To this point no. Havent really noticed anything wrong with the photos...with the right camera settings they come out sharp n beautiful.

I already have 2 micro scratches on the lens cover.
Samsung have been completely dumb about this on the Note 3 and the Note 1.
The stock back cover on both devices offers no protection to the plastic camera cover. This is actually a design defect by Samsung, since with minimal forethought, they could have slightly raised the back cover above the lens cover surface.
At some point, I may take this to a Samsung service centre (I did it with my Note 1) to ask for it to be relaced FOC.
I'm not paying for a ludicrously, overpriced, gimicky S Cover and waiting instead for delivery of a SPIGEN Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Case:
http://www.importitall.co.za/SF-COA...-NonSlip-Grip-Matte-Hard-C-ap-B00DCICXMU.html
Yea I have both and to be honest they don't let the phone sink in enough to protect the lens much. It's frustrating I spent 750 on this phone cash out of contract and there's already a couple scuffs and I baby my I phones. But I guess oh well but I will email samsung and at least let them document it

No reason to worry. I've had scratches on my cameralenses and phones before, yet it hasn't been noticable. Hell, even a crack has gone by unnoticed.
I have always wondered why they made the camera bulge out like that and offer no protection. I set it down very gently because I am so afraid of scratching the camera lens. I am still waiting on a decent case.

I just got the wireless charging back cover. It is slightly thicker so now the lens is only ever so slightly indented. Now it won't touch a table when you place your phone down on one... I like this!

The camera sensor is in no way sensitive enough for you to see those scratches on the photo's.
That said I use the Golla Swoosie wallet, and when I need my phone to be easily accessible or it's playing music, I use it as a soft bedding to put my phone on.

Because they wanted to make the phone thinner. The problem is that you just cannot make a camera lens (and focal distance) thinner easily, so you have to keep that at the same thickness.
So far I have no scratches on it, and I go naked, but the phone resides in its own pocket on my shorts. If you place it on a table, as long as the table really is flat and smooth, the cover will be slightly off the table because of the angle the phone rests at. If there is any debris on the table (or in your pocket), it can get scratched.
I also do not think these scratches will ever affect the photo quality, although that does not seem logical. I wear glasses, and mine are now old and have many scratches. I actually never notice them unless I deliberately try to focus on them.
Personally I would like to have an easily replaceable lens cover glass.

I keep mine on a screen cloth on my desk at work. At home it's either in my pocket or on my armchair arm, so it will not get scratched easily.

Samsung should have done a back cover that extented through the whole phone's back, the bump in the lower part gets scratched very easily, am i the only one? and yeah i dont use a case on my phone, a cover plate destroys the slim figure of the phone
The "bump" on the bottom of the phone does actually get a lot of scratches

It's because of this I bought a "case-mate barely there" case.
I've never had a case before and didn't want one for this phone because I didn't want to loose the thinness either. Very glad I did though. The phone is still very thin and (on the black case) has a nice matt, slightly grippy texture which I personally find preferable to the standard backing.

Looks real good, but it's a little expensive, is it worth it?
is the touch still fully functional now ?
I see this thread and shake my head.
Getting a decent case is the first step to protecting a phone that you just spend a lot of money on. It might make it a little less thinner, but it will offer better grip and allows you stop babying every time you set in the table.
As for the dude that broke the glass, that was probably like the one weak spot. GorillaGlass isn't supposed to scratch or crack. Just avoid putting the phone in the same pocket as your keys and you shouldn't need to waste money on a screen protector.
This thread is painful.

gorilla glass is NOT scratch proof, keys won't damage the screen but dust will , the kind of dust/dirt that it's usually on people's pockets
I only ever keep it in a pocket without keys or anything else so never worry about a case.
The phone was on the floor next to my chair charging up while i was watching tv, knocked a fork off the coffee table and you guessed it, right on the phone.
No screen protector is gonna protect against that happening lol.
Everything is working fine actually. just feels a bit iffy when sliding over the long cracks in the glass.
Will be going in for new screen under insurance claim as soon as i been on my hols. so stuck with it like this for a few weeks.
Where can I get one from?
Ok, so I've had the Note for only a week and just today I noticed three scratches on the metal frame around the back camera lens. I've really babied this phone and only kept it in my pant pockets. It seems that its really easy to scratch it. Anyone else notice this?

