does anybody install the destinator3 on an XDA II? the install programm can't found the memory card, can see only the main memory and the virtual the memory of 14,5mb.

I think a patch has been released for use with activesync 3.7.
I used the patch for destinator3 from the destinator2.com web site but doesn't change, I was got the same problem with the destinator 2 software, I can install the program but I can't install the maps on the secure digital card.
If I remember correctly, I think it is possible to copy the maps to the storage card without using install, just put card in card reader and copy files as usual but make sure directory structure is correct.
I tried but the card is protect from writing! you can do it only with a brand new card, I tryed to format the card but it writing protected, do I could put it in a boiler or in a microwave to restore it?
I wouldnt bother with the microwave or the boiler, a melted card wouldnt hold maps. Check if the switch on the card is in correct position. You should be able to format the card, if you cant format or write to it then I suggest it may be faulty/broken.
I know, the switch is in the right position, and is the same with both cards one 256 and one 128mb.
I wrote to the destinator help desk and I'm waiting for a reply, I hope they found a solution.

This the answer of the Destinator support team:
Please follow the instructions below if you experience any problem with selecting Storage Card under 'Select Target Device' in the Installer.
1. On the original Destinator CD ROM, open a map folder, for example America.
2. Select a folder with a map you want to install i.e. USA-1etc.
3. Open the selected folder and unzip USA-1.zip
4. Sync your PDA with PC. In the root directory of your PDAs Storage Card create a folder Paradigm
5. In the folder Paradigm, create a folder with the same name as the one you selected on the CD ROM i.e. USA-1 etc
6. Copy all files from unzipped folder incl. WCE.Txt into the new folder on your Storage Card

i have a tytn with a big problem; in fact it does not start, it is blocked in the start page (them with Htc logo).
I try to reset it some times and also to change battery!
I cannot do an hard reset beacuse i have some data in the pda!
If i put it on bootloader mode is possible to recover it (only some data?)

Ok, here's what you need to do...
1)Open your hood and check that battery connection, if thats good then proceed.
2)Check all your spark plug wires and make sure they're all fastened properly and no cracks/tears in them that would be causing them to short out. If they are good then maybe you should pull one out and see if its clean, soaked, or got some burns on it(make sure if u check a plug, then you return it to the same cylinder). If they are clean then go on, if not, replace them.
3)Check your airfilter. If dirty clean/replace it.
4)Check your fuel delivery system. If its fuel injected then give your fuel rails a visual inspection, if you've got an asian/import and the fuel rails are well exposed and you've got some knowledge of working on cars, go buy a fuel injector tester, doesn't cost much it'll tell u if any of your fuel injectors need to be cleaned or replaced.
4)Check your oil. Make sure its at a safe level and not too dark.
5)Radiator, open the cap and check your coolant, make sure its the color it should be(some use green coolant, and some use red). If its got oil mixing with it then youve got a..... wait, we're talking about phones!!
Have you tried to start it without a mem card? maybe its trying to start up a corrupt app from the memcard or something similar. If you have tried that or don't have a memcard then i'm sorry to say, yes the only option i see for you is to start it in bootloader and flash your device or hard reset it, and yes if you can't turn it on then your gonna loose the data on your device. Don't worry you don't understand how many times i've lost data from my device from having to hard reset... it sucks, i know, if you need a shoulder to lean on, then all xda-dev is here for you.
also without the memory the pda doesn't start...
But in bootloader mode is impossible to read the file?!

I have the same problem: I need to save some data but my handheld does not boot up.
When I installed tomtom 5.21 my handheld does not respond to any imput so I soft reset it and...
the system freeze at the bootlogo after rom informations.
1. I am hounting the way of connecting to device with "active usb kitl mode" (pwr button + comm manager, stylus reset) and "platform builder 5.0" but the comunication seems to be impossible under this mode.
N.B.: ...but maybe some wrong parameter because I try the same procedure with a working handheld (qtek 9090) and kitl mode does'n permit access from platform builder. Through activesync the comunication is ok (but this mode is impossible if the target device does not boot up). So I thing that:
a. the comunication is impossible under handheld kitl mode or
b. I am unable to configure the connection parameter of platform builder 5.0
2. If I hardreset I will lose my data. Someone know what happened to my data if I install a differen rom, could I choose to keep my data???

hardreset: premi i 2 tasti col segno "-" (quelli immediatamente sotto lo schermo) e mantenendoli premuti fai il reset con il pennino. Ti chiederà una conferma, per rispondere usa la tastiera
"-" (LEFT) + "-" (RIGHT) + STYLUS RESET
bootloader: "ok" (su fianco sinistro) + "power" e tenendo premuto fai il reset col pennino;
"OK" (LEFT SIDE) + "POWER" + STYLUS RESET
usb kitl: "ok" + "manager reti" (sotto tasto power) e tenendo premuto fai il reset col pennino.
"OK" (LEFT SIDE) + "COMM SWITCH" + STYLUS RESET
P.S.: se avessi trovato una rom ufficiale probabilmente sarei riuscito a ripristinare il palmare senza perdere i dati. Ma ora mi sono arreso ed ho compiuto il grande passo.

