I got my first chance to play with this phone today, and I've been reading these forums for a while. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the row of shortcuts and select which toggles to display in the notification pulldown. It is too cluttered for my liking. I will probably root and re-rom the phone after I get it, but I am curious what modifications are possible on the stock ROM. I asked the guy at the store and he knows less than I, and my coworker with the G2 is a noob and I can't help her much with the GUI.
LG G2 Xposed on the play store is your best bet. You have to install Framework and activate that module using Xposed Installer on the xda forums.

Hi I'm going to buy the g2 but i really don't like these nav buttons/on screen buttons. Is there a way to hide them while in apps for example they will still be there but i would be able to see trough them, fully invisible or something like swipe up. Thank you and sorry for my bad english
I'm on LG G2 D802 and as far as I know there is no possible way doing this unless rooting your device of course. Then you probobly could use the app "GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys".
How do you hide it with a rooted device?

Get the gmd auto hide app from the play store and install. It's a little wonky for me though. Sometimes it just stops working and I have to relaunch the program. Not a big deal, just a little annoying.
There's a mod/ROM you can flash with the smaller navbar, I haven't tried it yet.

Or...
after you successfully rooted your G2 and want to remove it entirely, you may try this:

Thank you maybe i will use the app
So, what we're all thinking. At least.. Me.
I read the article about the AOSP toggles on the Xperias through Xposed, and now wonder, is this possible on the G2? I don't see why not. Would be awesome! I however have no knowledge off producing Xposed modules, so I can't help much with it.
Are there any devs out there willing to combat this?
Here's the original post.

I was wondering this myself. I like the 4.2 QS panel.
If you like the 4.2 QS panel, why would you want the AOSP ones? Assuming you meant don't like.
Yea I'm really surprised at dev work on the z1...the phone is no where as used as the g2. But I suspect the ui is recycled from the z and that's why it was easy to port the framework.

So let me begin by saying I am obviously new to this forum and I'm not sure if this post had already been made or answered. I couldn't find the "search subforum" bar anywhere. Also, why is there no dedicated area for the Sprint LG G2? (Maybe there is, idk)
Anyway, down to my request. Is there any way to add apps to QSlide? I've noticed other devices with QSlide have more (better) features. Such as QSliding the messages app. I'm rooted (iorootv11) on stock firmware and stock recovery.
Once rooted you can add in apps from the other G2 variants... For example AT&T and T-Mobile have a Qslide browser. I found the apk in the Verizon G2 section... I will post a link if I see it again. I tried to install it before rooting and the qslide feature didn't work ; after root I can shrink the browser but it's not a shortcut under Q slide apps in the notification tray. I'm currently looking for the messaging app. I'd love to have a thread to help Sprint G2 owners with this, as even the low end Optimus F3 has qslide messaging but we don't on our g2!!

Yes!
The QSlide SDK is now open for all.. So any developer can make his/hers apps QSlide compatible. Just need the devs to actually do it.

Keep in mind that you can't add any app to QSlide. The app must be specifically made to use QSlide.

Hello fellow forum members, hope you can help me a little with this. I had my first G2 (sprint version, gsm unlocked) that I had to return to sprint for a tech issue and just yesterday got my replacement. Anyways, on my old G2 I used novalauncher because I like the stock android look and dont like to flash new roms on it. Well, on the old G2 when using novalauncher both the nav and status bar where fully transparent and I loved how the G2 looked that way. But now with the new G2 I always get a white nav bar and black status bar no matter what settings I use. Was there a change to novaluancher in the month that I didnt use it? do I need to do something else to enable the transparent bars? my device is rooted btw. Thanks for your assistance!
Anyone? Any input would be greatly appreciated

How did you set up the transparency in your old g2? What I know is you can't set transparency in nova with stock 4.2.2. You have to used xposed.

Well I don't remember exactly what I did, but what I'm sure is that I didn't install exposed or anything like that....

I recently bought my g2 and I rooted and I have been using xposed to get the phone how I want it. I bought g2 settings and tweaks but I want to make the background of my settings black instead of white. Is there any way to achieve this look with another module?
I tried gravity box but it didn't have it either. I'm on the Verizon model if it matters
Thanks in advance!
Gonna bump this one time since I still haven't found a solution.
Anybody able to offer any help with this? It's the only real thing in missing to make my phone exactly how I want it.

Does any mod do this yet? The white is so horrendous.
Install a custom ROM with a proper theme engine and the fix is as easy as enabling Dark UI/Dark Mode.
For example, SlimKat, Mahdi, or Carbon.
