So, what we're all thinking. At least.. Me.
I read the article about the AOSP toggles on the Xperias through Xposed, and now wonder, is this possible on the G2? I don't see why not. Would be awesome! I however have no knowledge off producing Xposed modules, so I can't help much with it.
Are there any devs out there willing to combat this?

I was wondering this myself. I like the 4.2 QS panel.
If you like the 4.2 QS panel, why would you want the AOSP ones? Assuming you meant don't like.
Yea I'm really surprised at dev work on the z1...the phone is no where as used as the g2. But I suspect the ui is recycled from the z and that's why it was easy to port the framework.

Is there any means to extend the wallpaper underneath the Status Bar and Softkeys? I dislike the black banding, especially under the Softkeys. I know Paranoid Android does this but one reason I bought a Nexus was to get out of ROMs--plus I'd rather not waste space on ROM backups.
I have root and the willingness to muck about in the system APKs.
Bump.

Or, I could ask and see if any developer who already knows how this is done in Paranoid Android will tell me.
I would like to do this as well... is it possible without a custom ROM?
it needs framework modifications, but mods exist. evilisto made one if i remember that right.
i dunno why you would want one over a rom though. makes no sense. roms on nexus base on aosp and official vendors blobs. what you get is stock android plus features. you cannot compare it to roms on legacy devices which emulate android, need hacks and exploits.
ps. PA has per app coloring. this goes way past simple transparent bar on the homescreen.

Not 100% sure (still waiting for delivery of my N4) but doesn't the XYLON ROM do this?

heck no. pa is a playground for features you havent seen or known before, like hybrid engine. you wont find it anywhere else.
I got my first chance to play with this phone today, and I've been reading these forums for a while. I was wondering if it is possible to remove the row of shortcuts and select which toggles to display in the notification pulldown. It is too cluttered for my liking. I will probably root and re-rom the phone after I get it, but I am curious what modifications are possible on the stock ROM. I asked the guy at the store and he knows less than I, and my coworker with the G2 is a noob and I can't help her much with the GUI.
LG G2 Xposed on the play store is your best bet. You have to install Framework and activate that module using Xposed Installer on the xda forums.

Can some one create a flashable Mod for rooted stock rom, which allow to add and edit the quick setting panel as the CM has one?
This is the feature I most miss on my Nexus 5 by far with the stock rom, on my previous phones I had alwasy CM roms installt. Maybe I will also do with my current N5 when official nightlys are available.
Thanks in advance!!
Solution:
Install Xposed framework

And install Gravity Box

I highly recommend Cataclysm Rom, the best rom for Nexus 5 by far imo. It has almost every mods and tweaks you need except for theme chooser, etc.
I want the same. I want to keep stock rom as I love the pure aosp.

Stock is not AOSP. This is Google's version of Android. AOSP is the open source project that everyone works from.

I want Google ROM with a few mods. One being the quick settings mod. If anyone does this or needs a tester please let me know.

Google really nailed it with the Nexus 5 and 4.4. This is the first phone I am not running to root, unlock, and start flashing away stock. With a few *minor* tweaks such as quick settings customization it would be near perfect.
I want to add screen orientation and flashlight to the quick settings. Google why cant you just be smart!
Just use Power Toggles in the meantime.

I definitively will give it a try, it looks really interesting.
Just wait for Xposed Framework, lets you modify stock without reflashing, etc. It doesn't work yet since 4.4 breaks everything in it, but the developer will probably have that all fixed up by the end of the month if I had to guess.

I still don't get why Google didn't make this feature. The Quick Settings Panel hardly improved from Android 4.2. I would stay 100% stock ROM if Google added this feature, battery percentage (no not the crappy white one that's in there now) and long press volume rocker to skip tracks.

The stock ROM is absolutely perfect for me, except for 2 things. All I want is a flashlight and a rotation toggle in the quicksettings panel.
I know I can get an app to do it and put it in the notification panel, but I'd love to get them in the quicksettings panel.
Also, I'd want to keep ART so I can't use Xposed.
Basically what I'm wondering is, is there a flashable zip that adds those 2 toggles to the qs panel?
Bump

As far as I'm aware--although I could be wrong--no, there aren't any flashable .zips available. To do what you're asking would certainly require modifying the SystemUI.apk, and while there are plenty of guides for doing this on 4.3 and below, I'm not too sure those methods would be applicable for 4.4... Sorry, mang. Hopefully someone with greater knowledge can chime in with a true answer, but I honestly don't have one.
EDIT: In the mean time I'm going to keep looking into it for yah though. Kinda curious myself.

Yes. But, its xposed module with gravity box. I posted before I read you wanted to keep ART.

I am running Cloudy Stock and was wondering..... Is there any way to make my navigation buttons look like Android L? I've tried a soft keys app and some Xposed module that supposedly allows you to theme using a cyanogenmod theme but it was not what I needed. Any thoughts on how to do this? I don't really know how to decompile framework and and all that. Or have the time for that matter so I was looking for something relatively easy if such a thing exists haha.
