For what it's worth, I'm using CM 10.1.3 RC2.
Many of the system volume settings are only on a 1-7 scale. This is not fine-grained enough for good control. Is there any way to change this so that, for example, the volume would be on a 1-14 scale?

Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the HTC Touch volume slider sensitivity? It seems when i try to use it, it jumps way to much making it impossible to find a comfortable audio level.
I have the same problem. The volume buttons are way to sensitive.
bump?
Anyone find a fix for this ???
i open it up then use the screen to set the level.
I would use the volume skin in s2u2 it helps some, you can also adjust the volume rocker in the settings menu under buttons.

I have the same issue. Does anyone have a fix?
In Settings
In the settings click on buttons. Then at the bottom click on up/dpwn control and the settings for it are there. Note: I'm using Win Mo 6.1...not sure if it was in previous versions.
Is there any way to control the sound volume for the keyboard keypress independently from the Media Volume? I can't believe Google didn't think about this, especially in Froyo.

Adjustable via the system volume control - bugs the hell out of me
Use a better keyboard like HTC IME or Better Keyboard or Smart Keyboard.
They all let you adjust how load the keyboard tick sound is
I've found a problem with this related to using navigation. If you set the keyboard volume at a sensible level then use navigation and increase the navigation volume it also increases the keyboard volume. When you exit navigaation it does NOT reset system volume so its annoyingly loud forcing you to readjust it manually. They should fix that in navigation but its been like that for at least 6 months. The fix I use is to get Sound Manager from the market and set a schedule to adjust the system sound how I want it at the start of every day. At least that way it starts out normal each day. Def a fix is needed for this.
Is there a way for the volume keys to only control media volume instead of its default behavior which sets ringer volume?
Running CM7 nightlies
bump......
Bump again
When you're in a media app, the volume keys should control media volume.
Of course, I know that. But I want to control media volume at all times. There is no ringtone to adjust.
Is there an app I can use to remap the keys or something?
I would like this myself.
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
Keysmod will let you remap the volume keys but I'm not sure that will do what you want: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965023
You might want to check out Volume Control, which overlays a touch bar on your screen that can control media volume. There are several apps on Android Market called Volume Control; you want the one by BigRedPepper.

Doesn't look like it does, someone in the thread wants to do the same thing as I do.

Thanks, but that isn't something I'm interested in.
I'm interested in this as well.
thereddog, have you had any success remapping the volume keys to control media volume by default instead of ringer volume?
there's something about the physical volume rocker on the a500 that makes me dislike using it and it being on the top I have to take my lazy finger and travel alll the way to the top(always in landscape) to adjust volume.
I know there are a couple or more of these types of apps in the market but thought id share this one I just found. it lets you put a volume rocker/slider anywhere on your screen edge. you can customize it... color, size, what volume its controlling etc...
I set it to the lower right so I can easily change volume on the fly with my pink thumb.

*edit* if any of you know a similar app that can adjust brightness let me know...thanks
Stock unrooted MIUI 10.2.7.0. The ringer volume seems to be tied inseparably to the media volume. Changing them separately through settings or the quick menu when pressing the rocker does not work. They show as their respective settings, but ringer operates at whatever level the media is set to.
Am I missing something, or is this just a bug? Others have this issue?
