Hi,
When I plug the phone into my desktop or laptop and check for an upgrade as per the instruction that the software gives me I keep getting the following message displaying in a box:
ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR WHILE CHECKING FOR UPGRADES
PLEASE CHECK THAT THE STATUS IS NORMAL THEN TRY AGAIN.
Wondered if anyone can help on this.
Thanks in advance.
Mark
Bump. Help anyone?
Thanks.
Okay, this is not a help rather another user experiencing the same issue. It is stupid that the phone has to be connected while downloading the update and an along the way, an error is encountered. Tried several times without success. LG should do better.

I have searched on the forums but can't seem to locate a solution, I may have missed it so apologies if the first reply is to a missed thread
My S4 is on I9505XXUAMDD and when I connect to kies it informs me that an upgrade to I9505XXUAME2 is available. So as with previous phone I click to upgrade, it downloads the rom, decrypts it and then starts to download to phone and sits at 0%. the phone doesn't enter download mode so eventually times out.
Here is what I have tried
Kies is up to date. (2.0.0.13023_10) OSX version
Reinstalled drivers
reinstalled Kies
Rebooted so many times I lost count
Each time I get to the same point and nothing happens. My only thought is that I am doing this on a mac running OSX 10.8.3
Anyone else had this problem and/or found a work around (maybe I need to installed windows

Nope: "The software update service is not available. Maximum number of roll-out updates has been exceeded. Try later or update your device using Samsung Kies"
and I have tried for the update OTA on the phone for a few days.
Any thoughts?

Another day of trying various "things" for the 1000th time ..... Does anyone have any guidance here?
Hello,
I have updated my device via the software update after it was done I ended up with the "Android is upgrading- Starting apps " for few hours, the LG Tech support guy told me to factory reset, after few resets I get the LG animation logo again and again with no end.
(D802)
* What I did:
- Upgraded to latest via Mobile phone.
*Did not:
-Never rotted
-Never used any outside program .
I am sorry for my lack of knowledge in this subject if you have any questions that will give you better information for solving the problem please ask. For now I have a brick and I cannot find a way to fix it.
Please help me, thanks

If i was you I'd try to put the phone into download mode and re-flash it with the lg mobile support tool (via usb).
Good morning guys
I'll tell my problem
I have a G2 LG D802, running kitkat with root and several xposed modeulos.
Yesterday, i've installed the apk camera Xdabbeb, prior back up, then install and reboot the phone.
When I restarted it, does not pass the lg logo, it's trapped on a bootloop.
Try all the methods available, but I have no luck
With offline method, it starts, but when it reaches 15%, the program says i have to connect the phone, but the phine is already plugged in!!!!
All I can do is go into download mode, and when I try to open the LGUPDATE, I get a sign that says "please check your internet line, etc."
Do not know what else to do, im loosing my mind
I appreciate any help you can give me
Try to change the usb cable or try inserting it to different usb port.

Have you tried resetting to factory default settings? As for the LG Update tool, try reinstalling the drivers.
I've been trying to update to lollipop via Kies3 for an hour or so now and i keep getting a "cannot access the model information server" error message before the update can begin. After googling the error i have disabled my firewall, tried without SD card, Sim and even tried it in safe mode with networking! Has anyone had the same issue when trying to update and if so how did you fix it?
Thanks

I'm having exactly the same issue.
I'm guessing it may be due to a large number of people trying to download lollipop at once?
Me too
Me too, exact same error, anyone got any ideas what its all about?
Been trying all day now - same thing here...
Guess it must be due to high number of concurrent users !?
Read that OTA will be available here in the Nordics in about 15 days or so - lets see if we can beat that with Kies! :fingers-crossed:
Has anyone successfully updated to 5.0 today using Kies?

Yup same issue here, I thought i'd left all this behind when I jumped ship from Apple
Thanks. I'm going to call it a day. I've not seen one thread where anyone has successfully upgraded. Try again tomorrow

I got the same message until I disabled Norton Firewall and Antivirus... then it proceeded to the download... it is slow though...
So I tried rooting my galaxy note 4 (Baseband: N910AUCU1COC4, firmware version: 5.1.1) using KingRoot. After it was done it said that it was rooted, but once I rebooted it wouldn't go to the home menu
So I did some research and came upon Kies. I tried using that but it wouldn't even connect to my PC via USB
Then I tried Odin to try and install a stock firmware (N910AUCU1COC4 version 5.0.1), but everytime I did that it would just give me the fail message "SYS REV CHECK FAIL: Refer 2 > Binary 1"
Please help. I just want to be able to use my phone again. Is there nothing I can do?
keep in mind this is my first time using any of these programs and i'm extremely new to this. I'm really desperate at this point
any help is appreciated. thanks
Anyone?
Nevermind, I fixed the problem by flashing a stock rom with a different baseband (N910AUCU2DOI2) from here http://androidromupdate.com/att-galaxy-note-4-sm-n910a-stock-firmware/ and now it's working pretty much perfectly...
...except I don't have my mobile data anymore. Can someone help with that?
I managed to fix that problem as well using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faZArwrXIO4
