hello i have the razr m. unlocked not rooted and it is not letting me take the update. i dont undertand why.. has anyone had this same problem? thank you
Install superSU from the app store and see if you still get root access from apps.
It used to happen to me. Apparently the phone was rooted it just didn't have superSU installed.

i tried it still nothing.. it says i have superuser already.. is this the reson i cant do verizon update?
I'm also having issues with the ota update. I'm rooted on 98.18.78 with locked boot loader. It fails about 30% then dead andy. I'm guessing the recovery is broken somehow. But I don't know how to flash the stock recovery if my bootloader is locked.

That's what I'm thinking to. It has a bad recovery. I tried using the old version of the RAZR m utility. But that didn't help at all :/

I'm trying to root the Verizon RAZR M via the motofail2go method but it isn't working. The bat file installed superuser as a system app but I do not have root. Does anyone know of any alternative method to get this thing rooted? I just want to be able to use all my favorite apps on this thing.

I just followed the video here
http://qbking77.com/
I am rooted on a mdk build. I was previously rooted and had twrp custom recovery. Ran bunch of roms then kinda got tired of messing around and always having to do a full wipe in order to try different roms so I uprooted and went back to stock completely.
It hasn't been a week and I already decided to go back to root and throw on a different rom. I rooted again, but am having a lot of trouble installing twrp and clockwork recoveries.
When I try goomanager I come to the screen to install the recovery and I get a "webpage not available" every time. When I try to do it manually I get a fail message. I just don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
Through clockwork, I install the recovery, and it tells me that it was installed successfully. I try to access it and I get the Verizon error message saying that unauthorized software was found and to shut the phone off and bring it to nearest vzw, Yea Ok!
So I'm lost at this point, anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Best way out of this.
Install CyanogenMod Installer on your desktop and plug your phone in. It will install cwm and custom rooted phone. As simple as that.
I did the same as you and this I found really easy and fast

I tried that it says my device is not supported

What I would do personally then is download Kies on desktop and do a full system restore. I lost my Recovery by going from routed to stock and couldn't do anything at all.
This sorted it all out.

Yea I downloaded and can't seem to find an option for a system restore

Don't use goomamager. Try this. Sorry looked through your first post again.
Download a cwm recovery, go to recovery and flash it through there. If that doesn't work then see if you can find a 'flashable in Odin' ROM that confess with CWM that comes with it. Try that. That will definitely work.

I would have done that but when I try and get in the stock recovery, I get the Verizon error messaging saying unsupported software. I can't get into stock recovery at all.

Same issue I had. I just went into download mode and flashed a CWM through Odin. Or a ROM through Odin. Keep trying that maybe

Any time I try to install recovery through Odin I get the fail message. Thanks for your help.

Odin the stock firmware and start all over. Root, then use rom manager or goo manager to put in the custom recovery. Then get rid of the manager.
I rooted my phone or at least I thought I did, but when I try to use flashing it says I don't have superuser access. I have successfully rooted a galaxy we and a HTC one xl, so I don't consider myself a noob. I guess I am to this device though. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

So this is not my first rooted device but it is my first time rooting my Razr M since it got upgraded to Kit Kat. It is also my first time installing Xposed so some help would be appreciated.
Yes is safe to install xposed... here is a nice collection of modules ... Be sure to unlock your boot loader before the next ota is pushed as when the next ota comes we may not be lucky enough to find a root method...

Is unlocking the bootloader necessary if i don't plan on installing any custom roms? If i needed to return to stock i could just use RSD right?

When the next ota update comes you will lose root and if there isn't a root exploit for that version with an unlocked BL you can always flash SuperSU via recovery and get root back... And yes rsd is an option to return to stock to accept the next ota

Alright. Thanks for the help.
But just to make sure, unlocking the bootloader is not necessary for Xposed right?
Correct.... But is strongly recommend
