Looking to get a kindle fire for 120 to root and put Ics on it. Is there a better choice at the moment? So many crap android tablets its hard to tell what is good right now. The lack of Bluetooth is the only option the fire does not have.
Has anybody tried the haipad?
Pure ICS only
i suggest you hold off till google i/o and see if they release one for $199
Yeah I know been hearing it going to be around 150. But either way if I get the fire now I can sell it it for what I paid for it.
Pure ICS only

You can get the Lenovo A1 for $169 brand new on Newegg. I don't know if there is an ICS build for it though. Another option is the Anovo or something like that. Also around $169 new.

I found a kindle fire on Craigslist for $100 already had one so no use to me but look around there you should be able to pick one up cheap that way.

I'd say that for now, the Fire is the best Android tablet for under $200.
This Hyundai device direct from China for $110 seems pretty good. Also available in black.

I actually did sell my kindle fire and stepped up to this - fantastic device for the money! Though the development community is no where as active as this one is yet.

Maybe nook tablet? im just waiting to see if they make a kindle fire 2, and if it has features that the first kindle fire is missing
Have you found a 10" tablet with ICS in that price range? Quality build, even if generic or name brand.

there are several cheap ICS tablets available, I'd recommend uPlay tablet C70, it sports 1.2 Ghz processor, muti touch 7 inch screen, front camera that does full 1080p and has an HDMI port. The best part is that it comes dirt cheap at $79 with one year warranty!

I think its weird that the Amazon Store app is not compatible with the Nexus 7.
I would think Amazon would prefer to make it as easy as possible for all of us to order merchandise from their site.
I guess I can side load it but weird.

Its not weird. The Devs are slow, and haven't made the Amazon Ap compatible with Jelly Bean yet.
That being said, why whould anyone use the Amazon Ap store when they have the Play Store?

It must be that they are waiting for a "tablet" Amazon app, but where the hell is it? Seriously Amazon....

A few apps offer slightly different, Kindle Fire-optimized versions on Amazon. Given the near-identical screen size, these work quite well with the Nexus. For instance, the Play Store version of the excellent rss reader Feedly is clearly for phones, while the version on the Amazon Appstore is Fire-optimized and looks much nicer on the Nexus. Presumably this will change over time as more people develop with the Nexus in mind.

Why do you want to get stuck in the lame Amazon Shopping app when you can load up their site on browser? I have it on my Incredible2 phone but avoid it and rather shop via the phone browser instead, it doesn't make shopping experience any easier....

Umm, ya. There isnt a tablet amazon app. I doubt they will make one ether. Why would they? The current one works fine. Plus they have their own tablets with all of their great services integrated and optimized. Really, if you want the best amazon apps buy a fire. End of story.

Yes, there are two different apps being talked about BUT to respond to the above comment... the Amazon AppStore has a free app every day. Most days it is a crappy game but a couple times a month, they have something good on there for free. It is worth it to check daily for a good deal.
Hey gents,
I would like to purchase a 2nd kindle fire for a family member, is the best price on amazon and is this considered the original kindle fire or is this the kindle fire 2?

That would be the 2nd gen Fire as it states "40% faster than the previous Kindle Fire"

It seems like they made the kindle fire 2 just to get rid of all the leftover hardware that didn't sell. Did they even put a different processor in or is this one just overclocked?
Oh well, just means the kindle fire original is going to get that much cheaper and I can afford to stick 4 of them in my truck.. lol.
like google gave you on the n7?
Unfortunately no. I was hoping they would do that again, but it appears that was just with the Nexus 7.

The $25 Credit that came with the Nexus 7 was intended to help promote Google Play and get you started using the service.

Maybe it was only in certain countries (I'm in the US.). I can imagine these types of deals with the movie industry are quite complicated.
I opened the built-in Movies app. It showed up on the top under My Movies.

I'm in the UK and the Ice Age movie is listed under "my movies" could be a regional rights thing as to whether or not you get access to it.

As nice as that would have been, it wasn't just to familiarize new users with the service. It was to get them started on the habit of spending money in the store. Google Play was still only a couple of months old when the N7 came out. Including gift cards with the (then) latest Nexus device just made sense in promoting the service.

Hey,
since the kfire HDX is getting released and the original kindle fire is nearing it's second year, I thought that it would be interesting to pop up a poll to see how much people are still using the kfire (1st gen).

I too have a first gen, and yeah it's a bit slow now in comparison. But I still use it and enjoy having it! I am using Jellybeer on mine after trying a couple of other roms that didn't turn out well. What rom are you using tfor CM 10.2? Jellybeer is only 10.1 that I know of.
