So from what I've read you can increase your speeds by changing your category. Normally, the setting could be changed within the build.prop but I can not find it anywhere. In the Hidden Menu options, under WCDMA-Only/Modem Settings/HSDPA Category, there's three options 6,8,12. Anyone know where I can edit the Category?

My phone is stuck in Military time...and yes ive gone to regional settings and such...its in the "correct" format but it's still messed up....can anyone provide some way to fix this...maybe a reg. edit? Thanks
I'd check the list of formats closely. I was almost positive I had the correct format selected to display x:xx AM/PM but when I looked again, I noticed an option further up that was the correct one. That solved it for me.
Set regional settings to:
"h:mm:ss tt"
You have to scroll up to see it!

The dropdown has scroll arrows. You have to use those to see all the options.
I still use the default windows calendar application, but I'd like to find a way to customize it. (or customise, if you prefer).
Under "subject" there is a drop-down menu that I'd like to add to or alter the default settings. I have "Meet with, Lunch, Dinner, Visit, Call", etc., but I'd like to change these to "Dental appointment, Class, Kids activity, On Call at work" or whatever comes to mind. This way I can find these appointments faster.
Any ideas? I've searched for many tweaks but not found these.
What about SPB Diary or any of those programs that enhance your phone's PIM.. have you tried any of those?
I haven't. I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible, without adding a whole bunch of extra software to the phone.
I was hoping it could be found in some hexadecimal registry search or something, but I don't have the time right now to really dig deep. I was just hoping one of the brilliant minds here knew of a way.
please clarify
Dirt,
Under subjects I understand you have entries already added by yourself. have you tried under categories??? I think you might find it easier to use that to find them quicker when searching, noting that it would be just like using the desktop version of outlook. Just a thought, you know.

I have two areas I want to enter things into, Subject, and Location. Both of these are drop-down boxes, with some pre-installed entries in Subject. Nothing is per-installed in Location.
I can simply type what I want into these boxes and it will work, but with the drop-down boxes it would be much easier to simply select one.
Even adding my own entries doesn't add them to the drop-down list for future use.
This is all at the screen of a new calendar appointment, at the very top.
Ok, which version (wm5/6) herald do you have?? I understand you, but what you can't do I can with mine, and its stock.
This is WM6.1 pro.
same problem here..
Ive searched the registry for those default entries. found nothing. maybe in some xml config file...
Hi there,
my slider become unstable, hang after a while or if I scroll too fast, after install the above 3 tabs by modifing the registry. Anyone experience the same? Any solution?
Put the registry settings back the way you found them... that should do the trick. Use Schaps Advanced Config tool to do the registry hacking for you - you have an option then to return things to their default setting if you don't get the desired result.
whatever
schap's advanced modifies exact the same values in a same registry, that you would edit manually, so there's no difference.
another question how did you add tabs to manila, editing registry?!
you should edit XML in 2694..._manila file in \windows to get additional tabs.
No difference!!

... actually there's a lot of difference! Schaps allows you to know exactly what you're adjusting, which is very useful - and you can return the settings to default if the result isn't to your liking. BIG difference to messing with the registry yourself! Yes, the result is the same, the level of skill / knowledge / risk is definitely not the same
I'm loving my HD2, and I'm very happy with the HTC Sense UI, but there's a couple of things that are really bugging me.
One of them is just stupid.
I'm a developer myself, but a Windows dev, not really mobile, and there's NO WAY ON THIS EARTH that I would EVER make a menu that only had 1 option in it.
With that in mind, why on earth do I have to go to Settings, Menu, and then All Settings, to get the settings menu???
Okay, I understand it going to the settings tab, but why there's a menu titled 'Menu' that only has the 1 option of 'All Settings' in it I'll never know. It would make much more sense to just have 'All Settings' instead of 'Menu'.
Can anyone in-the-know give some pointers on how this might be changed? A CAB file would obviously be preferable , but I'm happy to look into this a bit myself.
I know there's some über geniuses on these forums (suck suck). Can any of you help out?
yeah it's not very ergonomically sound
The 'original' settings shortcut is hidden, you can show it by modifying:
HKLM\Security\Shell\StartInfo\HideSettings
Change it from 1 to 0, soft reset, then delete the settings shortcut in windows\Start Menu\Programs
edit: more info here (and it seems you can't delete the 'new' settings link)

Cheers mate. Bit annoying that we have to hack a step back to get some basic functionality, but better that than nothing.
Thanks
It is indeed a bit strange...
We can say that it is a kind of "protection"... To avoide people playing with your mobile to be directly in the settings ...
That is the only reason I see so far (maybe not a good one)
Well, what settings do you need that are in the original WM settings screen and not in HTC's 'More -> Settings'?
But yeah, the 'More' menu with only one item is pretty ridiculous indeed.
I have a question how to make guick link on main screen to settings (WM settings not manila settings)?
In BSB tweaks, there's the option to have Windows Settings as on/off. I have mine on, which gives me two "gear" icons - one is Settings, the other is Manilla Settings. The Settings icon takes me straight to the All Settings you mention.
Any good for you?
All,
Couldn't find anything about this searching this forum and Google. We have an HTC HD2 from Vodafone. At first glance the only thing Vodafone has changed seems to be the boot screen...
But it seems they changed some other things to. First snag I ran into is turning off Sense. You are supposed to go to "Settings --> All settings --> Today". Now comes the problem. Appearantly in this dutch version there is no "all settings, only "other settings"". Checked all the settings options, but there is no today in there anywhere.
So I found the registry hack on this forum to display hidden settings. Performed the hack, resetted the phone and.... nothing. No change at all.
I'm stumped...
Any of you know how to open the Today settings via a file explorer or something. Would be much appreciated
on the settings screen, press menu and there you will find 'all settings'
