I had my screen glass broken down upto about 60% of the screen glass the screen itself is ok . But the touch works in the nonbroken area.
What should I replace?
A screen glass with a digitizer or without?
Complete assembly. You will lose responsiveness if you replace digitizer only as I did on my galaxy s3. OEM assembly is $128 shipped on ebaym

The screen and digitizer on this device are basically superglued together and therefore you can't replace one without the other

that is correct. "Fused" would be the proper description for it Lol.
Thanks guys for the contribution
It seems like the assembly is the solution but for the sack of the lack of money I wanna know what's the broken part is it the screen glass only or the screen glass and the digitizer
Thanks again

I recently replaced my digitizer and my screen is now dodgy ( i can sype but clicking on just about anything doesn't work...) Incidently I ripped a flex cable (i think thats what it is) but im not sure if it is related...
Here is a picture displaying where I ripped my ribon (along the red line):

Would this cause abnormal touchscreen behavior, or did I also ruin my LCD???
Thanks in advance!
You ripped it and things are acting weird? Well there's your problem.

yep - get another part and do it again - DON'T rip it this time
This part is NOT connected to the one I replaced, I am aware of the silly implications, no **** it aint workin son
my question is more if anyone know what this ribbon is specifically for.
thank you
it is broke so better to replace it that ribbon looks to be the one for fingerprint scanner, ear speaker and camera.my earpeice does not work at all and i have dead spots in my digitizer.it would be nice if just replacing that flex would fix it lol.
Well thats what it Should be for, but power, earpeace and camera all work.... I think I may order it and see, pray it is not the LCD that is damaged as the cellphone repair guy suggested it probably is.
I don't know specifically what that triangle is for. Depending on where it's ripped, it could just be a portion of the adhesive. To me this sounds like a digitizer problem and NOT the lcd. I'm under the assumption that if the screen displays clearly, then the lcd has done its portion of the job correctly. So either that rip messed the touch screen up or you could have just done a poor install of the digitizer.
Like he said its nothing with the LCD but with the digitizer.try that new cable and if that doesn't fix it replace the digitizer.

Samsung won't fix it without charging you for a whole screen which they charge £180 here in the uk.. So i'm afraid you're going to have to deal with it. Or buy the digitizer which comes with the whole front housing.. And i would never recomend using toothpaste and all the other crap to get scratches off it really doesn't work, It also makes your screen very worse...
Its a question in the wrong forum
Its a question posted multiple times = use search .
probable answer ignore
use a screen protector
see DIY changing glass video
paid for replacement

You can try to flash with the newest firmware. Not sure though...depends how bad the scratch is

Who gets warranties on smart phones these days? I paid the $8/mo to Sprint for their warranty plan for two years for basically nothing. Unless you're a clutz (which we all can be at times, sh*t does happen), most people I would like to think that hang around XDA take care of their phones like they are newborn babies (that is, we'll hold them ever so gently but will throw them in a fighter jet traveling 1000000mph).
In any event OP, I would guess the problem is with your digitizer, since that is what makes the magic happen and produce our images. You could try taking your phone apart to see if by some miracle the ribbon was knocked loose. Otherwise, might need a new digitizer.
I placed my phone on a table today after arriving into a restaurant from the cold, and after a few moments thought to myself "what's that sound?", only to look to my phone and see that the rear had cracks spreading over its entirety. I then noticed there were a few grains of salt/sugar on the table where I'd placed the device. Now, I can't say for sure whether the cracking is down to the temperature change or the grains (though theses grains are clearly softer than the glass), but I can say with certainty that there was no impact.
After contacting Google's UK customer service, I've been told that any cracked glass issues are classed as user damage, regardless of the occurrence. I have seen similar reports around xda, suggesting the issue could well be down to a weakness in the rear glass.
I wonder if anyone had success in getting Google to issue a refund/replacement for this kind of problem due to manufacturing faults (which is all I can put this down to), or have suggestions on how to proceed with this.

There are replacements on eBay. They really aren't that expensive and it isn't that hard to replace the back.

i would prefer matte black, but the qi coil you need to be careful of.
Does some people have the same problem as I have?
There seems to be something underneath my glass screen. Looks like scratches, but its between the bezel and the beginning of the screen.

Nothing there if I turn on my screen :
Stuck pixels? Had it happen on my n10. Looked like dust under the glass when the screen was off & couldn't see it when the screen was on. Stuck pixel remover worked for me.

It is not in the screen, it's below the screen. I think there are no pixels there.

Probably a defect in the glass bonding... contact the carrier or LG and see if you can get it replaced. That's what the 1 year warranty is for...
I'm scared to lose my phone for 3 weeks and they say: it's your own fault (it's not, I didn't drop it once) and after that I need to pay the research and transport costs.
And if I want to get it fixed, it will me a lot more!
Going to the carrier shop tomorrow. Let's hear them out.

What model is it and what is your carrier? Most carriers handle this type of return w/o issue.

LG D802, Dutch carrier KPN. Have a 52,50 euro monthly contract. One time 350 euro for phone.
