Does anyone know if there is a way to adjust the HTC Touch volume slider sensitivity? It seems when i try to use it, it jumps way to much making it impossible to find a comfortable audio level.
I have the same problem. The volume buttons are way to sensitive.
bump?
Anyone find a fix for this ???
i open it up then use the screen to set the level.
I would use the volume skin in s2u2 it helps some, you can also adjust the volume rocker in the settings menu under buttons.

I have the same issue. Does anyone have a fix?
In Settings
In the settings click on buttons. Then at the bottom click on up/dpwn control and the settings for it are there. Note: I'm using Win Mo 6.1...not sure if it was in previous versions.

I am really missing the abilty to quickly change the volume of the phone using the up down wheel like you could on the wizard.
The fact the wheel allows easy access to the screen is great though.
The ideal solution seems to be to map the left hand side ok button to the volume control instead of the start menu when on the today screen.
unfortunatly the buttons options in the settings do not include the ok button.
Is anyone aware of how to do this?
Maybe one of Vijay's apps could achieve this...
What happened to dedicated volume keys like on the 8125?
How am I supposed to adjust the volume quickly? the scroll wheel?
Try tapping on the sound icon at the top of the screen. That should bring up a pop-up that has volume sliders in it.

Yup, but I wanted some real keys to press like there should be on every phone.
i too am looking for a way to do this as well...
The scroll wheel will adjust the volume while on a call. When not on a call, it will just scroll through whichever app you're using at that moment.
Edit: If you get those tones when using it, like us TyTN users did, there is a registry edit to eliminate that. Follow this link, about 2/3 down the page.

You can try a 3rd-party app like Pocket Plus for a soft solution...
You could downgrade to a Wizard/8125/etc. but that would suck.
Hi all
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to disable the volume slider button? As its in and out of my pocket its always changing the sound settings and its annoying, especially when it gets knocked down to silent and I miss an important call. I would just like to change the settings using the sound icon on screen and for it not be affected by the slider.
Thanks
try smartskey?
have you tried smartskey? One of the functions of this freeware is "Remap volume slider to page up/down" , this should be ok for your purpose, i think?

Hi
Yes, that works a treat. Thanks.
After I installed the S2U2 the volume buttons no longer work like they did. I just can´t change the volume settings with them, anyone with the same problem?
In S2U2 settings turn "Don´t use keyboard hook" on and turn S2U2 volume control off. Works fine for me, after having the same problem you are experiencing....

Strange...
If i hit a volume button, the volume screen pops up correctly, and I can change the volume with my finger on the display.
But if hitting any volume button again, the display reverts back to the home-screen instead of changing the voume.

Activating the Volume Control in S2U2 makes no difference to me at all...
So unfortunatly it is still not working here...
Hey guys,
I would like to have typing sound effects but at a lower volume. The only way to do this is by lowering the volume from the side button, but this affects the whole phone and I have to change it every time I send a message.
Is there a way I can let the keyboard volume to be low by default ?
Thanks.
Doesnt anyone else want to know that as well ?
not sure if this is what you mean:
settings > menu > all settings > sounds and notifications
you can choose between soft and loud for screen tabs.. default is loud..
just tested but it's not what you mean sorry...
you can set the ring and system volume seperatly then at least your ringtone will stay the same.. but an inconvient thing is it always adjust the ringtone by default so it takes an extra tap to adjust the sytem volume..
Yeah its for screen taps and not the keyboard
Thanks for replying anyway !!
Anyone please ?
As far as I'm aware, there's no way to do this. You can either have the tapping sounds on or off but not on but quiet.
The closest I can think of would be to turn off single volume (Settings>Sound & Display>Single Volume) and then turn your system sound down but this will obviously affect more than just the keyboard tapping sound.

Aw thats unfortunate, one make like to adjust the keyboard tapping volume
Well anyway thanks for replying
mine is set to vibrate (apparenlty by default).. probably drains some battery power but maybe a good substitute for the keyboard sounds? anyway I like it..
or maybe you can find the soundfile for the keyboard in de windows folder (if it is a file) and replace it with a less volume recorded one (or edit it in a sound editor)

I found this a couple of days ago. Probably the SINGLE MOST USEFUL mod to the factory default Sense there is. With dual-volume control, it defaults to System first instead of Ring Volume.

But then again, lowering the System Volume also lowers music / movie / program volume so maybe its a short-term alternative.
