Thanks for your suggestions, I changed the smtp server to a different one and it worked. This was a none ssl server, the one I initially tried setting up was a SSL smtp.

Possible sync with 2 different exchange Server?

How can i sync my xperia with 2 different exchange server??

ASAIK I don't think you can do that. You can have multiple e-mail accounts but only one of those can be Exchange.
I had the same problem when I had one exchange server for my email (home) and one exchange server for my calendar (office).
Had to chose either or.
You can sync one exchange server (email for ex), then have your calendar syncd thru an active sync partnership on your machine.
wm only does 1 exchange account sync
but you can view another account through web access OWA
you can also use "Chronobis"

This is not actually true. Its is possible to sync windows mobile to multiple exchange servers with a simple little registry hack.

**** this may require that you delete your email account and reinstall it !!
step.1) after you have entered your email Addy and your password.
Step.2) Choose manual setup you will see the tab for exchange choose it .
step 3) the only thing you have to change is the server address it should
m.google.com
step 4.) you will this get a pop up to allow secure link certificate .
it will also ask you questions about push Schedule for peak and non peek hours. i did it on mine and i have push email on all my accounts now .......

Awesome!
I wanted to use Samsung native email(looks better on sgt) rather than gmail native apple, but the lack of push was the big down for me.
now I can use sgt native apple with push function. Thanks a lot. U r the man!
I tried the other method before, but it was too trick and i had to use my existing exchange account..
This method is very easy and simple+ works like a charm!
Ps . I had to play some time to iron the calendar stuffs though.

Good tip but posted in wrong section maybe? Galaxy Tab General is probably a better place for this I think, as it keeps the dev section clean.
Gmail is push only when it goes through exchange server client.

when choosing exchane instead of pop3, what should i put into domain/username?

should it be \geez or geez or [email protected] or what?

Sorry, that is wrong! The native Gmail app is push. You only need to use exchange activesync for apps other than the Gmail app.

Dave
Thanks Dave! I am glad you cleared that up.
And just to reiterate yes, the native Gmail app USES push. Not sure what is gained by using the Microsofts Exchange Protocol vs. what is available by default; seem like the original poster may have not realized that he was taking the long way to do the same thing that's offered natively by the Gmail app. Moreover, one could argue that the mail app has less features than the Gmail app, i.e. priority inbox, searching, etc...

what about configuring other kind of emails (non google ones) and get push for them?
if you want to get hotmail and live.com push follow this:
server: m.hotmail.com
username: [email protected](msn.com,live.com)
password: ********
domain: empty
email: [email protected](and so on)

Actually my email provider is LIBERO...
K9 seems to have built in push capabilities...but the stock mail app in the GT is gorgeous!
Or...is there any way to split the page, in K9 mail app, into list email and selected email preview in landscape mode as the stock mail app does?

Does LIBERO provide a push email service?
If so, what "type" of push?
The stock apps allows for Exchange ActiveSync, and IMAP IDLE (which is pseudo push).

Dave

I love push service with my Galaxy Tab

Push Service from my Email Server to Galaxy Tab (or other Phones which supports Exchange)
is so great!!
Every change of my Outlook Contacts, Calendars, Mails will automatically pushed to my Tab
over GSM or WiFi, without connecting the Tab to a computer with Kies or other Sync Software.
All you need is a
1. Linux Server i.e. Unbuntu 10.04
(Apache,MySQL,PHP5,postfix installed and working)
2. Zarafa collaboration Server (Exchange like Mailserver)
(Provides POP3, SPOP3, IMAP, SIMAP
100% MAPI stable Outlook Sharing
Outlook "Look & Feel" webaccess)
3. Z_Push
And the best... it's all free.
Seems like a rather convoluted way to achieve something that can easily be done just by having a Gmail account!
Regards,
Dave
As it was said, you can have the same much easly by configuring your own domain under google.

Having a gmail account isn't a solution for lots of peeps with corporate exchange based email systems. Especially for those that only allow active sync access with no pop or imap.
There are several direct email clients supporting active sync, including the 'built in' android email clients. For example,Touchdown works quite well.
Another proxied-like solution that is a bit simpler than the above is DAVmail http://davmail.sourceforge.net/ This does require OWA on the exchange server, but owa being 'on' seems more common than exchange servers with pop or imap support. DAVmail can get rid of one intermediate 'hop' in the above solution.

Yes, we know that - we're commenting on setting up your own pseudo-exchange server setup just to gain push email!

Nexus 7 and IMAP E-Mail Issues

I've been trying to setup my work email with the native email application.
We have an IMAP setup; all my incoming server settings are correct, but the app returns "username or password is incorrect." Everything is functioning normally on our server and I am able to login to my email from my Galaxy Nexus, Linux environment, Windows environment, in our office, and via VPN outside it. Any ideas?
Just a guess, but have you double checked security option?
I have 4 IMAP accounts on 3 different servers working no problems.
Sent from my Nexus 7b using xda premium
I HAVE THE same issue with Just host my domain name..
the settings i use a re
user --- me.me.com
login -- me.me.com... no just me
also choose imap at the begining of setup..
but make the imap server mail.me.me.com
this is how i get mine to work on android.. Do not know if its the same issue for you or not but it helps me..

Change DNS settings for mobile data without app?

Is there any way to alter some file of the system, so it is possible to use Googles DNS servers, rather than the ones provided from the carrier via the APN? It is SO annoying to not be able to get access to DNS blocked sites while I'm not home and connected to my WiFi - my router is setup to use Google DNS.
I know there are apps for it when rooted but I'm looking for a more clean method.

Hvilsted