In one off my passed experineces with ROM there was one with a soft reset button in the Task Manager, if i remember corectly. How can I install that? Is there a stand alone program ?
Searching google i've found some applications similar, but not as good as that in my opinion:

along with other functions witch i find usefull it also has a soft reset option.
why install a program to do a soft reset when all you need to do is press the reset button?

Hi mix23, have you tried p-bar?, its a small exe that runs from your memory card or anywhere, and does most of the close task etc and a soft reset icon to.
You can even configure it to start with your ppc and replace the close button etc.

I have trouble with run igo I correct (sys.txt) for run on storage card also I correct for resolution but when I run igo it's appear and shut down after appear for half second every 10 seconds and disapear help what's wrong.
I have version without exe - I use autorun installation after exe appear on the diamond in programs files. I copy this exe in folder with program ....
You're not using Igo for Diamond (I had the same problem)... Where did you get this version ?

I have iGO8 8.3.1 working fine, post your sys.txt.
also you should know that version 8.3.1 is NO WAY NEAR as good as 8.0.49 or 8.0.59 there are so many features missing on the 8.3.1!!
for example:
auto capitalisation missing in 8.3.1
longer GPS fix time
cannot change the trip meter when no route is active, it only displays compass and altitude
speedcams done show up all the time
much heavier on phone resources
PM me if you need more help!!(technically iGo 8 isnt for the diamond (yet), so may get in trouble talking here!!)
I have iGo 8.3.1 running perfectly on my device. I copied everything in the internal memory then ran installation from 2577 folder. No need to change sys.txt. Everything runs fine. I run Igo clicking on igo.exe in the igo8 folder
I suggest going with 8.0.x either rather than trying 8.3. It was very unstable and laggy on my diamond. Theres no need to try. The new features are not worth the stress. Pity is, that the new map versions dont work with 8.0.x. But that will be a matter of time, i think...

Wich language is your ROM? WWE or another?
If it's WWE, put this in your sys.txt:
[device]
sdcard_dsk_num=7
It worked for me...

I dont know where you are all getting your software, but the versions you are all talking about are really poor.
I have the following:
Nav N Go iGo v8.0.0.54000 & Nav N Go iGo v8.3.1.57021 - WORKING 100%
and the sys.txt for both is:

in both of my installs there are 2 files:
2577
iGO8
and that is it, i have had no messing around with sys.txt, I do not have to go looking for program exe's with total commander or sending shortcuts anywhere.
With the versions i have, and this install procedure works for both releases of iGO8:
1, copy 2577 & iGO8 to internal storage
2, unplug phone from usb
and that is it, and you even have the added bonus of having startmenu shortcuts installed!! WOOP
also as another great feature of the way my installs work is when you flash a new rom, the first thing to popup after typing in your pin is the install screen for iGo8 and all settings/favourite locations/etc are all kept in tact!
I have compiled both of these myself from bits and pieces from various different sites and they are not available for download on any site in the configuration i have made.
just as a side note, it was me who got iGo v8.3.1.57021 to work at all on the HTC Diamond!!and variants have propogaed through the internet which dont work as well.
Obviously i cannot/will not post links in this forum as i will get banned. and i have not posted links on any other sites to this software.
BUT IF YOUR INTERESTED IN WHAT IM SAYING PM ME!!

All that has to be done is
In SYS.TXT
Change the SD card to the name of your internal memory.
ON Diamond if your SYS.TXT sais SD card IGO will not work!

Works fine on my Diamond (Vodafone) , but have problems with the TMC, it picks up signal (GNS GPS & TMC Receiver) from RDS radio stations, but does hold on the frequency and does not alert of any traffic jams.
Also I have not been able to find a U.K map with the full 7 digit postal code entry (only seems to have 4 or 5 digit entry I.E SE26 then it brings up code that relate to SE26 you sill have to entry the road name, this seem to be stepping back to prior version 8.0x

I have same problem!
I did not find any file >200MB (I had one MP4 but deleted it).
Because it came every view minutes I freezed now S Finder and the service itself with Titanium Backup and will see if it still appears!

Yep, me too, its freezing the phone & keeps turning up all the time, that simply should not be happening & Samsung need to sort it out.

I've fixed mine now. I used a USB card holder to copy my card to then formated my SD & put everything back on one folder at a time.
Once the folder was identified I put small groups of files on until phone froze & eventuality identified the file.
The culprit was a 2.74mb .PDF file that contained text & pictures.
(That file had been on a Note 2 & a Note 1 before that with no issues.)

I had bunch of files in Dropbox including large pdf files (from 400mb), I disabled the Document Sync and the problem went away...
For me the culprit was a corrupted pdf file. My Note3 was fine after I deleted that file.
Moreover I found that the indexservice process is taking more cpu and time when I have more number of pdf files in my memory card.
So, right now either you can put less number of pdf files on your device to avoid the lag or just wait till the indexing completes.
After the indexing completes, the device works as wonderfully as it was working before inserting my memory card.

Il mio file pdf é di 6MB e pgni volta che lo salvo e apro mi da l'errore indexservice è stato interrotto.
