[Q] Enabling USB 3.0? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I saw in a video on youtube that USB 3.0 file transferring needs to be enabled in the USB PC connection menu in the notification bar upon connecting the Note 3 to a USB 3.0 port, but I've done so and I only have options for Media device (MTP) and Camera (PTP). Am I missing something? I'm 100% certain that the two USB ports on the left side of my laptop are USB 3.0 so it's not a lack of that,

I saw what you say, my only pc that has usb3 in work when I connected the phone in the phone appeared a 3nd option for usb3, I will make a screenshot when I go to work

If I connect it to USB 2.0, the last option is not visible.
You are sure you have USB 3.0?
Normally the port must be blue

Yes. As you can see in th attached image, and as I said in the first post, my laptop has two USB 3.0 ports. My laptop specs are here for further confirmation: http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/model-datasheet/NX.M1WAA.001
I plug my phone into those ports and do not get the third option for USB 3.0.
EDIT: Feel a bit silly now. Never thought to check my drivers... turns out for some odd reason my laptop was missing the USB 3.0 drivers. Quick install of them and everything is fine and dandy!

Fine

Got it working, I had to enable it on the bios

[Q] USB OTG adapter isn't recognised

Hi,
I recently bought this USB OTG adapter (Delock 65296):

Sadly, the device doesn't recognise anything I try to plug it in with. I installed Stickmount, didn't help. The same happens on my phone.
Any suggestions?
Pins 4 and 5 need to be shorted for Otg to work. That one is not compatible with our device.

If both your tablet and phone cannot recognize anything when plugged in, than it's most likely something to do with your cable.
Also, I know you say it's an OTG adapater, but the photo looks like it could just be an adapter. There is a difference between an OTG cable and a micro USB to USB adapter. I tried searching for the Delock 65296 but I could not get anything in English. From the looks of it, though, that might just be an adapater.
Wich kernel ???

[Q] How do I fix a hard bricked phone?

No combination of buttons show any signs of life, I've tried everything. The only thing that happens is that If I pull the battery and connect it to the PC it recognizes the phone as

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
When I pull the battery and put it back in and hold the vol buttons while connecting it to USB the computer keeps looping saying that the device is not recognized.
When I use the program from http://forum.legija.net/showthread....g-galaxy-S4-(i9505-and-similar)-via-USB-Cable
It says COM3 found, but clicking start doesn't fix the phone, or make odin see it.
So I downloaded the original firmware to use with odin but odin isn't seeing the phone. Any tips?
Only tip I have is to check out mobiletechvideos.com

Thanks, yeah that looks to be the closest I've come as well. I was hoping since the pc knows it's being plugged in maybe there's software that can fix it for free.
no. you need j-tag to fix.
your computer isnt seeing the right part of the phone to flash. your phone will show up as several different devices depending on what mode it is in.
the device you want to see in device manager to flash in odin is:
SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device
and its listed under USB devices, not coms and ports
Did you try using the debrick image? I am not sure that it will woek for s4. But as per some user it is working for s3 and note.

yes. that should work. The pins for dock at the bottom also have an audio interface
keep in mind charging will be slower if you run it thru a otg hub

MCX-1705AD bootloop

I have a problem with my Android car audio device.
It has a bootloop, I tried to boot recover but menu only shows "boot system now" and "apply update from adb". In the "now send the package you want to apply..." screen I tried to connect it whit an usb A-A cable but PC does not detect it (windows and ubuntu) Also adb via wifi not working. To get in this bootloader I grounded the RESET PWR COL0 and COL1 testpoints on the PCB. I also soldered wiring to TX-RX TX0-RX0 TX1-RX1 and GND and connect to PL2303 usb stick but nothing happens with tools like miraclebox or SP flashtool. I thought I was lucky to have one similair headunit to get the stock firmware from but I cannot get into it... Also tried to figure out if the USB_ID pin is grounded but I cannot find it on the PCB since almost nothing is labeled. Is there a way to get the USB in device-mode?
Some info can be found when websearch specdevice mcx-1705ad
Thanks for help!

I guess you need drivers for your computer to make it recognize the radio?

In windows, yes. I installed the vcom drivers. In ubuntu it should work without.
Please help me
recovery options missing
I tried many options to boot into recovery but the only recoveryscreen shows me this 2 options;
From the seller I have the "update.zip" file and tried via sdcard and usb stick but I don't know how to recover. ABD also not working because only have USB-Host ports... Am I out of options now?
Really nobody, I'm sure the knowledge must be on this forum!
