Good morning everyone. I recently purchased a G2, rooted it, and am running Malladus 1.1.7. I've also ran CleanRom 1.0. The problem I am having is that I get high pitched feedback when talking to someone when they are on a cell phone. When I am talking to someone who is using a land line, there isn't any feedback. I've looked through the settings and have toggled "Voice Enhancement" as well as "Voice Privacy", neither has helped.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could try next? As stated above, I've rooted the phone and am not sure if I can return it now. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I, too, am hearing some pops and squeaks. I'm on the VZW version. I've searched several other boards and see others talking about the same thing, but no fix.

Well, today is the date we had heard the OTA would begin to roll out. Whether it does remains to be seen.
If anyone sees an update notification, let us know here. Better yet, contact someone in #g2root or #g2-dev on IRC (freenode) so we can help you obtain the URL to the update. Keep in mind if you intend to help out, you should not accept the update before reaching out for guidance on extracting the URL.

8:22PM PST - Still nothing. Not happening today.
3:20PM PST - Still nothing.
12:23PM PST - Still nothing.
10:48AM PST - Nothing yet from anyone.

This phone rebooted on its own about midnight. Had to reinstall two Widgets and a keyboard program.

2 G2's here, along with my bro and sis-in-laws 2 G2's and nothing so far. Running logcat, hoping... And to empahsize someone elses comment, PLEASE no bs this time, having one thread closed was bad enough. 2 would be worse...
Nothing here either. Wouldn't surprise me if we didn't get it today. Tmobile is never on time with their dates.

I don't recall TMO giving a date, official or otherwise. I was under the impression it was simply a rumor as to when the masses would receive it. It would be nice to get it, but it is like Christmas, etc... It will happen when it happens, all we can do is be ready... My $.02 worth...
It wasn't a date from T-Mobile. Just a rumor that halfway made sense at the time.
I would bet its a no go for today. Its already noon EST and no reports yet. Somebody would've got it by now if they were indeed rolling it out.
Time to put it out of my head again and concentrate on other things like...lunch! I'm starving, and beer would be nice right about now.

You would know if you got an update. Read the 10 million other threads on here if you want to discuss a random reboot. It has nothing to do with this rumored OTA.

thats just a flaw with the phone, mine reboots at least 2x everyday, walking thru a building on campus without signal, and then walking out of the building....
It reboots because of the signal. If your in a area you know you have no coverage just pop your phone into airplane mode.

So I am having issues with my G2, the quality in calls is horrible, and been getting worse. (Voices on other end cutting in and out, but the other party can hear me just fine)
SO I called T Mobile, and they are sending me one free of charge(Bare-bones, just the phone, I keep my battery, sim, sdcard, etc)
MY QUESTION IS: Before I send my current G2 back to t mobile, should I put it back to main factory settings??? (I have visionary, gscript, setcpu, etc.) I don't want them to see that, and them be like you voided it, so now you have to pay for two phones.
So do I set it back to factory, and if so, how do I do that, so they don't know I rooted it? I'm sorry I tried searching the forums, and did not find anything.

You may as well, just to be on the safe side. Plus, that way it'll erase all of your personal information from the phone before they receive it back.
Menu > Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset
The issue you described sounds like a network issue, don't be surprised if it continues on the new G2.

Well the thing is, all of my tombile phones(G1, Cliq) ive had before this, the reception was fine. Also while Im on my G2, I have full bars, and the other end can hear me fine, they are just coming in bad.
Doesn't that sound like a speaker issue????
I also think it is a network issue. I'm having similar problems, more with data right now as I'm not making or getting very many calls on this new number. I'm on my 2nd G2 BTW

Is the screen protector that came with the phone still on? It covers up the front speaker, I'm sure you figured that out...
The ear speaker is not centered on the phone i seam to hear better with the left corner of the phone to my ear hope this helps you with your new phone

im on my 4rd replacement 2 days ago. 1st day after receiving it, it worked fine. However, after the OTA the next day i now experience the same problem with my 3rd hand set which is drop calls, data signal jumping from H to E alot and never stable. i dont know what else to do but to keep it for another few days and see what happen if it doesnt get better guest it be it for G2

I'm right there with you. I might try another replacement but I think I'm going to get the same thing. Going back to T-Mobile tomorrow and see how I feel.
So I've been looking for an answer but I haven't come across one. There are a lot of similar issues but I haven't found one exactly like mine.
I'm a noob.. so sorry for that. I just rooted my samsung vibrant last night and I flashed the latest nightly cyanogenmod. Everything was fun and going great and still is except for the fact that my phone is more like a badass itouch with no calling ability now. When I try to make calls, it stays stuck on dialing like it's trying to get signal to complete the call but the call actually gets through. I know this because the person I was calling called back. Though the call gets through, I can't hear anything. There's no ringing when I call someone. I can't tell if they pick up and if they do then I can't hear them.
I haven't yet tried to wipe and reflash or backup to how my phone was before i flashed CM because it took forever to get things just how I wanted them. I was hoping to find a fix before I did these.
Awesome features, but I'll be sad to see these go if my phone can't make calls.
please help?
Keep trying to reflash. Do not use nightly 9. Try 6...worked for me after many tries.

Agreed. #9 has an issue with audio during calls. #7 has worked well for me.

Would anyone who has time and is running stock at the moment tell me if when you are talking on your phone it will allow you to open the camera application? You would be helping me with an issue a friend of mine is having. Ive tried this on 3 different S4's...the sprint ones wouldnt let me but the verizon one did?

At&t S4 4.2.2 MF3 here. Camera opened and took photos during phone call.

I have the AT&T SGH-I337 variant running the just released MJ9 update and I was able to open the camera app and take a photo while on a phone call.

You have to go to the sprint and Verizon thread. I was always under the assumption since the iPhone started going to different carriers that only gsm phones can still do things while talking on the phone so CDMA phones weren't able to be on the phone and surf the web or take pictures at the same time, I guess through network limitations. It might have had changed since than but I'm not too sure.

Lol I searched SGS 4 and since this one was listed as just plain ol SGS 4 I thought this was all of them. Thanks for pointing that out lol.
Hey everyone, I have a little problem. My s4 wont let me check for updates. I hit the little Software Udpate button and it won't even search its almost like a fake button to nowhere. I've tried Google, but havent found anything regarding update button won't work. My S4 was rooted at one time but I messed something up took it to best buy and they put everything back to normal so I don't think the root did anything to cause this. Anyway if anyone has had the same prob. and knows a solution that would be excellent and greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
