Hi,
I realy need your help as I'm strungling with my S4 GT-I9505 for 2 days now. As my battery was completely empty my Phone wasn't able to start and became in an endless startup loop. I decided to do a recovery --> whipe and factory reset. This process crashed. Later on I've tried to restore the stock firmware via Odin downloaded at Sammobile (Original Dutch PHN version). Odin failed with message "Fail! (auth)" Also CF-Autoroot of Chainfire launched. Now I'm not able anymore to enter the recovery booting option. Showing only blue tekst message "recovery booting" and thats it (see pic). Phone is able to boot normaly but in a weird state. Keep on crashing time after time. Switching WiFi off and displays status info all the time on the screen (see pic). Your help is realy welcome as I'm running out of options now !! Thanks in advance :good:

Hi,
Thnx for your response ! I've checked the Phone via file explorer but can't find the "factoryApp" dir... Did it just via Windows Explorer. And I think the device is not rooted. Any other clues ?
Cheers,
Bert
You have to do it with root explorer on your phone. You can't see the correct folder with Windows. It's in /efs/FactoryApp
Ahhh ok !
I will give it a try ! Let you know the outcome

Try flashing twice keeping auto reboot unticked. Let it finish pull plug. Download mode. Flash stock again still with auto reboot off. Let in finish pull plug turn on.
Try flash clock word mod recovery do a factory wipe and try flash stock again

Hi,
I've tried Clockworks but it stated that my Phone is not rooted. Launched Motochopper via *.bat file. Failure due to SuperUser.apk still exists (see attachment). Root explorer doesn't show me the files... Think this could be the problem. Tried to re-flash via Odin but still "Fail ! (auth)".. Any other ideas ?

efs is not empty, you can not see the content because it is not mounted
root your phone with cf-auto-root method, then proceed with this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45784598&postcount=5233

Thats an issue. Tried several times to auto root the device via Chainfire's method. Odin shows me it's ok but after reboot of device it stuck while entering the recovery boot. So this won't work unfortunately.

I think I've find the cause of my problem described in this topic. Probably my device is hit by the new firmware I9505XXUDMH8... Comes with Knoxx en and new bootloader. This explain why I cannot flash my device. Tried on 3 different computers but Odin still fail. Is there any progress reported already by developers to bypass/solve the new security trick of Samsung ? My Phone is worthless now... Thnx in advance.

I get firmware from sammobile.com. Looking there it looks like you've got the latest firmware for your phone that's available. Did it fail on the md5 check? If it does it could be a bad download.

So yesterday when AT&T announced 50% off of smartphones I was pretty dumbfounded since I got a brand new S4 the day before. But the day I got it I rooted it and did all the other stuff. I will return my S4 for a new one but it's impossible for me to unroot. Everything I've done doesn't seem to work. I used Odin but it stops at the "Get PIT for mapping" stage. I tried deleting SuperSU but that didn't work. It made things worse because it said I'm not rooted but I still am. Now I can't even go to recovery. And I can't even connect to Kies. Can anyone help me unroot my device or help me be able to return my device when it's rooted?

I would think the tools section of Kies will have an option that will work. Connection trouble shoot first then emergency recovery. If your phone boots, you should be able to reset it to out of the box state.
If it's still rooted, try triangle away app.
If you go to settings, more, about device, build number, then tap on build number repeatedly it will restore developer options, if it's not shown now. From there you can enable or disable USB debugging. That might help with Odin. Wish I had more answers for ya.
Also try settings, accounts, backup and reset, factory data reset.

Do you know how to enter the download mode? If so then odin should recognize it. I think it's "hold the power button, down volume, and home button" till it instructs you to let got and hit the up volume button. The connect it to the pc for odin.

Yes I'm trying the Odin process. It's working so far except it stops at "Get PIT for mapping..." which is here i.imgur.com/z8fnjRd (add png to the end)
Kies is not recognizing my device after troubleshoot. It is stuck at "Connecting..." which prevents me from emergency firmware recovery.
There are two options that will help me the most:
Connecting to Kies and getting a PIT file for Odin

Is your phone a US AT&T model I337? There is a stock recovery rom in this forum somewhere, it's a zip file when extracted it will have a tar.MD5 file for use with odin. Or maybe you should use the PDA selection in odin, and uncheck the reboot box.

