This isn't a big deal, but does anyone know how to remove the weather and calendar widgets from the lock screen? I only see them when I get a text

Is it possible to add widgets or change things on the lock screen?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Yep as always very customisable being android but just now its limited by the number of apps and devs incorporating this new feature into their apps but it will get better as always with bigger name and Google apps making use of the additional flexibility

Yes. If you slide to the left or right, you will see a blank lock screen with a [+] icon. Tapping that will allow you to add widgets.
Thanks guys

Not on stock 4.2 yet. I believe you can with Widget Locker though.
Is there any way to see the content of the notifications in the lock screen on jelly bean without a lock screen replacement? Doesn't necessarily have to look like iOS, I just would like to see who writes and what for without having to unlock the phone (email/sms/facebook etc)
I would guess a lock screen widget could take care of this, but apparently there are none yet.
? There are widgets for SMS and gmail that go on the lock screen..

Not great if you use 3 gmail accounts, there isn't even space for enough gmail widgets let alone the rest sms, facebook or the others.

It won't let you if you use pattern locking without unlocking first.
How do I do it? All I can figure out is to add one per screen and swipe left or right to view the others. Any way to get multiple widgets on one screen?

So I have preview messages in lock screen and status bar checked on. Why is it that when I click on the message in my lock screen this blank box appears that I can't do anything with? Never had so many questions about a phone considering I get so many a year. I've attached a picture for reference.

It's a built in function. For instance, once you click on the text, you swipe in the box below and your phone goes right to the text.

From what I've been able to tell, the swipe on that lock screen is actually a widget. The box that sometimes appears is the area where the swipe trail can be triggered.
Swipe down on the message notification, then you can click on the text message notification on the lockscreen.

that helps, although I dont see the point in bringing the box up. Not like it really matters where you swipe as it will unlock.

Its no unlocking the phone by swiping the box down. Its "enabling" the lockscreen text messaging widget that google implemented in 4.2, because by default samsung overrode the aosp lockscreen with its swip from anywhere.

So does that mean there's no way to get rid of this box that pops up?

That is correct, there is no way.
I guess it's been awhile since I used my s3 and it's just something I will get used to.
very simple to get rid of that box...... but it requires using a different messaging app that is the only way right now until roms are built

Not sure if there's an option for that, but you can keep it running in the pull down notification bar and as a widget on the lock screen.

Yes I know, but sincerely I hate persistent apps notifications in notification bar... I have widget in lockscreen (and from some days ago the widget has change appearance, for me is very ugly...), but I prefer use complete remote from the app... However it's not a problem to click on a button after a few seconds, but if I can skip that screen can be better... Or delete also, and keep only remote

Yea I know what you mean. I actually use IR remote as well, it's handy as it opens straight into the remote after you have used one. I know some people don't like having more than one app for one purpose but it's free and work a look.
