since the kfire HDX is getting released and the original kindle fire is nearing it's second year, I thought that it would be interesting to pop up a poll to see how much people are still using the kfire (1st gen).
Me. Im not upgrading to the hdx, but i might win a ipad mini from the city council for doing a recycling mascot for the city.

Have had my 1st gen. for a year now and have updated to newest 4.3 and still never have had a issue that I can say wasn't unbearable. Daughters have the 2nd gen and thats a POS.. And never fails when watching movies or music... Im sticking with my 1st gen
Went for the 32GB Nexus 7 (2012), since it's cheaper and I think it's a nice upgrade to the kfire and I can put ubuntu too on it
I still love my first gen, it was a great cheap tablet, but sadly it is underpowered in today's market. Oh well I am rocking CM 10.2 that's good enough

I too have a first gen, and yeah it's a bit slow now in comparison. But I still use it and enjoy having it! I am using Jellybeer on mine after trying a couple of other roms that didn't turn out well. What rom are you using tfor CM 10.2? Jellybeer is only 10.1 that I know of.

It's available in the Amazon App Store, and there are 9 reviewers, so I'm venturing a guess that yes, it's playable on the Kindle Fire (aside from that 1 review saying that it's not playable).

I don't have the fire yet that's why I was asking , I am still making up my mind between it and nook tab ... But since cm is about to be rocking the fire I am almost certain I will get the fire ...thanks

You can get the Lenovo A1 for $169 brand new on Newegg. I don't know if there is an ICS build for it though. Another option is the Anovo or something like that. Also around $169 new.

I'd say that for now, the Fire is the best Android tablet for under $200.
This Hyundai device direct from China for $110 seems pretty good. Also available in black.

I actually did sell my kindle fire and stepped up to this - fantastic device for the money! Though the development community is no where as active as this one is yet.

there are several cheap ICS tablets available, I'd recommend uPlay tablet C70, it sports 1.2 Ghz processor, muti touch 7 inch screen, front camera that does full 1080p and has an HDMI port. The best part is that it comes dirt cheap at $79 with one year warranty!

Because it was 'Like New", 85$. So not too bad, but because its towards the purchase of a Nexus 7, its a good deal

When I tried CL, I had no luck. Also I prefer a quick sale.
I just sold mine for $150 pretty good.
Im going to move on to the nexus 7.

It seems like they made the kindle fire 2 just to get rid of all the leftover hardware that didn't sell. Did they even put a different processor in or is this one just overclocked?
Oh well, just means the kindle fire original is going to get that much cheaper and I can afford to stick 4 of them in my truck.. lol.

It depends on the quality of the 3GS, but a good condition used 3GS is worth ~100$. You can probably pick up another Kindle Fire for around there, so with the 25/50$ I'd say it's a decent deal.

Well, the 3GS has a brand new battery + screen, and it's supposed to sell for $175, but a new kindle fire is around $225 here in Australia.
The buyer knows how to root and stuff, so he's not extremely interested by the rooted-ness.
And the seller decided on $30.

3gs is a really old phone. Even my fiance's iPhone 4 runs like crap. I wouldn't take two 3gs's for any version of Kindle Fire.
