Ok guys, I somehow managed to brick my beloved G2.
Not exactly sure how I managed to do it. I had just flashed the latest Paranoid Android rom and tried to reboot the phone and it locked up.
Here's what I'm getting when I try to boot the phone:
It very briefly flashes the pink/white LG logo then goes to a blank/black screen with the following info in the upper left of the screen:
[640] Fastboot mode started
[690] udc_started()
[850] -- reset --
[860] -- portcharge --
[910] fastboot: processing commands
Then it just sits there. I tried opening a command window and executing "fastboot reboot-bootloader". The phone responds and reboots, but gives the same info as above. Then I tried "fastboot continue". Here's what it spits out:
[76930] fastboot: continue
[76880] partition_get_size 16777216 bytes
[77050] Loading boot image (5564416): start
[77300] Loading boot image (5564416): done
[77350] ERROR: Appended Device Tree Blob not found
At this point I'm totaly out of ideas. And I don't want to mess things up any more than what I've already done.
So am I screwed? Or is this recoverable?
Oh, BTW, it's a Verizon LG G2, and I had TWRP installed. I had successfully been using TWRP and flashing a few other ROMs and I have a couple backups on the phone if I can get into recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Have you tried the button combo to get into recovery and restore a back-up (I believe it's holding vol down and power until LG logo, then releasing and holding them again).
As a last resort, have to tried returning to stock (which will erase everything)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
Yeah, I tried the buttons but the phone just comes up into the screen that I mentioned before.
I didn't try going back to stock as shown in the link you posted, but I'm in the process of trying another method of unbricking the phone.
Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370&highlight=bricked
Well that didn't work. I can get the phone into download mode and the LG software recognizes the phone but the phone doesn't do anything. It just sits at the update screen, at 0%.
Any ideas, guys?
My idea is to steer clear of these so called stable ROMs. ..I been check-in md5s like no bodies business on this phone. I only trust Scott and Jake right now.

Did you try the vzw specific method to return to stock?
Not yet but I will give it a try. I'm currently downloading the rom's tot file. It's big and it's taking forever. I'll post back if I have any luck.
Thanks guys.
I have had a similar issue fast boot mode started black screen then stuck on boot loop. Have u resolved or want my steps?

While on black screen hold power and volume down till u get lg screen
Then keep holding it will go black and led light flashes red like 10 times.
Then let go it should be powered off.
If it isnt or is hold same buttons down again. Depending on what it does I held same buttons till LG logo came up again. Either it will quickly flash or flash the logo for like 5 secs. If 5 secs then let go and quickly hold power button. If not hold all three buttons and see.
Its happed to me like 3 or 4 times and thru trial and error i managed to get white hard reset screen then hit power. Or security error screen and i used the same steps. Let me know

It finished downloading while I was asleep so I haven't actually finished this method. Yeah, before I go any further, what did you do to fix your phone? I'd really appreciate it!

Doh! It was right in front of me, in your post, if I'd just read the entire thing!!
Anyhow.....OMG!! Got it the first time. Just like you described it. Just for anyone else that falls into this problem:
Hold power & down volume buttons until it powers off....and stays off, then release buttons. Then hold same buttons again (power & down volume) until the LG logo comes up and stays up. (You'll know it's going to stay up......because if it doesn't....the logo is only visible for a second at most before it goes back to the black fastboot screen.) Then release and hit power button again. It came up to a white factory reset screen, as razrlover described. Hit the power button to accept the factory reset......... At this point my phone booted into TWRP and I was able to restore a previous backup. Boom.....just like it didn't even happen!!
But here's the big question....what happened??????? I know I'm not alone with this problem now. What did we do to get stuck like we did??
Anyone with any ideas? Hopefully we can figure this out so no one else has this problem.

Not sure what mode I entered, Held vlm down + power. Says Fastboot Mode in red with a big green Start at the top. Options it gives me is Start, restart bootloader, recovery mode, and power off. If I try to enter Recovery mode it says no command. Don't see anything that allows me to reinstall

Ok, found out on the no command screen I can hold power and hit vlm up and it brings me to system recovery with these options. Reboot system, apply update from ADB, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition.
Not sure what to do sadly
Try following step:
1. Press Vol up and down and powerbutton same time to get to the fastboot mode as you mention.
2. Choice Recovery Mode and press power button. If you got luck you will see an android guy with red mark on the screen.
3. Press Vol Up and Power button same time for while don't let go it will pop up a list of option clean the cache and do factory reset, then reboot system.
If this method not working. Then hard method is flash your Nexus 4 with fastboot. Search the forum there few people already post how to flash 4.3 ROM with fastboot

