You gotta return to stock using a computer. There is no other way to do it other than this method. Hope it works out for you!
Surely you will be paying for the repair anyway?
Could he not just use the LG tool to flash the stock image, or do you have to accept something on the touch screen?

That would be the revert to stock method I was referring to. He could then get an insurance claim on it and pay no more than $100, assuming the OP has insurance.
Far as I know he doesnt have to use the touch screen to revert back, its all done with the tools given in the revert methodology, but correct me if im wrong on this.

If you're using insurance don't waste your time. Neither care about root whether it's warranty or insurance but call and ask if you want. Insurance will straight up tell you they don't care. You're paying anyway.

More info regarding how you came to the issue would be helpful. What did you do? that can be due to bad recovery.img bad boot.img or kernel while flashing. Tell us little more what happened so we can give you correct info.
At this point, nobody can help you. A fresh device that won't boot correctly, is unrecoverable. Send it to HTC America for warranty repair. Otherwise it's an expensive paperweight.
If the boot loader has not been changed and the stock radio is still the same then I would imagine you can get a warranty service still. By the way, in the video you only let the phone sit on the splash screen for like five seconds or so. Don't know if you have waited longer in the past, just something I wanted to point out.

Hey guys,
I am in a dilemma.
I really want to root but I'm afraid that I will someday(not due root) will get the RLOD or something else and that I need to RMA it while I'm rooted.
So pretty much, I'm worried about my warranty.
What would you recommend me to do?
And any stories about rooted phones sent to rma?
Thanks in advance!

Warranties end eventually, and if it has ended already, you might as well root it. And I actually think that rooting the Nexus 4 is easier than rooting a lot of other devices.

You should have tried to root a HTC device 3 years ago. It was horrible.
Okay thanks everyone!
But I still have a question:
If I am rooted and my phone gets a problem and it can't turn on anymore or like the RLOD or something similar and I am rooted, how am I suppose to unroot?
That's impossible then since the device can't turn on, so if I sent my device which is rooted to Google or LG for warranty can they know it's rooted and charge me in any possible way? Or is that also impossible for them since the device can't turn on?
Thanks in advance

In many cases, they don't even check if it's rooted or not when they send you a new one.
If the phone doesn't turn on, they can't check if it's rooted or not. To fix it, they usually reset the whole phone, and there's no sign of root.

I dropped my phone today and now the volume up button is completely busted, it's stuck in the up position. I need to send it in for warranty work from Samsung but I can't even get it into Download Mode to unroot it, and even if I could, I couldn't hit the rocker up key to continue. How can I get it unrooted so I can send it to Samsung? I'm on Verizon.

Do you know what rooted means?
Please read this information here regarding Samsung Mobile Phone warranty,
http://www.samsung.com/in/support/warranty/warrantyInformation.do?page=POLICY.WARRANTY
It clearly says,
THIS WARRANTY IS NOT APPLICABLE IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING CASES:
5.Defects caused by improper use, as determined by the Authorised Service Centre / Company personnel.
Off course you will get your phone repaired but not under warranty,
only after paying for it
What if I took it to Verizon? Either way rooting my phone is technically voiding the warranty, which is why I am freaking out.

Just tried it.
adb reboot-bootloader
indeed puts the device into Download Mode (without needing the Vol-Up button).
So all you need now is to go through Windows driver hell to get adb working. Either that or use a Mac (/Linxux)!
good luck

If they are already sending you a new device, and all you have to do is return the old device in a pre-paid box, then I wouldn't worry about changing the status of the device. I've done this a few times in phone exchanges back when I had tons of trouble with the Galaxy Nexus. Of course, you could for peace of mind, but I've had experience with sending back a rooted device with no problems. I think they refurb it anyway...

I gave them my rooted S3 back in December for a upgrade and had no problem.
Is there a place I can download the stock firmware for my phone?
What would you guys suggest one could do? My OPO lies on my desk collecting dust petty much. It has a faulty touchscreen and not even the latest touchscreen "firmware" remedies this.
Because of that annoying touch issue, I picked up another phone two weeks ago, a Galaxy S5.

It may be more than it's worth... unless 'principal' is the most high for you.
If you don't get a response from OnePlus folks, walk over to small claims at your local court house and file a small claim against the company. You'll win.. its a PITA, but sometime when the principal (law Law on your side) is worth it... do it.
It sometimes help mold a companies responsiveness and ethics for the better.

I may be a bit biased because I've rootedand customized phones since the D1, when it was MUCH harder than it it currently. But I have always found ODIN very easy to use. In reality, I'm sure the OP could look up a video on youtube on how to use ODIN and get his phone working in like 20 min (minus download/setup times for ODIN, ROM, etc.). And I'm sure he saved a bundle buying it like that. He just needs to pray it's not IMEI locked on top of it, or all that effort will have been wasted

We'd prefer that you not. Phones with locked IMEI's are that way for a reason, and we don't want the activities on this forum getting us into legal trouble. Thanks for your understanding.
