So recently my phone has been playing a new unlock sound that i cant find in the system/media/audio dir. it plays even if the unlock sound is deselected or selected. Changing the files in the above dir does nothing. Muting the phone will mute the unlock sound. cant think of any app i installed that would of driven the change either.
Running Kanagbean 2.2 if that matters
Not that i dont like having an unlock sound, just cant stand this one. and worse one i dont know how to change.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Guys,
Had my m5000 a while now, and just put my o2 pay and go card into it!! However when I put the phone into sound off mode, when my credit alert comes through I still get a beep.
Have tried turning everything off, is there a way to turn the credit updates off. It is annoying after I send a text I get a beep and a popup teeling me my balance.
Anyone know how to turn off the damn sound ??

I spent quite some time trying to do this and I just now figured out a way...
I used ActiveSync to explore to \windows under 'My Device' and copied notify.wav to my desktop. I then used an audio editor to make it silent and copied it back.
Now when I get the notifications it still plays the notify.wav but it is silent. You could change it to any sound you wanted.

ok I have a HTC Trinity and I signed up for Cingular prepaid service. Now each time I make a call and I am done I get an alert saying how many minutes I have used up. It shows up as a notification at the top of my screen and it makes an Alert sound. Now I contacted Cingular and they say the alert is built into their system and they cannot disable it. What is strange is that even when I set my sounds the off and i mute my phone the alert still makes the alert sound! I do not mind the alert showing but not being able to disable the sound at all is annoying. I have tried my sim card in my HTC Trinity and a HTC Hermes running Windows Mobile 6 so it is not like an OS or Phone issue. How come this particular alert cannot be muted? I know I cannot disable the alert itself but surely there is a way to set it so that it doesnt make the alert notification sound every time even when my phone is on vibrate or completely muted?

ok I tried this and I edited notify.wav and made it silent and copied it back, but now it makes this weird short beeping sound, even though when I play notify.wav it is silent. I think maybe the new notify.wav I created is not in the right format?
Could you post the silent wav you created that worked? Please? The sound drives me crazy especially when I am sleeping at night while charging my phone

I've looked for this on the forum but app no-one has had this problems before.. (or my searching skills just suck)
All of sudden the audio from my phone is gone. It is not a hardware problem because when people call me i can still hear them and the beep you hear when you adjust the sound also functions.
However he doesnt recognize any music files and no audio whatsoever.
Tried deleting the apps i installed before it turned shifty but didnt make a diff.
Anyone any suggestions???? Really dont feel like hardresetting the thing because might be just a small thing.

Okaii so i flasshed the DSP manager onto my MT4G, then when i reboot, all my sound it gone! I cant hear when someone calls me, i dont hear the music coming out of my speaker, i dont even hear the tick sound when u put the volume up! Is there any way to fix this? Will it fix if i just flash the ROM again? Pleaseee help!

I've changed lock.. unlock... charging sounds... and no sound at all.. not even its original sound not playing when lock unlock or charge the phone. No sounds at all. Tryied few times.. watched on YouTube.. how to do it with root explore.. it was working the lock unlock sounds had trouble only with the changing sound but now not even when I lock or unlock..
Is there any way to fix or to reset or something.

Flash stock firmware. Remember you can't change stock sounds without setting correct permissions using the root browser.