Well, first try, couldn't get my PC to recognize fastboot in adb. Was getting frustrated beyond hell and had to walk away for a bit. Came back about an hour later and for some reason it finally recognized it... Back to the start screen like when I first bought the phone. So far working ok, except for being able to log into my google account... 2-step verification giving me issues now lol. Thank you again for your assistance. Very much appreciated!!:good::good:

I had a similar experience (kind of). I had issues side-loading 4.2.2 -> 4.3 on my N4. After it finished update and rebooted I got a black screen and nothing more. I ran through it and tried to update to 4.3 again, and then it worked.
Even though it worked I've been noticing issues with it. For example, I now can no longer uninstall anything. When I attempt to uninstall any app, the phone reboots. I'm backing up now with Titanium and am about to flash. I was hoping there would be a quick fix here, but such is life. Viva la impatience.
I have same problem my stock 4.2.2 stuck x boot load , did vol up+dwn +power now stuck in "Download Mode" do not unplug the device until the process is complete .

This is what I eventually followed to get mine working. I just did scenario 2 and that worked perfectly for me, so far no issues, just having to get things back to where I had them before. The second link is actually more detailed. Just make sure you follow step by step. I guess i could have not done step D10 but wanted to make sure this route worked for me. Thank you again for those who pointed me in the right direction

I have the exact same problem but not sure how to get my PC to recognize fastboot in adb mode...
FYI if you flash to stock android 4.3 and you have the 16 GB Nexus 4, make sure that after you re-flash you have the full 16 GB and not 8 GB (unless you want to re-setup your phone twice like me). If you get this problem you can wipe cache and data from recovery and voila, all of your free space is back.

If this is what I think it is, I was having the same problem. If I went into Control Panel on my PC and it would say that the driver is failing to load. To fix this I uninstalled the driver, rebooted, reinstalled Google USB Driver from the Android SDK Manager, restarted, and all was well after that.
I really have no explanation for why this fixed it, or it didn't work before, because other than fastboot, everything was working flawlessly with getting my phone to communicate with my PC.
i tried going back to stock firmware using the method in general section but i always seem to get an error at 49%. can someone explain how to get passed this.
i using the t-mobile d801.
also my recovery seemed to have gotten erased because i cant boot into twrp anymore.

HEY! I'm on the d801 as well and I've been where you're at a number of times, unfortunately. But I've always gotten out. Here's the conclusion I've reached. Trying to flash directly back to stock without wiping all the partitions first is what makes the RDTool get stuck. It's like the phone runs out of memory and can't host a full Gig+ of data since your last ROM is in the way. Sorry if I'm wrong but I'm only assuming you didn't wipe everything except the Internal storage. The good thing every time this has happened to me is that your recovery partition should be intact. Mine always is, and we're on the same variant. Another thing, booting back into recovery is not impossible. It's all in the timing it takes from the first time you see the LG logo while holding volume - and the power button, but don't let go. What worked for me was to let the phone cycle between off and boot power states twice until the phone is completely off again. You may even notice the LED indicator flash red. Release your keys if the phone stays off and immediately hold the combo down again until the phone tries to boot again just don't let go of the buttons. Once it powers down again, leave the phone alone for a few minutes. Come back and this time get ready to boot into recovery. The combo button press will initiate boot but don't let go until the next time you see the LG logo flash, then quickly release and depress the vol down power up combo and hold. May take a minute longer than usual but the reset menu should pop up thereafter. Tap power 2 more times and you should back into recovery. It's worked every time for me. Let me know if you're good and whether this helped!
Good Luck,

K, now if you're only seeing the blue dots when you attach by USB your phone to PC, then you're not fully in DL mode to process the kdz. You should see a white wheel in the center of the screen when you connect and a viewing mirror near the base of your phone with ROOTED in red directly below that. And you're sure your PC is detecting your phone? You've the drivers installed? Because when RDT tells you to run the tool, you'll see some binary code in the viewing window I spoke of, the white wheel will turn and below it will be shown the COM port to which you're connected and a solid thin red bar will begin to fill a space in the viewer showing you the progress.
Also, be sure when attempting the first steps I gave you to boot into recovery that you are not USB connected. It won't work.
And, try to remember if your phone was well enough charged, should have been at least 80% full. It happened to me once that I couldn't boot recovery and my phone would go to fastboot like yours until I left it alone to charge and then I repeated the stepsvi laid out to get back into recovery. This part is paramount!
Please READ CAREFULLY
I used to be in your same situation. I thought I had bricked my phone for good. I finally figured it out. Here is my solution from my Thread.

