I updated to 4.3 a while ago, using fastboot without wiping the internal SD.
I have flashed a number of ROMs (carbon, psx, cm and I am now on pa), but poweramp keeps telling me that "too many failed files, playing will stop now?".
Occasionally it does work, I think after a clean ROM flash and media scanner, but I have no idea how to get it to work consistently. Music also works in other music apps, e.g. GP Music.
I've tried clearing data for poweramp and media storage, fixing permissions in recovery, wiping cache and davlik, moving songs off my phone and back on, but none work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Anyone able to get the music player to work in teamhacksung mod build 16?
I have tried everything posted to the board and nothing works.
Did u flash Symaphore kernel? Until i flash it, music app was working fine... but after flashing the kernel, it stopped working. So i cleared the data, & reboot....
Thereafter till now, it works smoothly!
No I left it at the default kernel.
Delete the Data from the App in the Appmanager. Solved the problem every time it occurred.

Yes, that worked perfectly. Thank you.
Hello guys, I use google Voice for my Voicemails. Ever since I got my Nexus 4 back in early December I couldn't get it to work. Even on stock without rooting.
I have tried many roms, and factory resets and as soon as I open the app it force closes.
Currently on Xylon ROM 16 and Franco Kernel 33
Gapps 20121212
Any help would be appreciated.
You've tried all the usual fixes right? Wipe app data, fix permissions, uninstall/reinstall the app? Also are you restoring the app & data with Titanium Backup (or something similar)? If you are, uninstall the app and go to the play store and install it from there. Are you restoring any system data with Titanium Backup (or something similar)? Not a good idea to restore system data especially if your changing roms.
In the same boat as OP. Haven't tried any custom ROMs yet. That was gonna be my next move, but it appears to be futile.
I've tried everything. Un install, install... Wiping data and such. And no I am not using Titanium Backup to restore.

Okay so, I hope this is temporary but I installed the apk with the version 0.4.2.54 and it's working with this one. I tried updating it via the play store and encountered the problem again.
I hope the next update will fix it.

I have some problems with my device, almost all applications are crashing: 'unfortunately the app stopped working' and sometimes it hot reboots by itself. The problem dissapers if i go in safe mode, i can download apps from play store, but when I reboot in normal mode and want to launch the app that I download it crashes again. I tried using the stock 4.3, 4 custom roms, different kernels, but the issue is still present, the phone is practically useless, I can only make phone calls on him..., everything else crashes. The problem is that I can't RMA ,because I bought the phone second hand.and doesn';t have warranty
and have you tried wiping data and running without any installed apps? then install one app at a time.. it sounds like it can be an issue with something that you installed.
Try downloading a stock rom, kernel, and IMG and flashing that. Sometimes stock fixes everything

Yes, I wiped everything in recovery ,even system too. After I log in in my google account everything starts to crash, gapps, UI, android keyboard etc. I tried making a new google account ,but nothing works, sometimes the play store works ,but I can;t download files larger than 4-5 mb, because at the end it says package file is invalid. In safe mode workes fine.
Sounds like you have the wrong gapps file. Or a corrupted one. Try a newer version.

Hey,
Well, I was trying to install the S5 music app (flash) and I did so, got FC constantly, so I clear app data, cache, recovery cache, dalvik. I then flashed the S5 music app hoping it would work fine, but when I booted up the music widget was gone, so was the app.
I checked my app folder and it isn't in there either.... Is there a way for me to get it back or is it lost forever?

Click to collapse
Extract rom files and copy music app.
have you root your device?
I think the s5 apps will only work on twizz kitkat rom so if you are still on 4.3 that might be the problem. Kitkat puts system apps in a different location AFAIK
