destinator3

does anybody install the destinator3 on an XDA II? the install programm can't found the memory card, can see only the main memory and the virtual the memory of 14,5mb.

I think a patch has been released for use with activesync 3.7.

I used the patch for destinator3 from the destinator2.com web site but doesn't change, I was got the same problem with the destinator 2 software, I can install the program but I can't install the maps on the secure digital card.

If I remember correctly, I think it is possible to copy the maps to the storage card without using install, just put card in card reader and copy files as usual but make sure directory structure is correct.

I tried but the card is protect from writing! you can do it only with a brand new card, I tryed to format the card but it writing protected, do I could put it in a boiler or in a microwave to restore it?

I wouldnt bother with the microwave or the boiler, a melted card wouldnt hold maps. Check if the switch on the card is in correct position. You should be able to format the card, if you cant format or write to it then I suggest it may be faulty/broken.

I know, the switch is in the right position, and is the same with both cards one 256 and one 128mb.
I wrote to the destinator help desk and I'm waiting for a reply, I hope they found a solution.

ho fatto l'aggiornamento sul sito destinator1.com, mi è arrivato in 24 ore, troppo simile a tom tom ma è un gran bell'oggetto, funzionasse!

This the answer of the Destinator support team:
Please follow the instructions below if you experience any problem with selecting Storage Card under 'Select Target Device' in the Installer.
1. On the original Destinator CD ROM, open a map folder, for example America.
2. Select a folder with a map you want to install i.e. USA-1etc.
3. Open the selected folder and unzip USA-1.zip
4. Sync your PDA with PC. In the root directory of your PDAs Storage Card create a folder Paradigm
5. In the folder Paradigm, create a folder with the same name as the one you selected on the CD ROM i.e. USA-1 etc
6. Copy all files from unzipped folder incl. WCE.Txt into the new folder on your Storage Card

deleting all personal data

Is there is a way to delete all personal data without a hard reset?
Does anybody know were the email's SMS agenda -files are located?

try sktools that allows you to remove all personal info, but why not just remove it by hard resetting? Or have you bought a phone that has software installed that you want to keep, but once you change the owners name most software will ask for code again.
to remove the phonebook go into my device using file explorer and rename pim.vol to pim.bak and soft reset then all the contacts will be removed
to remove text messages open messages and delete them all

..it is the easiest thing to do..
hard reset requires you to install all progies again.., yes you can make a back up .. still that's 'harder' than renaming the contacts file..

I can't install Igo8 on my Rhodium - can you help?

I have Igo8, official, and have inserted the SD card into my Rhodium.
It starts installation procedure, I click yes, but then I get some sort of blue Igo welcome screen, it says in the bottom right corner "starting API" and then nothing appears, and it gets back to manila home screen.
Igo doesn't appear in the "remove programs" list, but appears in the programs list - also with an entry which states "remove Igo application" and then I can only click into Igo to start it from program menus, but it says that another instance is running and closes. I just can uninstall it.
I have officially bought it but how can I make it run?

take a look here...the info in WWE sys.txt file you have to chage is the device name: change into "touch pro 2"

I need for work to store all my mail on the SD (text and attachments). Currently, synchronize outlook, I have problems of internal memory (tense mail> 150 Mb). I need to store the mail text in sd.

2.- In active sync, you have 4 "folders" you may choose the last one.
3.- Then, the first one

5.- In the electronic mail, choose electronic mail configuration
6.- Select all messages - HTML - all messages - Check include attachment
files and choose folders to sync.
7.- Select the folders do you want to sync with outlook.
That's all.

i mean this with all due respect... but how does that save to the SD card? that just explained how to sync the folders on his outlook...

There is possibly one way of doing this, but you have to be comfortable with registry tweaks. I do not know how to make cabs of registry tweaks so maybe someone will be willing to do so if you are not comfortable.
The solution is simply adding a String value named PropertyPath containing the new mail directory path to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ MAPI in the Registry. This value should contain the directory on your storage card you’d like to store your synchronized mail on. The directory doesn’t need to be manually created; it will be automatically created upon the first mail synchronization
So be ready with a new folder on ur SD card and that path will be writen in the registry up top (i.e. storage card\my documents\email)
Also, to relocate mail attachments, you’ll need to also add a String value AttachPath to the same key (so same path as your email)
U can use registry edit or total commander i believe to do so (i recommend registry edit)

Just open outlook, click on Menu, select Tools -> Options on the Options screen go to the Storage tab and check the "When available, use this storage card to store attachments" checkbox.

why don't you just store the attachments of your email onto your sd card, and let the mails themselves retain on the phone? there is an extra option for this! Or do it like i do and connect to and exchange server, and just download what you need, that is faster anyways...

No, because there's a problem on the HD2 where it sometimes tries loading the mail before the storage card gets mounted, which breaks everything.
There are several threads just about this matter discussed these days, and no reliable solution exists so far. Search for it.

Excuse me; if you follow my steps, you'll able to storage your attachment or whatever n your storage card. I did from 2001, and always is the same, do not dude.

And that's to solve one problem, I'm not looking to get 50€, just to be helpfully, that' all.

this means: "The application storage of contacts (com.motorola.contacts process) is interrupted unexpectedly. Try again" and it gives the option to force close
This is a pain in the ass because I have already configured everything, can someone upload which apk must I push to system/app with the correct permissions in order this to work again?

I got it also. No explanation why, after rooting and deactivating some useless apps (yahoo, Zinio etc.) appeared. Only reinstaling whole system help me to solve this problem...