I just ordered this:
http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-TechS...KZ1G/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1322451048&sr=8-2
Hopefully it will be enough to alleviate my fears on setting the device down and getting it scratched(as well as when its in my jacket pocket with who know what else)
The DAY I bought my Galaxy Note it was put inside a protective pouch...
Been 2 weeks and looks like it was just unboxed...
I had the Galaxy S for one year before upgrading to the note. I carried it without screen or body protection on many pants pockets, backpack pockets, carried it to the beach, mountains...
After purchasing the Galaxy Note I gave it to a friend, and after a good cleaning, it looks as new. The screen is absolutely untouched. It only has a scratch on a corner of the metal on the border after a fall on concrete.
I don't know if the Note can endure this, for the moment I'll be very careful with it.
I just felt this is exaclty what is going to happen the moment I unboxed the phone. My solution was putting an old (but good quality - Vikuiti) screen protector so it covers the lens and surrounding plastic and carefully cutting around it with a hooked scalpel. Works perfectly.
As Cat Stevens said: "The first cut is the deepest'
It's just a phone.
Bear in mind how lucky you are that this is even an issue in your life.
Just a reality check.
I just expect that frame is gonna get scratched. Is what it is.
Anyone using this on their nexus? How about on the back side, which is what I am most interested in?
I've seen mixed results, but I really am hating the screen protectors I've seen so far. Ready to try something new.
Anyone know if this work effect the speaker or camera?

I'm interested in this stuff as well.. I can't imagine it's removable though..?
Personally, I rather know that I have put something down on the screen via screen protector instead of having to second guess whether I put enough liquid armor on, or whether I covered all the spots with proper amount. Just too much uncertainty.
edit: Just read that you have to REAPPLY the liquid armor every 6 months..... yeah for $25 a bottle, I don't think that's worth it.
Doesn't work. It's more like a polish than anything else.

Is this any different than Rain-X?
I decided to give it a try. I really just want the phone to not slide around on the back. I've seen reviews saying that this leaves a little bit if a grip or stick feel to it, so I'm hoping that will be the case. I never have scratched any of my old phones, so I'm willing to take a chance. I'll let you guys know when I get it and after a few days or use if I can notice a difference.
By the way it's only 14 bucks shipped off Amazon.
If anyone wants to do a real comparison and has some old phones lying around you could always apply this to one of them and start do a real scratch test so we can see if it works or not.

I would think it's glass since people have shattered their screens but I've read mixed reviews. Anyways, it would be awesome if you actually did do a real test. Not with a pair of keys or scissors, but a real one with sand. See if that liquid armor really does put a film over the screen

That's pretty much it, there's no scratch protection whatsoever from this stuff. It makes the glass slightly more grippy and fingerprint resistant. I have a bottle of it gathering dust on my shelf.
I've been using it on my nexus 4, front and back. Although after 10 days of use I don't see any scratches (even hairline), it just doesn't feel quite enough psychologically. I'll be buying a screen protector today. Just don't know which one yet. Any suggestions?
P.S. I also applied this on other devices, like my motoactv etc, and no scratches there either. So it looks like it works, but no way to say for sure.

