do you know the radio chip?

It won't work. The Korean version has not enabled the FM hardware, possibly in exchange for the Korean DMB TV Tuner.

carrier apps porting?

i am using uk version of htc desire with my own custom rom based on the official wwe froyo rom.
the fm radio app in the wwe does not support the bandwidth of fm radio in japan where i live. recently, softbank has finally releasted 2.2 update for their branded version of desire. i thought i could simply copy the HtcFMRadio.* and com.htc.FMRadioWidget.* in my /system/app, but it did not work at all.
is this fm radio app in the softbank update protected so that it cannot be used in non-softbank rom or is it simply i did something wrong??
thanks in advance.
btw, this new(?) "Here are the similar threads we found" feature is really helpful!

Hey I'm using Leedroid 2.1 and the radio app works as far as I remember. You could try that...

Did you take the files from the Softbank update ZIP? They have a strange additional .p ending. Not sure if you can use them directly.
I tried to open one of these apk.p files with 7Zip, and it appears not to be an archive. Usually you can open apk files as archives.
Maybe you need to get them from an updated phone.

[Q] NAND ROM witch FM Radio or FM apk.

Hello
I use HyperDroid and it is my first Android ROM. Now i realized it doesn't have FM Radio.
Is there any application for this or I need to use another ROM?
If 1 option is no possible, could you suggest me good ROM with FM Radio.
PS. I can't use a internet, stream radio. Too small mb package.
Thanx in advance.
Anyone, plz?
Hey, i'm looking for this FM Radio APK too, i need it, broadband in my country is very slow to use streaming radio.
I have looked everywhere and no FM apk seems to be working.
Thanks!
Using root explorer push the app to system/app folder. Hope it works for you
Remember don't click to install it. Simply put it in system/app folder and u can see the radio icon in app drawer.

[Q] Which rom is best so far?

hi bros,
I am still using the native rom on my x5. It comes with some useless apps and cannot be removed. So am considering upgrade. seems there are very few roms out there. Would it run smoother after rom change? And which rom would you suggest? I notice that B136 is the latest, but someone got battery drain faster? any comments?
Thanks.
imho 135sp01 is the preferred rom atm..

note that unicom version does not support hspa+..
it only supports hspa..
not a problem in china as unicom only supports hspa, but could be an issue in areas where providers support hspa+..

How do you know ril version on ROM flash

hello, i installed a new runnymade rom, how can i tell the version of the RIL used?
reason why i am asking , if i do a ril matcher, my data doesnt work anymore, only with the preinstalled ril it works
therefore , how can i know the ril version of the files in that system/lib folder?
thnx
Settings - About Phone - look right underneath "Baseband Version!"
hello, thats the version of the radio, not the ril itself?
Type this into a terminal:
getprop gsm.version.ril-impl
thx i did that command, and it returned :2.2.0193hm oct 3 2011
but now i still dont know for what radio it is used

Another FM Radio Thread

Long story short, I've extracted an FM Radio apk file from other ROM, in order to install it on another ROM, I put it on the internal storage, try to install and it always fails, I just get an error "app not installed"
Any ideas?
Download Spirit FM from the Play Store or from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13385163 if your ROM doesn't support FM Radio.

SpiritFM doesn't work on my S3, don't know why just can't seem to figure out the configuration, I either get no sound or just static, the FM Radio that comes with UltimaROM works fine but only with UltimaROM, even if I extract it it won't install on Rootbox

I found a free version of sprint that works but it's an old one and doesn't allow searching of stations, any help? If I update it, it breaks (and not say just use the old version) I want the most up to date version even if I have to pay for it, as long as it works!
