.e. Me, is also a prolific spender of online goods and services. I pay for a web host and remote file storage. i pay for my online music (though mine is very specialised so not from itunes!) and movies. i spend a small fortune on Xbox live arcade and PSN.
I am also a developer and write Visual basic, linq and oracle SQL apps for my employer as well as for my self.
Now here comes the problem. I have a HD2 and i have a choice of android, Wp 6.5 and Wp7 (we will leave out windows 98 as thats not much use on the phone for daily use). If i install Win 6.5 my phone is dead, no nice apps and a clunky interface. If i install android i get a fully functioning phone with access to the market place and i have already spent quite a bit in there on apps and games for an OS that i may not even use in future. If i install WP7 i get the basics but microsoft actually STOP me from giving them money and buying apps and games.
This seems daft in 3 ways
1) i want to buy apps and games but they are stopping me from giving them money
2) I can get the games via pirate methods but as a software writer, thats not the game i am in; fair program = fair payment.
3) i am due to upgrade in 3-4 months and at that time i have to decide whether i stick with my HD2 or upgrade to an android phone or a Win 7 phone; if i have invested all my money in android and begun developing on that handset then i will not buy a WP7 device, no matter what comes in the next update.
Way i look at it microsoft are being silly about this, android do not limit what i can purchase from their marketplace, legit phone or not.
Now in times of old, microsoft could ignore us as we make up 0.5% of the customer base and, with pirating, make up 0% of the companies income. But times change and now we are a resource, Modern phones generate income well after they have been sold via downloads and as a developer of (admittedly basic) apps i am some one microsoft might want on board. Microsoft is going to drive a significant wedge of its customer base away (aside from the horror stories i have heard regarding app submission, 1+ month for a revision?) and once the slide starts towards android, microsoft will not be able to stop it.
Now i cannot ring up microsoft and start to ask for codes and give in fake details as that is not who i am and my hotmail account is my developer account. On the other hand i have a little money and i am happy to purchase a licence for this phone from microsoft or HTC to enable WP7 on this device, but how do we get them to do this? plus windows phone 7 is hacked onto the HD2, deal with it or lose that whole segment of customers.
Way i see it if i prepare a carefully constructed letter and email it to them and i get the YTS kid, nothing is going to happen. If on the other hand we know some one higher up who can look at this then i`m happy to discuss with them.
Now i know this will do nothing and i know microsoft will just say `buy a new phone` or 'Its down to HTC' but i am not looking to pirate the phone i am looking to be legitimate. If they only want to drive me to pirate stuff to test the phone and develop for it then i`ll just choose to go with android and spend my cash there.
Well that was a bit annoying to read m8, please try and use proper paragraphs.
You have some very valid points there but I just dont think that M$ are going to go back on what they have said and start supporting unofficial roms. If they was going to do that they would simply release an official rom which I just cant see them doing as HTC would potentially be pissed of as they would have far less people buying the HD7.
just look the forum about the problems with the shipped sd card...
unsupported device is unsupported, at the moment they dont block, so be happy it works anyway but dont expect support from ms (support is not cheap).
Microsoft gave me a key no problem. I've been buying apps on the app store no problem. They just asked me is the phone a HTC, which it is. If I were you I wouldn't bother writing a letter until they say they will be blocking HD2 running WP7.
I'll be upgrading to WP7 when the new batch of high spec WP7 comes out but for now I love running WP7 on my HD2.
As the poster above has pointed out the problem with SD cards. Can you imagine what would happen if Microsoft said the would support the HD2. Thousands of people would be complaining that there SD cards don't work which causes numerous problems with the OS. Thats just one of many other differences. The DFT has done an amazing job and I think Microsoft will leave us HD2 users alone.
If you want to learn a little bit more about the SD card problems, read the link below. It will explain alot

What? Do you think Microsoft and HTC do not read these posts? Well you have just told them all. As soon as you post anything in XDA its read by these people...

