My carrier is Bell in Canada. I updated my Note 3 OTA to the XXUBMJ1 firmware update a few days ago. At first all was ok. Today, Google Play Store and Gmail will not connect - on LTE or Wifi. Also, using chrome browser bar to search gives a trusted site warning now. Also the sms app does not show a message i type in in the thread. Obviously there is issues with this update. Apparently XXUBMJ3 was just announced. Does anyone else with the Note 3 running XXUBMJ1 have any of these issues?
Thanks!
Dustin
Hi there has been reports that MJ1 firmware has caused the radio to play up, a reason why MJ3 was released so fast. I've heard some people say it has fixed the problems you are noting.

Hello guys, I have a Galaxy Note 3 SM -9005 not branded
and I'm still not receiving the update via OTA. I also tried Kies but that didn't help me. Does someone know how to get the update without flashing?
I'm in Germany and the KitKat update is already available (since one month now)
PS. Knox counter is 0x0

If you were rooted, then dat would explain why you didn't get OTA notification.
But anyways, as far as I know, only VD2 - Vodafone, VIA - O2 and DTM - Tmobile are available for Germany now and unless your phone belongs to one of these categories or should i say regions, then maybe you shouldn't actually get KK officially yet. Dial *#1234# to check.
And even if you fall into one of the above, you can still jst flash it in ODIN, Kn0x should stay at 0x0 as long as you do not root.
Cheers.
As far as I know the update should already be available, is getting March by now. I'm with O2. But anyway thanks for your reply
Have O2 actually pushed the update? OR are you referring to the Unbranded Kitkat that has been pushed? -- cause both are very different. - Also If O2 is anything like it is in the UK they're slow as hell to push out updates. Often last and very late.
I have a unbranded Note 3, but I'm using a O2 Sim card. I was referring to the unbranded update but I think since I'm using O2 it's recognized as a O2 phone, even in play store it shows my Note 3 as: O2 SM -9005
It should still register as an unbranded model due to your firmware. -- Mine is unbranded also and in play store I have O2 Appspace / O2 SM-N9005 like you. - Could try grabbing the actual unbranded ROM from Sammobile and flash it via Odin.
DBT unbranded just confirmed now.
Yep, update started here too
Lol. That escalated quickly!
My S4, i9505, pops up an error every now and then. It says "Unable to register simcard on network. Reboot now. When I reboot everything is fine, but it happens perhaps three or four times a day. There is no pattern to it, and I have ordered a new sim. After installing that the problem still happes.
The phone is out of warranty so I looking at options.
I see that the simcard/sd-reader is very simple to replace.
Do you agree with me that the simcardreader is probably to blame? What else could it be?
If you are on one of the latest KitKat firmwares, I've read some days ago that it's a software issue and it will be (probably) fixed when Samsung releases 4.4.3 for our S4

Got a source for this? I'd love to know it was a software error with 4.4.2 - because then a rollback would fix it!
Thanks.
Hi can anyone point me I. The right direction I'm on kitkat 4.4.4 and hear everyone's on lollipop but whenever I check it just says up to date any ideas how I upgrade? Thanks

Do what I did.
Read the threads below that will tell you what's available in your area and how to do it.
If you are in the UK you can use Odin and the German upgrade.
But don't expect any huge differences. I'm still looking for them ....
Check on sammobile.com if there is an official update for your phone. I had their app installed and that told me that there was an update and could manually download it. I did not do that, then it took more then two weeks before it became available via the update on the phone itself. Phone downloaded and installed it only last friday.
keep in mind that you need quite a bit of free space on the phone memory for the OTA upgrade, 3.5gig if I recall right and after the upgrade about one gig extra is in use.
sim free last??
I'm confused. This is my first Samsung and my experience over many years with Sony & HTC is that the sim free phones always get the updates before the carrier locked phones with their bloatware?
Why have Vodafone/o2 got the update out before Samsung have it out over the air or via my computer (tried both) is it just me or are Samsung weird and alone in this?
Hello
I have a Note 3 bought from amazon italy, but i am in the uk. I rooted it last year.
I'm in uk on the three network (but phone is not from three, its generic amazon italy phone). I checked the OTA software updates and my phone has a 893mb update file available for it.
1) Anyone know if it is a generic samsung update or is it a carrier update from 3 network?
2) Also will i brick it, if i update it, since i am rooted, or is it safe to do so?
3) And lastly anyone done it, and have any advice for me? Like if it has problems, should i avoid it, tuturial links or instructions etc.
thanks to anyone who can help me figure out if i should risk it.
regards
Don't do it bro
ITV Italy Unbranded was the first non-polish EU CSC to receive Lollipop.
Where you are and what network you are using is irrelevant to the OTA process. Updates are pushed from Samsung's servers based on a phone's CSC and IMEI. The provider has no relevance to the process. You will not receive a Three update on an ITV phone. You can even update over WiFi without a SIM.
Can you safely update without bricking: Yes.
Will you keep Root: No.

I purchased a factory unlocked note 3 about 2 days ago and out the box was 4.4.4 i presume. The manufacture date was in late 2014. I've been dying to get my hands on the official lollipop update knowing kies is about the only way. Long story short after the reboot i turned my head and i heard the T-mobile boot sound! I look over and see the tmobile boot playing. After that i suddenly have all TMO's bloatware and annoying little offers but weirdly half of the bloatware doesnt work. It all gets errors and so forth. I'm slightly confused as to why this happened. I purchased the note from an official licensed samsung retailer and the box was sealed. I just want to know why or how this could happen? IT just baffles me.
Its a TMobile branded phone is the most likely answer .
Kies has updated by the firmware details etc on the phone .

But i purchased it brand new, factory unlocked, directly from samsung. I had to order it from the official retailer but i had tracking VIA samsung's official support mail.
Did you try to contact the place you got it from?
What details re CSC firmware etc .
Use Phone Info from Play store .
Kies can only read what's on the phone .
Are you sure Kies gave you an update to lollipop .
Could it be that someone flashed a firmware ???
