Technically ...yes.
But if you check the forum you will discover how to return your phone to stock in case you need to send it back.
Stock phone = intact warranty
It's fine!
Return to stock - warranty back.
I have Asus Transformer Pad TF300T, there is only one way. If you once unlock your bootloader, you will have never recieve warranty.
Thanks 4 fast answer .

hey i recently bought a galaxy tab 2 p3100 ,after searching in few threads i foundout the binary flash counter problem which avoids warranty in other countries ,i'm guessing the same implies in our country too ,but still would like to confirm ?
THNK YOU
Quick question: How is the death grip on that device?
Thanks.
I don't know any device that has a warranty that covers flashing non-stock firmware to the device. Even the warranty on the Nexus is technically void once unlocked and flashed with non-stock firmware. Just that it is easy enough to revert back to stock and re-lock if you do have an issue.

even if you return back to stock firmware ,the flash binary counter doesn't reset i guess....thats what i am trying to confirm.
Sure you will lose warranty.

No! not yet
I also have updated and had no idea this would give me such a headache..... at first I wasn't able to root, but after Chainfire updated root i was able to root, but a lot of apps don't work as before, so I decided do downgrade to the ROM I was before, but it is IMPOSSIBLE! Please help us!!!
Why doesn't it work just flash stock FW from odin like any other brick?
How can it not work?
New security features added to the bootloader in MGG, MH8 and MH5. Unfortunalty there isnt a work around yet, im sure in the next couple of weeks they will work out a way. Just have to be paitent. There are roms based on MGG and MH8 available. Echo V2 is the new firmware and its brilliant.
i9505 Echo Rom As Standard......
flashaholic also try every rom out.......
Check this post. Hopefully it will help. Seems to be the only way to downgrade as of now...

Edit: I did not discover this possible solution just found the link. Read thoroughly before flashing.

Wat
Have updated my stock I9505 to JDQ39/MH8 and was wandering if I were to root and install something like CM10 or GE 4.3 rom, I will be unable to rollback to stock TW 4.2.2?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Of course mister you can. Why not?
But keep in mind that you can rollback only on MH8 stock firmware and not on previous cause new bootloader.

That's great. Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I could go back to stock touchwiz should any of the rooms not be for me.

your warranty will be void
and for now you cant roll back to warranty, knox warranty void counter will show 1 and there is no way to reset it so far
This has become a bit of a pain hasn't it. Think I may sit this out untill a workaround is sorted.

Apparently the new counter can't be reset, so once you do something to change the system (root etc) your warranty will be voided. For ever.

How can I check Knox counter?
[[]]
If you've updated to the new firmwares, just boot into download mode. You'll see it there.
Thing is, Chainfire said that it is based on an e-fuse, so it can't be reseted.
Hello mates, I have a question.
Which of you are in the latest bootloader?
I want to upgrade, usually with new bootloader there are some enhancements but reading about that KNOX thing that Samsung added to the bootloader. Also I think that that's just for warranty (I void mine at the first minute jajaja), I've never used TouchWiz and I read that the you can't revert the bootloader, as usual, so I want to be sure that I will be able to keep flashing things and use Odin as well, since the counter can't be reset.
I've got the new bootloader and flash a lot.
I'm currently running PAC ROM and KT Kernel with no issues at all
If you have new bootloader it does void warranty forever if KNOX WARRANTY VOID 0X1.
You can't downgrade firmware in Odin but you can upgrade

In any case if we want to upgrade to TW 4.3 next October I suspect all of us must use the new bootloader...

That's what I was thinking, besides since the KNOX feature is just for warranty purposes and I been using an AOSP ROM since the first minute.
But, are we going to be able to use Odin without any problems?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4
This is what I'm not so sure about, everyone is saying different things!
Some say once you trigger the KNOX flag then you can't use Odin at all. Some say you can but only to upgrade firmware, not downgrade. Some say you can but can never use stock kernel again as it checks the KNOX flag and won't boot phone if it's 0x1.
I think before you take the plunge, do some reading and research to be on the safe side

Hi,
I would like to root my S7 edge but would like to know if the warranty issue is reversible.
meaning, If I flash stock rom, will it be OK in terms of warranty?
Tnx

Short answer - NO.
But..
Ask your local Samsung store. Some countries allow Knox tripped devices.

As far as I know, knox will remain tripped and your warranty void
