What are the button combinations to enter recovery on this phone? I have googled and looked in other threads, but it apparently is just assumed everyone knows this.
Thanks in advance

If you are rooted, Titanium Backup, Goo Manager, Power Reboot...These are all applications in the Play Store. As far as using the buttons, I am sure they have worked out the issues using the hardware buttons, but I don't do it that way. Hope this helped!!
For TWRP press and hold the power and volume down button. When the LG logo pops up let go for a second and press the combo again. You'll be prompted to press the power button 3 times to wipe the device. Then It'll boot into TWRP without wiping.

Flash back to stock is the only solution. Been there done that. After you get rooted and newest twrp you won't have to worry again going forward.

If you have the Verizon version, do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
If you have any other version (AT&T, ect), do this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
thank you so much for your fast reply.
what I need and meant by recovery mode is where i can format the rom and restore the factory setting when i fail to log in the operating system ( usually was VOLUME DOWN AND POWER BUTTON to get it ) but this method is not working here.

Hello,
I'm having a issue with Custom Recovery.
I've tryed to install both (CWM and TWRP).
The thing is when I turn off my device to
turn it on again pressing Vol Up + Power + Home I got a message saying "Recovery Booting". But the recovery doesnt start, instead my phone vibrate and begins to boot normally. It doesnt enter in custom recovery mode.
I was hoping someone could help me on this.
My device:
Stock ROM
Root (Edited to get rid of Custom status)

Does anyone know how to unistall a custom recovery or have any idea why this is happening?
By the way I followed this steps

Are you letting go of the power button when the device vibrates?
This is how I get in recovery...while phone is on, long press power button for power menu, press restart...than only hold the volume up while it restarts and nothing else, it will than boot into recovery

have you tried re-flashing the recovery?
Have you tried downloading one of the simple reboot tools that let you choose to reboot recovery?
Thanks for the help guys.
So I tried enter in recovery thru CWM option (Restart in Recovery) it worked.
But it doesnt work when I try manually (vol up + home + power). I really dont know why.
I'm afraid flashing a custom rom doing this way, because if something goes wrong I wont be able to acess the costume recovery.
Is there a way to unisitall the custom recovery?

This is actually a common problem for some reason. There's an easy workaround:
Long press the power button and choose "power off". Give your phone a few seconds to turn off completely. Once it's off, press and hold these 3 buttons at the same time: POWER+VOLUME UP+HOME. Look at the top left of the screen - as soon as you see little blue text saying entering recovery, let go of all buttons immediately...but be ready...if your phone vibrates (it might be trying to reboot normally again), press and hold those same buttons again until you see the blue text again...then let go immediately. Now you will see your recovery!
Alternatively, when I'm not on a custom ROM that has the reboot options mod built in, I use this app to get to recovery/bootloader easily:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.siriusapplications.quickboot
Okay so I have the cyanogen mod flashed on my s4. But for some reason now it won't boot into cwm recovery. Any ideas?

In Developer options, enable the Advanced Reboot.
The 3 button combo will work, it's just a matter of timing. Remove and replace the battery, hold vol up + home, then power, holding all three, and when it vibrates, let go of power only.
You could also hook up in USB Debugging mode and issue the command:
adb reboot recovery
And if you don't have a developer option go into about phone and tap build number 7 times.

Some people, including myself, cannot get it to work with the standard procedure...the solution is to basically do it twice. Here's a copy/paste of the instructions:

Look at the top left of the screen - as soon as you see little blue text saying entering recovery, let go of all buttons immediately...but be ready...if your phone vibrates (it might be trying to reboot normally again), press and hold those same buttons again until you see the blue text again...then let go immediately. Cool
CWM recovery only requires you to push the volume up key and then press the power key until the phone vibrates and then let go of the power button only. When the blue lettering appears, let go of the volume up. The home button should only be required with TWRP.

Whatever the reason, that is not the case with my phone and many others. I've read several threads of people having the same issue. I'm not sure if it's an issue with the OUDHS CWM w/ auto-loki or what.
I've never heard of letting go of the power button only while still pressing volume up, but I gave it a try just to see...it did get me into CWM recovery but only after doing it twice, similar to the method I wrote above.
I have tried letting go of both volume up and power (no pressing home at all) and never found a way to get into recovery.
Anyways, it seems there's no harm in pressing the home button either way and it's probably easier than letting go of the power button and still holding volume up...and easier to explain too lol.

My minor issue is that when I boot to recovery (twrp) it get to the twrp splash screen then freeze. Takes me another reboot or two before recovery really launches.
Tried reinstalling recovery and fixing permission, etc.. but same deal. Anyone have thoughts on this?
I boot into recovery all the time but I have to hold volume up and home button.
Bump!
I'm having the same issue. What I did was that I had the CWM recovery installed and tried to reset the flash counter. Now the phone won't boot into the recovery, it just boots up as usual when I press vol up+home+power up. I appreciate any help! :/

Can you get the blue text in the upper left corner of the screen to appear at any time?
In my case, trying to get into recovery via the 3 buttons is a matter of very precise timing if I try pressing all 3 buttons at the same time. The instant I see the blue text I let go of everything and it works. Hold it for even a fraction of a second longer and the blue disappears and it goes into a normal boot. It works much better if I press Vol Up, then add Power, then add Home. I'm doing that sequence fairly quickly but the point is I'm not trying to press 3 buttons at the exact same time.
But I'm using CWM so I don't need the 3rd button...
From a powered-down state I hold Vol Up then Power and hold both through the vibration until the blue text appears and it goes into CWM recovery just fine. There seems to be a bit more leeway in terms of how fast you need to let go this way although I just tested and holding about a half second too long caused it to bounce out of recovery and do a normal boot. Let go immediately when you see the blue.
Phone won't boot..
So after using CASUAL, my phone rebooted, and got stuck on the splash screen with RECOVERY BOOTING.. in the top left corner. I pull the battery, try to do a normal reboot; takes me to the same screen. Trying the 3 button combo for recovery; same thing. Any suggestions?? I am NOT on MF3 Firmware.
**EDIT** Should have looked into it more before posting, but Found my solution returning to STOCK

