If you already have cm7 install with percys kernel you can flash hells fusion #50 because it supports ext4 partitions
if you are talking about getting mount errors when flashing percys kernel for first time just wipe system data cache then you can mount
don't flash any other kernel as I cannot guarantee its support of ext4 and you may get mount errors and require odin

[Q] ex3, ex4 issue

I now what ex3 and ex4 are. If we flash ex4 rom on ex3. It converts to ex4, When we do it vice versa, internal memory is 0. To solve it we have flash sbf. Is there anyway to fix it without flashing sbf??
All I know is that via the boot menu, it is possible to convert ext4 to ext3 without flashing any sbf. I tested this yesterday by downgrading from quarx latest nightly to wiui gb via a simple convert to ext3 from the boot menu, flash zip and wipe dalvik+cache. I have proper space in my system partition.

[Help] CWM & stock recovery showing errors

Hello xda. Not a newbie, but i am suffering from a strange problem.
My Cwm recovery seems to have been corrupted after trying to flash CM7.2 rom. I can't restore my nandroid backups, & can't flash any other rom. My stock recovery too shows following errors:
last log/dev/block
E: can't mount cache,
E: can't mount system & bla bla...
Anyone knows any fix for this?????????
the best is to flash a firmware complete new with odin.
Follow the instructions on cm7 thread
once you flash percys kernel you will get mount errors
just format system data & cache in cwm as you need an ext system partition

no...can't wipe..
if you want to using cm7...you must format data...system..cache in recovery...then flash kernel and flash rom
else you go to download mode and flash stock rom with odin

once you install the cm7 kernel you will get mount error because your file system is rfs

[q] data mount

Hi, my samsung galaxy y is bricked, the recovery mode shows that there is an error in mounting data, i am not able to flash a rom please help.
You haven't said what kernel you are using or your file system
if you have just flashed percys kernel you need to format system data & cache
so try formatting system data & cache in cwm (regardless of kernel)
After that try & mount again
if it still won't mount you can either
flash Whitexp kernel via odin as this can support all system partitions - you should be able to then format system data & cache
or flash stock firmware via odin (see dokys thread in dev section)

Format
Format data. Try flashing again.

can't boot.

I rooted the galaxy y, installed CWM, wiped cache and data..etc., installed a custom rom but the phone can't boot..stuck in bootscreen. I tried to change the kernel to CM kernel, and install a stable cm7, everything worked, but still no boot... what can I do?
what rom?

I've tried NukaRom V1.1.0 and CM7..happened the same..even with CM Kernel
Did you reboot to recovery after flashing kernel & mount system before flashing rom
Instructions to flash cm7
go to cwm
mount system
flash percy's cm #2 kernel
reboot to recovery
format system data cache
mount system data cache
flash cm7 zip
flash gapps (optional)
format data
restart
If you get bootloop remove sim card - if it boots change your stock rom firmware via odin
For stock based roms do as above but use a stock based kernel

[Q] Reincarnation not booting

I am using GT S5360. I have installed reincarnation pre final and it didn't passed the screen where samsung galaxy Y GTs5360 comes.
I followed the whole procedure but not working. Any help ???
Did you flash kernel?
Mount system?
Remember that naturalizer or touchwiz rom isn't for galaxy y
after you flash percys cm#2 kernel you must reboot to recovery and wipe system data and cache before you flash the rom
the steps are as follows
go into cwm
mount system
flash percys #2 kernel
reboot to recovery
format system data cache
mount system data cache
flash rom zip
format data
restart
if the rom still doesnt boot after that take out your sim card
if the rom now boots you need to change your baseband by flashing a different stock rom firmware via odin
I flashed the jellybean version... I have restored the backup now and i followed all the steps... I flashed the zip file of kernel, rebooted recovery, formatted system, data, cache and then installed the rom... But it stucks on bootscreen... Dosen't even show the bootanimation...

Do this :
1.Go to CWM,mount all the partitions and flash the kernel.
2.Reboot the system and take out the battery and then put it again
3.Again boot into cwm and format system, data and cache
4.Go back and wipe data and cache
5.Again go to mounts and storage and mount all the partitions
6.Flash the rom and after that wipe data
7.Reboot
And burrrrrah!
Your new rom is ready!