Bought the bottle, it says 50 odd applications, v v v easy to use, zero tackiness or texture, put it on my N4 and my kids s3 and Note and the various tabs we have, it feels very smooth as good as naked screen and no sign of a scratch on any of the devices.
It's way way better than any screen protector I've ever had and I'm good at applying them, I hate the way they feel, attract grease and get covered in a myriad tiny scratches and that's if you manage to get bubble free.
I was gona buy a Spigen curved crystal for the N4 like I did for the s3 but liquid is better and a lot cheaper.
Hi folks!
I'm norwegian, so my english may not be 100% throughout this post.
I just got my Nexus 4 from my local operator, Telenor, and I have noticed some dust collection in the "gap" between the glass front ant the chrome bezel. I know this is beyond picky, but has anyone else noticed this, AND did a case like the official bumper help?
I haven't tried the bumper yet, since I live in Norway and it is not easy to get that stuff here, so I don't really know how much of the bezel it covers.
Also, how much does it cover the gap between the glass and the plastic compared to the Rearth Ringke Fusion?
Thanks!

I have the same issue - gap on the top between screen and metal frame. I clean it by swiping with a corner of thin paper (like check which you get when buy something). It annoys me pretty much as it is the only defect which i have.
Actually, I created a thread dedicated to this issue some time ago
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39123021
Hi,
Had to sent my Nexus 4 to had the screen replaced (it fell on the street.. face down..).
Touch screen was not working anymore. Glass was completely shattered.
I chose to had it repaired and got it back the same day.
Here's the strange bit;
I think I will call them again and have my Nexus 4 rechecked under warranty, as the phone did not have the gap between the glass and the frame/bezel before this. Now it's collecting dust, etc en I even see it in front of the front camera (so behind the glass!).
But.. I first want to make sure my original state did not have this problem. Will compare it to my colleague's phone, but she's out today.
Btw, what usually works for me to clean the earpiece, USB port, from dust, to take a piece of 'clay' (by lack of a better explanation) which is used to stick posters to the wall instead of tape.
It looks like clay/chewing gum. You stick it right in and it will get almost all dust and pocket lint out.

Just a small additional note.
With a screen not properly working, "OK, Google" with the extra funtionalities from the 'Commandr' app can get you a long way with still using the phone.
So I took a look at my lens today and almost fell off my chair, I was like is that what I think it is, sure enough I grabbed a magnifying loop and holly crap it was scratched like crazy. I've had a case on since day one from Version. Just wondering if this is a factory defect or cheap glass on our lens.

Not sure about the material. What you seen as the lens is not really the lens, its a protective cover. This camera has a faily wide angle lens and the minimum focus distance is waaaay looonger than the distance between the cover and the sensor. A scartch on the lens cover will have ZERO impact on your images. Dont buy into apples sapphire glass lens hype. I have old lenses with demolished front element that produce perfect images
But u had to get a magnifying glass?????

How does this happen? How do you cause cracks inside the glass?
Hopefully, it's just the slightly lower Q.C. from the first batch of G2's before LG ramps up production. Almost all newly-released phones have this issue. The Note 3 is having this wiggly home button issue. Either way, it's inexcusable for LG and it's good that you guys are letting us know about this. I plan to get a G2 soon and i'll be taking a very close look at those lens before i move out of the shop.

Same way it happens in gemstones, stress. I think I have figured out what is happening, if you put your phone in a place where it can flex ever so slightly, the lens glass touches the outside casing, causing stress and thats when the cracks appear. So if you put your phone in your back pocket and sit down, that would cause the phone to have flex, thus causing the glass to stress and cracking.
I think I found something that actually tells how this is happening. Read here

Not unbreakable, otherwise we wouldn't be able to cut it, same as diamond. Sapphire is 9 on the Mohs' scale of hardness, diamond is obviously 10, the hardest substance, but even it can break and scratch. The thing is the difference in hardness between 9 and 10, it's like 140 times harder, wow!
Your exactly right about the imperfections, if the edges are damaged, they are already doomed to crack, and you can't see it because it's smaller than the eye can see and it's in a frame. But if you look closely you can see the edge looks rough, unfinished, theres the problem.

I tired too (briefly) but theres only film on the surrounding bezel of the lens, not on the lens itself. Surprisingly enough, i thought at the bezel of the lens was blue..for 5 days!
