Hello,
Suddenly, I have lost all sound on my qtek 2020.
The system volume slider is on the lowest position and when I put it back on top, it goes back down.
Also when I try to play a ringtone a message appears saying: "The ringtone is not working properly".
I cannot hear the ring for incoming calls, or any other system sounds.
Can anyone help on this issue?
Thanks a lot
is the radiobutton in the slider dialog set to off ?
is it set to vibrate ?
how are the settings in sounds and notifications
did you try a softreset ?

I reinstalled the widcom stack and sound is ok.
Did anyone know, how to erase the widcom-stack correctly - without the soundbug?
Does the delete-routine delete something wrong or thomething in the registry?

If you have the Widcom stack go to the WIDCOM BT-manager Audio gateway tab and Disable this before uninstalling. Sound should then remain actve. Had the same problem
Very easy and simple fix!!, i had the same problem about a month ago and it took 3 weeks for me to find the solution,
click on start, then ultra profiler and untick the silent box and tick the normal one, select bluetooth as you want it, but make sure all the others are blank, tap the select button and its fixed !!
It seems that ultra profiler gets confused and forces the volume down from time to time for some unknown reason without you ever using it

I have not installed Ultra Profiler...
I yesterday made a hard reset of my device and installed it from scratch... Now it's working...
It seems BluetoothGPS is the faulty one, since after uninstalling all sounds are gone...
I followed instructions in this post to remove it but BluetoothGPS still shows in Remove programs section.
i havent installed ultraprofiler either, and i didnt want it because of this problem, but i comes preinstalled with the XDA2,
Maybe it isnt preinstalled on the Qtec version ??, not sure as i havent got one
just install bluetoothgps.cab again and all will be ok, i dont know the reson and appreciate if some one give a real solution.
Hi All,
Since upgrading to Windows Mobile 2003 SE I have been experiencing a really annoying problem where the ring tone resets to the default "BASS" ring instead of the one I set. The one I want normally stays set for a while but after a day or so I find that it has reset back. The strange thing is that I don't hear the BASS ring tone at all, the phone vibrates but the phone is silent. That is the worst thing because I can't tell when i'm getting a phone call!
I have tried doing a hard reset on the phone but the problem remains. Everything was fine before upgrading to Second Edition I don't want to have to go back.
Anyone have any ideas what is going wrong here?
Many thanks,
Richard.
I'm amazed that no one else has seen this problem on an XDA II. I just have the standard WM2003SE downloaded from this site.
Its driving me nuts. Can anyone help please?
Thanks,
Richard.
next time post on the right place plz
If your setting using MP3 for your ring tone, you should set windows media player for your default mp3 player. Otherwise the ring tone keeps resetting to default bass.
hope it can help
Thanks for the reply. I'm using .wav ringtones rather than mp3 ringtones though.
Cheers,
Richard.
Hopefully someone here can help me. I have the new T-Mobile MDA and I leave it on all the time. When I pick it up in the morning, the phone has no sound coming out of it. Toggling the volume up, down, off, vibrate, anything.... doesn't make a difference.
If someone calls me when my phone is in this mode, it only vibrates and my ringtones don't play either. The only way to fix this is to reboot the phone. I'm not sure if this happens due to leaving the phone on while charging or from leaving the phone on for more than 24-hours at a time.
Any help you guys could provide would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Sounds an unusual problem - which ring tone are you using? and are you using any profile program and which today plugins have you got installed?
3 things you could do -
1. disable any added plugins\profiles,
2. use default windows ringtone,
3. if all else fails - hard reset and see if this still occurs without any added programs - if it does prob hardware problem and you will need to return to supplier,
Currently on my O2 XDA Mini S if you totally mute all sound or set it to vibrate, it will still play the service sound when you check your balance or get a service message like "You have used 1 minute credit today, after 2 minutes you will be put onto a lower priced talk plan" or what ever you get from O2 after making a call.
Is there any way of turning off or disabling the service sound (which is the default Notify sound) which still plays even though I have muted all the sound options?
I spent quite some time trying to remove the sound and figured out a way...
I used ActiveSync to explore to \windows under 'My Device' and copied notify.wav to my desktop. I then used an audio editor to make it silent and copied it back.
Now when I get the notifications it still plays the notify.wav but it is silent. You could change it to any sound you wanted.
ok I have a HTC Trinity and I signed up for Cingular prepaid service. Now each time I make a call and I am done I get an alert saying how many minutes I have used up. It shows up as a notification at the top of my screen and it makes an Alert sound. Now I contacted Cingular and they say the alert is built into their system and they cannot disable it. What is strange is that even when I set my sounds the off and i mute my phone the alert still makes the alert sound! I do not mind the alert showing but not being able to disable the sound at all is annoying. I have tried my sim card in my HTC Trinity and a HTC Hermes running Windows Mobile 6 so it is not like an OS or Phone issue. How come this particular alert cannot be muted? I know I cannot disable the alert itself but surely there is a way to set it so that it doesnt make the alert notification sound every time even when my phone is on vibrate or completely muted?

ok I tried this and I edited notify.wav and made it silent and copied it back, but now it makes this weird short beeping sound, even though when I play notify.wav it is silent. I think maybe the new notify.wav I created is not in the right format?
Could you post the silent wav you created that worked? Please? The sound drives me crazy especially when I am sleeping at night while charging my phone