LG G2 Rebooting into Recovery
If you have TWRP installed already:
Method 1: In a terminal emulator as root type "reboot recovery"
Method 2: Using an app like Quick Boot
Method 3: Hardware buttons on the G2 - From a power off state hold Power and Volume Down. When you see the LG logo continue holding volume down and release the power button and press it again. It will bring you to a factory reset screen. If you have TWRP installed confirm a factory reset and it will take you to TWRP without wiping your device. If you do not have TWRP installed DO NOT DO THIS if you want to keep your data.
This works on my Verizon G2 but I believe the method is the same for Sprint.
I am so confused OP. What is the problem again? You didn't give any description to the issue or concern.
Doing research I have pre-order ed my G2 I currently have a s3 I do a lot of flashing. I want to be informed on the how to. I used to have a optimus g and I did achive root on that device. But I bricked it trying to get recovery. Dont want to make the same mistakes. .

The Sprint method is slightly different. From http://support.sprint.com/support/tutorial/Perform_a_hardware_factory_reset_LG_G2/49589-396:
With the Volume Down key held, press and hold the Power key.
Release both keys when the Home, Back, and Menu keys light up

I do not know if this has been covered and I missed it, or if it is even possible. I was trying to boot into recovery to clear the cache. I have the T-Mobile V20. I can get it to the factory reset screen, but it only deletes the data on the phone. Does anyone have any information on how to do this, or what I am missing? I appreciate the help. Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
You gave to have TWRP to do that. Haven't gotten that far yet. Phone is brand new. Give it 2-3 weeks.

What exactly are you talking about when you mean recovery? I mean you are able to get into a recovery mode screen that lists things such as 'reboot to bootloader', 'sideload from adb', 'sideload from sdcard', 'factory reset', and like a cache clear. But I dont know if that's what youre looking for.

Go to settings, then general, then storage and click on internal. You will see the cache and clear it after it calculates.
open developer options, enable usb debugging, and with adb on your PC type adb reboot recovery then hold power and volume up when the little android dude appears.
He may be referring to the OEM stock LG recovery. In the stock recovery you can wipe data/factory reset or clear cache partition. You can get to this recovery by using certain button combos before there phone powers past the bootloader.

OR, from Terminal Emulator just "reboot recovery"
i found the button combination to get into recovery mode.
Start by turning off your phone.
Don’t reboot it – just press on the Power key and select “power off” or press and hold the Power key for a few moments.
Wait while the shut down process is completed.
Then, press and hold (at the same time and for a few moments) the Volume Down and Power buttons.
When the LG Logo is displayed, release the Power Key but keep pressing the Volume Down button; while doing so press only once the Power button.
Release all the keys as soon as the recovery mode menu is displayed on your LG V20.
I have tried multiple versions of the combinations on my tmobile one and can never get into my twrp that way. I just use titanium backup for now

Make sure you have the latest TWRP installed. 3.0.2-1 I believe. From off its vol down+power, see LG logo let go of power for 1 second then push and hold again(so both buttons will be pressed again, not just vol down) select "yes" to both options that pop up, (and no it won't wipe anything.) It will boot into TWRP as soon as you select yes to the second option. I have TMO as well and it works every time. The latest TWRP is the only one that u can boot into recovery from powered off

No when you do the button combo properly a while screen will pop up and ask if you want to factory reset. You select "yes" both times and you will boot into TWRP. You have to have the latest 3.0.2-1 TWRP installed in order to get to recovery from power off. The button combo 100% works. Again, vol down + power. When you see LG let go of power but not vol down for one second and then press and hold power(now both buttons) until that white screen pops up. If it doesn't, you either don't have TWRP installed or not the latest version.
You manually installed TWRP, correct? Are you rooted?

Just tried it again and still couldnt do it with the buttons. Used titanium backup to boot into twrp and its the correct version as you said. Am I doing the button combo on the 1st LG screen or on the 2nd one that pops up after the screen that says cant verify boot press power button to pause boot? It should be on the 1st LG one that shows up based on what I've read so far but maybe I'm mistaken?? No clue at this point. You said release for a second and ive done that plus many other variations of timing and I just plain suck at this I guess lol.
So a Tmobile update came on my phone and I decided to click update for some stupid reason... Its early.
I was stock rooted with TWRP installed.
After clicking that it rebooted and went into TWRP recovery. Whether I reboot or turn off and manually go into recovery I can't get it to reboot normally whatsoever.
I tried to flash WETA rom and everything went properly with the install but affter the reboot I am still left with TWRP.
Any suggestions on how to get my phone working again. I am downloading the 10i KDZ file now but was hoping there was another answer.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Power off or pull battery for a sec.
Hold vol down and power button - as soon as you see LG logo - release and immediately re-press power button only while continuing to hold vol down.
Factory reset screen will come up if you did it right. Use vol down to select YES twice to factory reset. ( It won't really reset anything but the recovery boot trigger ).
You'll end up in twrp. Just select reboot system and profit
