Hello kazshizka, It seems that you got the P.R.China retail edition, this model of this device should be ME722 instead of Milestone 2.
I strongly recommend that re-flash the UK retail ROM with RSD Lite, just check the ROM file here: http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2
Then, search RSD Lite and the HOWTOs in this forum.
After you reflash your device, don't forget switch the Baseband to China version to ensure the signal strength of your phone.
If you have to send SMS in Chinese, you need more cracks with your UK rom. Feel free to contact me if necessary.
Alternatively, If you prefer the original ROM ( It quite contains lots of rubbish ), or, you really need the MOTO Chinese input method or something. Try follow steps:
Download the GMS ( Google Mobile Service ) package for ME722 here:
http://u.115.com/file/f4b76fefad
Rename the zip file to update.zip, then copy it into root folder under your microSD card,
Hold X button and boot the device, when there are a reboot with "!" appeared, press @ button.
Choose apply update.zip to install GMS package.
Enjoy it!
Best regards.
Thanks a lot!! It does contain a lot of rubbish. Can't I just root the phone to remove the rubbish? I'm using it in a different country so I don't mind the UK version but the Chinese input is needed.

UK ROM just cannot send Chinese Contents SMS without some cracks, but it can really works perfect with other Chinese input method like Google pinyin, Touchpal pinyin, and so on.
Switching a China version baseband is necessary even you using it in a different country. Because UK rom's baseband do not fit M722's hardware.
Check root tools here:

U will be surprised by then.
Sorry, there is one more condition: Ur phone need to be Rooted!!

MarketEnabler is very cool but I think you just can't image what happened in P.R.China's ROM,
Because a dozen of google's services was TOTAL OR PARTLY BLOCKED in mainland of China, include Youtube, Gmail ,Search ,Translate,.... And, we can't reach facebook, twitter, linkedin,....
So, there was even no market in China's ROM, the SNS link in moto blur are some localize servers instead of twitter and facebook.
We can fake mobile provider via MarketEnabler in Market, but no Market here.

Really thanks for all your great efforts on this. My device is UK retail version, and I'm using the UK firmware now。
Hope the Market installer + MarkerEnabler will be a nice breakthrough for China frimware to get google services, but I don't know whether these could sync google account data ( like contacts ).
Maybe this is the best and easy solution of this thread.

waigx,
Thanks for the useful info, but have you actually tried what you are describing in your first post on a Chinese MS2?
I'm in the same condition as the OP, got a MS2 from China Mobile, it is already rooted (1-click method did it for me) but I hesitate about flashing it as I don't have any way of going back to the current state if it fails.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

i do believe thats the reason why there is a guide to back up your current ROM. this is as simple as i can put it to you:
1 - Root phone
2 - Install Droid 2 Bootstrap
3 - Boot into recovery from Bootstrap
4 - Select backup on recovery ( use volume keys for up, down, camera for ok and power for back)

I got the same model ME722 from China, I have the same problem. No Market! Google does not recognize my phone and does not let me install from Market. How do I get Google to recognize my phone?
I rooted my phone and installed Market Enabler, however, I am still not able to install from Market?? I faked using Rogers then went to Market and tried to download an app, but Market still comes back with no Android phone..... Is there something that I missed?

Hi or.green,
I really understand your concerns, please don't worry about it. Your can flash it again if it fails, because the device load Bootloader first, which you cannot modify with flashing phones.
I wrote down my experience of using MS2 for share, and I attached it in the attachments. Including how to flash the phone and F.A.Q.s of MS2. But the contents are Chinese, hope it helpful for you.
Feel free to contact me if necessary.
Just go ahead.
Best wishes.
Edited: This article is for UK retail version, If you have a ME722, don't forget modify the Baseband after you flashed a UK rom
Hello waigx,
Thanks for the information, I'm downloading the file and will check if it makes any sense to me after google translate (I barely started learning spoken chinese, it'll be a while before I can read it... )
As to you comment about the baseband, I'm guessing instructions on how to do that are readily availavle online, right?
Thanks,
Or.