Okay, after 12+ hours of trying every method possible on XDA I finally resolved my issue. I will update the first post just incase any others care or fall into the same dilemma I was in.
The LG Mobile Support tool would not download the firmware and it would NOT ask me for my IMEI to download it either.
So my solution....
***
Installed LG Mobile Support Tool then Installed the LG Drivers. (FROM HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471370
BEFORE I connected the phone to the computer. I opened the LG Mobile support tool clicked (Options on the top right).
When the dropped down opened, I clicked the (Upgrade Recovery) option. THEN, is when the prompt opened to ask me what my IMEI is.
Before I entered my IMEI, I connected my phone to the computer in download mode, then proceeded to enter my IMEI and hit OK.
This is when the LG Mobile Support tool SUCCESSFULLY downloaded the latest official LG firmware and installed it.
*** BE AWARE, with the phone connected to the PC, the prompt NEVER appeared to enter my IMEI.
*** But with the phone disconnected, the prompt came up every time. This might be the trick for some people.
*** with the IMEI prompt opened, I then connected the phone , entered the IMEI, then hit OK. BOOM HERPES....
Well I'll polish this up more later. I hope this works for every LG G2 Variant and not just the T-Mobile one (D801)

Ok, since there is little to no information out there I thought I would share how I created and fixed this problem.
I received a new phone under warranty because of a failing sim card reader. Naturally, the first thing I did once I received it was root it. Next, I thought I would be slick and use flashify to flash a custom recovery (TWRP). Little did I know, with the new version of Android, our phones have a locked bootloader. I freaked out when I saw some weird error messages about it and tried to power off the device in the middle of it booting. BIG MISTAKE. In hindsight, I am assuming that it was re-flashing the factory recovery when I powered it off.
It gave me a solid blue screen for two hours, unless I held the power button for 10 seconds, which would just repeat the process from black screen to solid blue screen repeatedly. I tried to reboot into recovery for 2 hours by holding volume down and power. 2 HOURS!
At that point, I realized that I may have some luck getting it into download mode by powering it off, then powering it on with volume up and power and plugging in a USB cable. VOILA! It booted up normally (somehow) and I got it running the OS.
After that, I made sure that I did a factory reset by reverting to stock using the LG Software Upgrade tool.
The moral of this story is, if you are going to try to install a custom recovery on 4.4.2, make sure you know what you're doing. It turns out an app called AutoRec did the trick for me.

I didn't get the blue screen but I kept getting the security error screen on my d802. To turn it off, I kept holding down the power button for about 10 seconds after the screen went blank. This caused the phone to remain powered off. After that, I was able to boot into download mode. Maybe this method will work for your phone.

Don't know of any other methods because holding down the power button got the phone to turn off and allow me to get into download mode. From download mode, I was able to restore a stock 5.01 ROM to my phone via LG Mobile Support Tools.
LG G2 Bluescreen then no boot after disconnecting battery
Found my LG G2 with a completely blue screen. It would not turn off. Took it apart and disconnected the battery. Reconnected the battery and there was only a blank black screen and the phone would not boot. Zilch. Even with pressing the power button with the volume down to boot into recovery.....still zilch.
I sucessfully got my phone to work again using a hair dryer trick on an LG G3, which I found here.
1. I took the back off the phone, disconnected the battery, and removed the SIM card.
2. I then used a hairdryer on high heat and blew the heat over the uncovered areas for 10 minutes.
3. I let the phone from hot to warm, reconnected the battery and put it all back together with the SIM card replaced.
4. I booted into recovery and restored a TWRP backup, and my LG G2 is working like a champ again.
Hey all! Hopefully you can help with this issue. I have had this phone through T Mobile for a few months now, and am stuck in a real bind. As the title suggests, I have a boot loop issue and Device is Corrupt issue as well. The red Triangle is an issue with the OS. I cannot get the phone to boot to Android, nor get into recovery. I can however bring up the IMEI menu, which displayed the IMEI. I really need help, as this is my main contact for job search and family.
Im on sprint so this method is unavalable to me.
Tried LGUP? you have the ability to shoehorn a KDZ file in whicj will bring your phone to stock
As this is a no go for the ls997 i have no idea how this is accomplished. Check the forums for said method.

