Hello,
I was in the process of flashing a ROM for the first time and when I was flashing a custom recovery through fastboot, I accidentally flashed it over the boot.img instead of the recovery.img and as a result, I think I broke the bootloader and the phone doesn't get past the Dual Core Moto logo screen.
I have the ability to enter stock recovery and the fastboot menu, but not sure what to do from here. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Hmm just curious... I've never seen a RAZR m to have the Motorola duel core boot logo.... you do have a Motorola RAZR m xt907 and not like the og RAZR xt912/910 or the RAZR maxx?

Yes, pretty sure that I have the RAZR M.
I'm guessing you have an unlocked boot loader as you were trying to flash a recovery so...Download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=40682385 chose option one... once flashed... boot up device... once booted root it... install voodoo.. protect root... install update.. restore root... install custom recovery if desired...

Thanks! I was able to restore the factory VZ image through RSD Lite. I'll try the root process later.

I am just curious if anyone has figured out a way to root the M on 4.1.2 without having to unlock the boot loader. Thanks.

There is no way to unlock the boot loader on the RAZR M (retail). As for the Electrify M (which I presume you own), achieving root from unlocking the boot loader the only valid method.

Big news today on this topic involving @djrbliss (Dan Rosenberg), per droidrzr.com. My OMAP phone can't use this method, but I wanted to give people on this forum a heads-up. So go check it out!

Thanks. I just never could figure out why the electrify 2 was rootable without unlock on 4.0.4 but the M couldn't be.

I was recently on the official pac man rom for the droid razr m (4.2.2) and I wanted to go back to stock. I used RSD to do so with 4.1.2 fastboot zip. Now my phone boots up and gets stuck at the boot animation. Can someone please help me fix this?

I fixed the problem, I used option 1 on the Droid Razr M 1.20 utility. But now I can't root my phone with the utility or motochopper itself. Thanks for replying though! Can someone help with my root problem?
I have an razr droid m ( xt907) and i have rooted, but not unlocked and now i cannot get off the start emblem of motorola MMMM. I am a neewbeee and any help will do me good. I guess this is what i deserve but this is the only way i learn

Install superSU from the app store and see if you still get root access from apps.
It used to happen to me. Apparently the phone was rooted it just didn't have superSU installed.

I'm also having issues with the ota update. I'm rooted on 98.18.78 with locked boot loader. It fails about 30% then dead andy. I'm guessing the recovery is broken somehow. But I don't know how to flash the stock recovery if my bootloader is locked.

That's what I'm thinking to. It has a bad recovery. I tried using the old version of the RAZR m utility. But that didn't help at all :/

Hey guys. Sorry for this post. But a while back, I unlocked my xt907 using the SunShine S-OFF and unlock tool, and now I can't enter recovery in the bootloader settings. Literally, It justs hangs on the warning screen and then reboots with the Droid animation. I've tried reflashing the recovery image so much times now. So is there any way to fix this issue, or do I need to say that this phone's done for?