Hi,
I really need an Arabic support to my milestone 2 device. I've searched the net for a solution with no result, it might be due to the fact that milestone 2 hasn't been officially released in the middle east!!
I'm quite sure it's possible because milestone 1, Defy and Atrix users have had a solution for this issue, then why not me?
Please guys any help would be appreciated, I'm fed up with this!
I'm running the latest firmware 2.2.2
Thanks in advance!.

We would have all languages if we would have a Cyanogenmod ROM but we haven't at this moment. You can eventually install More Locale app from market, and add your locale. After that you will get your language in all apps that support it.

Just install the "More Locale" app from the Android Market, and add your (Arabic) locale in this app. After that all installed apps will recognize your system locale as the Arabic and automatically will be translated to this language if support it. Just try and see results.
agent008my, mkmck or anyone can help, if you could guide me through this?
I've found this generic Arabic files for android 2.2 & 2.3
but I don't know if I can apply them to milestone 2 and how? because I'm no expert in milestone 2 firmware, especially that Arabic is shown in my device but the problem is that it's not connected letters, so there is a little hope here

the steps to the link there is pretty straight forward. you have to make sure your phone is rooted though. to root your phone, check through the android development section of this MS2 forum and you should be able to root your phone then. read carefully, and then read again before you attempt a root. once rooted, download root explorer or something similar and you should be able to follow the steps in that blog pretty easily
edit: you should be able to search through all the extension files stated (right from checking if your ROM is deodexed to modding the system/framework extensions) in that blog after you have rooted your phone via root explorer or similar
always always perform a nandroid backup before you start rooting your phone or installing the patch. you can learn more about nandroid backups and similar android terminology and rooting through these threads:

I installed Root explorer and before rooting I've explored the Framework. I found a framework with odex extension which make it not suitable for the method the guy mentioned.
So my question here, is deodexing the rom a possible thing for a basic user (I've read it's a complicated method), or do you advice me not to do it? -to be able to apply the files-
Thanks very much!.

to be very honest with you, here is my understanding on deodexing:
Apk files have respective odexes that devs use to supposedly save space. Deodexing means you convert it back to a .dex file and put it back inside the apk. This allows you to easily replace files (not having to worry about odexes), but the main point was to deodex services.jar so that you can change all text to different colors (such as the clock color to white) and to deodex services.jar, you need to deodex everything.
to be honest i know nothing about deodexing or how difficult it is to carry out. however, i did take the liberty of searching some up for you, and there is a tutorial on this forum about deodexing. its very complete and it should be able to help you.

I keep seeing something about having to download root explorer from the amazon market to use the new method, would es file explorer work?
Sorry if I'm way off base on any or all of this, I've never rooted anything
I'm tech savvy so i could do it if i had a definitive list of all the progams needed and preferably a video tut of the process. Im seeing a few different ways so im confused as to which way i need to do it. Could someone please point me in the right direction ? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
You seem to have the ability to read and write the English language why don't you go over to the thread where this is being discussed and read the information that is offered and make a decision.
There are tons of threads on this very topic as this is a very hot topic...And in each thread it will tell u what u need to root and etc....Just look up how to root 6.2.1
i hope this helps......

Hello guys,
First of all thanks for this amazing forum and for the great spirit of helping others
Here's the case I'm getting my nook in 7 days (shipped from united status to egypt my country) and I got some inquiries and so on
1. Will I be able to read Arabic books (PDF)
2. If my main usage will be reading only and maybe checking on my emails and my Facebook should I root or not?
3. I heard that even after rooting and saw some YouTube videos that the experience of scrolling on the screen after rooting isn't good
in another meaning that it not worth rooting because It will not be pleasing.
4.To root (I read instructions and everything) but what's the difference between TouchNooter and Nook Manager? like what's better and on what occasions should I use any of them?
Sorry for annoying you guys hope you can bare with me.
Thanks in advance for whoever will bother to reply

1. You should be able to read arabic texts. Also with rooted nook you can download various PDF readers.
2. Checking emails and Facebook is almost imposible without root. Default browser is quite bad.
3. Scrolling is complicated but you can use norefresh app or browse pages one by one without scrolling.
4. Main difference for me is: TouchNooter has Gapps and NookManager has Amazon market. Also TouchNooter is only for firmware < 1.2.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