I will definitely look into this. I just want my phone back TT.TT lol
I wanted to chime in, I've got the same issue as OP.
What's broken:
turning the phone on normally - displays an LG logo; gets stuck, won't proceed past this point
holding VolUp while connected to PC - displays IMEI; won't enter download mode
holding VolDown - displays IMEI; won't enter fastboot or recovery mode
So, there's no way to get to recovery. I'm stuck with a $400 brick that displays a logo or an IMEI number.
LGUP w/Uppercut doesn't work either, shows up as an unrecognized device, and it wouldn't matter if it were recognized, because I can't get the phone to download mode to restore a stock .kdz.
I just ordered the phone on the 4th from Amazon, so I'll see if I can return it/get a replacement, but I'm guessing I won't be that lucky. It does display the orange "WARNING: Bootloader Unlocked" screen, meaning it's very easy to see that the warranty has been voided, so I guess whatever support I get is a crapshoot.
Again, since I can't get to fastboot mode, there's no way to restore to stock and relock the bootloader before returning it. Kinda dug myself into a hole here with no other options.
I got it to install! Now to just play the waiting game and see what happens. I had to do some finagling to get it to work, but it works.
I found a H91810 KDZ, I started Uppercut which loaded LGUP, click on UPGRADE, then selext the KDZ file from where you saved it. Should work. Also make sure all of your drivers are up to date.

Were you ever able to get this resolved? I'm having the same problem, except it's not showing anything about the bootloader that I can see

Ok, I seem to have my device back up and running. The step I was missing was to remove the battery, disconnect the USB cable, put the battery back in, hold volume down but don't press power, instead connect usb cable. This got me into fastboot and I was able to recover from there.
this might work for you!

okay so holding VolUp while powered down and plugging into pc will bring up download mode if its still there,
if you have twrp installed prior to this red triangle then pull battery/put back battery. hold VolDown and power at the same time, as soon as LG logo comes up release power button (fast) and then hold it back down again while never letting go of VolDown. this is the factory reset hit yes for both questions and it should reboot phone into Recovery mode. some times you have to do it twice to get recovery (twrp) to pop up! i hope you have bootloader unlocked and twrp.

If using the LGUP you must get the G4 Dll file for it to read the phone and com its on. i believe its a common.dll file i cant really remember...

What model do you have?
You can put the phone to download mode (even if screen displays glitchy gibberish screen) by taking out Battery first, put battery back in after 10 seconds. Then just press Vol up and while keeping it pressed, connect to USB. If you have drivers installed, your phone will get recognized by LGUP. Now from here you can flash the stock rom.
As the title says. My k20 is boot looping with a black screen. The LG logo no longer shows.
I had Lineage 15.1 loaded, and thought I wound make a twrp backup using Travis' Red Wolf 64bit recovery. (Greetings, fellow Hoosier)
But, that wasn't enough for me. After the backup, I wanted to try the Nethunter Kernel. I was softbricked, so I recovered the boot partition and all was fine. But, silly me figured if nethunter didnt work for me then to try out FuseBox. After flashing that, the phone rebooted into a black screen, no logo. So, now way of knowing what stage of first boot it is in.
After some fiddling, I can get it into download mode, still black screen, I only know it's in download mode because LG Up(With Uppercut) suddenly detects it. At first, it only stayed in DL mode for for a few seconds then rebooted. Durng one of those "few seconds" boots, I manage to quickly start the LG Up Upgrade process, halting the reboot. I tried flashing MP26010j and 26010k. The flashes complete successfully then reboot, but.... still a black screen and continually reboots after about 15-30 seconds..
Tips, suggestions, ritual sacrifices?
If not for the boot looping I would think that a video driver isn't loading.
alternatively, anyone know of a comparable or close enough phone under $80 usd?
Had the same problem with bricked black screen.
i fixed mine by flashing a kdz with lgup tool
Connect it to windows make sure it doesnt keep disconnecting hold vol and power buttons different ways till is stable
flashed it like 4 times till the lg logo poped up and booted up factory mode now im back to lineage/wolf revovery. Dont give up yet
I do appreciate the motivation. I just went through the process another 10 times with the 26010j kdz, and 10 with the 26011k kdz. No luck.

I flash the stock rom m26010x and nothing
Unfortunately, no. I'm moving on and just counting it as a loss. I hope you have better luck.
