well... so far i'm loving my tmobile mda after i've updated to the imate kjam rom (aku2) and of course readded some tmobile customizations and other tweaks..
anywho..
i noticed an alarming problem and wanted to see if others have had this problem or if its specific to my device and setup.
i tried calling a pal last night (he has a landline) and received a busy signal tone. After i hung up, i went back to watching my tv shows i have on a miniSD in Media Player 10 on my mda. The video played fine but the sound no longer played. Checked out TCPMP and same problem, no sound.
Then went into my system settings > Sound Notifications and again, no sound at all.
did a soft reset, sound is back. So i tried calling pal again to get the busy tones; got busy signal and again lost all sound.
So is this a WM5 bug or have i done something to mess up my busy signal tone? i have not done any sound related tweaks (before my last hard reset i did the microphone boost hacks but decided on not doing that this time around)
peace
I haven't had the busy=no sound but I have had the no sound after less than a day on standby--do a soft reset and it's back until who knows when--I have posted this issue but no one has responded yet in both this forum and another one--I have even googled the issue and still can't figure it out--This only started after I installed the latest ROM. Any one have an idea as to why this is happening? It's very annoying to have to reset my handset every day as well as not know when the sound will go out thus missing an important call. Much help would be VERY appreciated!!
BTW I have no 3rd part apps installed
I have the same problem
HELP !!!!!!
weard thing:
When I call to myself, (only to test the busytone) all sounds dropps after hung up. The only solution until now, to get it going are by a softreset,
BUT, if I do a call to another number after hung up, all sounds are back!!!
Without doing softreset!!!
So seamonkey420 could you try this and report?
I'm having a strange sound issue with my Wizard since late this afternoon.
Got called several times today, sound was working great en mic aswell. But around 4 I got called. The ringtone played as usual, but I couldn't hear the other line and there was no sound at all.
Did a softreset, but this did not help. Friend tried calling me, no luck.
So a hardreset followed, and again it did not help anything.
Now I don't hear any sounds coming from the build in speakers and my mic is not working aswell.
Tried several soft- and hardresets, tried removing the battery, checked every possible option in the phone... nothing.
Strange thing thou is that when i connect my headset, I do have sound and people do hear me. And the vibration is still working aswell.
Is it possible both my mic and build in speakers are defected? I still think it's a ROM issue since I'm using a custom T-Mobile 2.26 ROM.
...
Which brings me to problem number 2...
I lost alot of text messages the last time I upgraded my Wizard to a new ROM. How do I prefent this from happening again?
Is there a way to export of backup the messages? Or are there any program around that can do this?
cant solve your first problem, but have a suggestion for your 2nd problem... install this cab and sign up for this free service.. it will back up text, pics, contacts, voice notes, etc... its pretty cool
the site for it is http://1800message.com/ but you have to install the cab in order to sign up for the service
Hi everyone, I hope one of you can help me out.
I bought a vogue on eBay to play with the android OS. I loved android, but I had an issue... When I called someone they couldn't hear me but I could hear them. Also none of the sound notifications were working... no incoming calls, no music files... it looked like the software was working, but I couldn't hear anything.
The sound was working fine before I converted to android (directly from the phone not the SD card), so I flashed to a WM rom... still the same issue. I can hear everything perfectly fine when I call my voice mail, but people can't hear me when I call them, and none of my sound files make any noise even though it looks like media player is playing them properly.
I flashed to the Sprint stock rom for the Vogue, and still the same issue...
Can someone please help me? I have no idea what to do.

Long shot, but did you check the device before flashing anything? Was it working when you got it off ebay?
Did you do a hard reset after flashing WM?
Yes, it was working when I bought it. The receiver is now working (people can hear me when i make a phone call), but the speaker on the back, the one used for speakerphone, is still not working.
I've done a hard reset, nothing changed. I'm going to take it into a repair store and see if it's a hardware issue... I have no idea why it would be though. All I did was mess with the software.

It could be that flashing to Android messed up something in the speaker... again, another long shot!
I have a serious problem with my nexus. The earpiece and microphone are both muted. I can listen to music, camera records audio, the dialer has just basically ignored the speaker and microphone. This is a brand new phone, stock rom 4.2.2 Jellybean. I know it's not a problem with the hardware, because Skype works without any problems.
I have tried booting the phone in safe mode, doing a factory reset and trying to use an app called soundabout from the store. Is my only option returning the phone? At this point you have probably figured out that I can't make any phone calls or receive them, making my phone a nice paper weight. I already posted this in the help thread, so sorry for being a douche, but I'm desperate.

Are you rooted? Have a custom recovery installed? I can help, but need more info
I have not rooted, the device is fully stock.

It sound like a software problem. You can either use root and install a stock or custom rom and recovery, or send it back. What i would do is unlock the bootloader and root
So yeah TL;DR I got the phone back from some thieves on a motorbike after they grabbed it from me but now my Mic wont work in Phone calls and Other apps but works in Video Recording for some reason.
Anyone have a clue on what happened? Thanks
same situation specially at Speaker call !
Try performing a hard factory reset but clear the cache in the Recovery Menu first. It could be a software error.