Will hd2 activations be revoked

I have a concern that Microsoft will revoke our activation codes and we will loose all our purchased apps and games.
Could this happen, do you think it could happen, or please tell me I am being paranoid and go spend some money on the marketplace?

You're being paranoid. Go spend some money in the marketplace.
Seriously, I think there are two reasons why this won't be a problem:
First, I doubt Microsoft is tracking the sort of information that would ever lead to this (I'd expect they would have to be linking our IMEI numbers to our windows live id), or if they are, I doubt they would ever bother to check that those IMEI numbers were for valid WP7 devices.
Second, your purchases are tied to your windows live id, not a particular phone. Even if they decided to somehow shut down phones that weren't using legitimate versions of WP7, I doubt they would (or legally could) take away your purchased apps (without refunding your money, at least).
Go forth and purchase!
Dingo
The activation code is needed to use Windows live services, Xbox live and Marketplace. You can still use WP7 on HD2 if you don't have an activation code (the OS still works).
Even if activations were canceled or revoked, apps and games installed on the phone would still be usable unless they specifically require access to your activated Windows Live account.
aye, what they said ^^
also, could they, potentially yes but would they? its very unlikely they would, whilst you are (hopefully) spending money on the market you are sending them money, as long as users of WP7 dont take the piss as has happened in the android development and steal as much as the can MS doesnt have an incentive to block us all. Unfortunately as WP7 gains popularity we may get flooded with freeloaders illegally downloading as much as they can get their hands on, this would kill us as MS would then have a very big incentive to lock down WP7 even more and potentially part of that could be blocking us as well.
in short, buy stuff on the market and they will be happy resulting in us beingt happy!
It was interesting to test WP7 as we did with Android. But the activation code is so embarassing that it dissuade us. So we just hope that we will have an automatic simple unlock code soon. For the moment, bye bye WP7 and welcome Android.
How is it embarrassing, just curious? It was simple & effective to get the activation code. WP7, is quite simply way better than Android, imho. To each his own, but I think if you used it, while activated, you'd be convinced to keep it. It's easy to use, effective, & so clean looking. Lmao, I sound like a commercial now, I better stop.

Paying for apps

Just a questionaire, i'm trying to do some market research as I begin my personal app development project after I have finished my studies, thanks.
OK so what are the questions?
Yeah.. I pay for my apps.
Hi,
I would've loved a multiple-choice questionnaire because price is not the deciding factor. I paid 4,99 € for Juice Defender Ultimate without blinking, but I wouldn't pay a dime for an app that is half-way done, ugly and doesn't do what I need to.
Do ask if you want to know more about my buyer profile.
Cheers!
I pay for apps when the f4ck1ng Playstore lets me. Since I'm a citizen of an exotic European country, the Market has allowed me to buy just 1 app so far (Root Uninstaller). The other one (Titanium) I could buy off the dev directly. Other than that - "This app is not compatible with your N7000", meaning fcuk off.
As a result of that, I'm forced to use just free apps - not that I need many anyway - but it's humiliating and degrading.

A free (limited functionality or ad supported) version to ensure it works properly on my devices with an in app purchase to unlock the full version. That last part is what I find missing in a lot of games and I hate starting over because I decided to buy the full/ad-less version
there should be an option saying " when the play store is available in your country !!"
it's sickening how one would like to buy stuff only to find that he's being blocked due to geo-based restrictions ,even when using market unlocker I still can't buy paid apps.
actually I once went through the trouble of creating a fake US address just to buy "Set cpu" from Amazon app store ,cause that's the only app store I can fool ,and even that is getting harder to do now a days.
it's just frustrating you know.......not to mention makes devs lose potential sales.
I've bought more apps in my 2.5 months on android, than my previous 3 years in iOS. Interestingly, there are more apps in the android world that I'm willing to pay for.
Ive recently just came over to the android community previously being an iphone user. Any apps i bought through the appstore i have repurchased through the marketplace. I find aslong as there is value for money then i will pay for it