Why don't you just call cs and get credit for the difference instead of returning it. You're going to get another s4 anyways.

Everyone I now know what I really want to do. I want to flash the stock ROM. But this is impossible with http://i.imgur.com/z8fnjRd.png "Get PIT for mapping" is stopping me, which is very frustrating.
Just throwing out some ideas. Try a different cable if you got another one. Try plugging into a usb port in back of computer. You could try to re download the file again using a different mirror. Could just be a bad download. Anyways good luck.

But Kies cannot connect to my device
Hi,
I was in doubt between doing or not doing the ROOT in my Galaxy S4 4G (GT-I9505)...
But I tried to start doing it.
I asked a friend who had already made it on his device!
At first he tried to install the recovery, so I would not lose my S4.
He used the Odin as he did for himself, but it faild. So I gave up doing te ROOT and we stopped.
Ok then, but today I looked for an upgrade original from Samsung on my device. But it said:
"Your device was modified. Upgrades are not available."
What can I do now?? I need to reset it to the original form or finish the ROOT successfully.
And I can't even put my device on recovery mode! It fails.
Please, help me!
I don't know what to do and this is my first post.
Ps.: out of this problem, my device is functioning normally.
Thank you!

Do you need root, is there something you can`t do without root atm or do you want to remove useless/unneeded stuff?
Better read up about rooting, flashing, recovery`s, roms and Odin so you`ll know what the (dis)advantages, risks and benefits are before you get into trouble
Do the following for now:
1. Download CF Auto Root from here http://download.chainfire.eu/316/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip and extract it once with 7-zip.
2. Download Odin 3.04 http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1168422&d=1341114468.
3.Enable usb debugging and disable Kies (also in windows task manager)
4. Place the extracted CF Root md5 file in Odin in the PDA section.
5. Put he phone in downloadmode (turn off the phone and then press volume down first and then the power button)
6. Connect to pc and and press start if you see ID;COM light up and you see a com number.
Reboot and you have root. Also install Busybox from Google Play.

The easiest way is to flash a stock ROM via Odin, search for the ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252855 and follow the instructions.

Oke, just do the following:
- Disable Kies in windows task manager
- Pull the battery and wait 20 seconds
- Boot into downloadmode and connect to the pc
- Untick Auto Reboot in Odin 3.09 and place the rom in AP
- Hit start and when done pull the battery
- Boot into recovery and data factory reset and boot.

Do you have Teamviewer on your pc, i can help you from here if you want that. If so install TeamViewer and let me know.
This method never fails actualy:
Have you disabled Kies in windows task manager?
- Pull the battery, wait 20 seconds and boot in to downloadmode
- Place the .md5 file in AP, connect the phone with usb and untick Auto Reboot in Odin 3.09
- Flash the rom, pull the battery, boot into recovery and factory reset and wipe cache
- Reboot.

I started TeamViewer, start yours and give me your Partner-ID through PM
This problem is still happening, anyone else know what may be the problem? It seems as if it is Chinese, could it be a fake?

If you bought yours from a reputable seller, you don't have to worry about this but there are some fake galaxy s5 around. There are some differences that you can observe.
Hopefully this is not the case with yours.

Well I bought it from amazon. It seemed legit and it looks legit for the most part except the sticker on the inside behind the battery where it says g900f is in Chinese and I heard its not supposed to be.
And I teamviewed with gee , he made sure everything in Odin was set up correctly. It was, we thought maybe the file was corrupt so I download it again from another source and it didn't help.
Any ideas on how I can fix this assuming it is not. Fake?
Hello Everyone, i got a note 3 phone
SM-N9005 FCC ID: A3LSMN9005
SSN:- N9005GSMH
MADE IN VIETNAM BY SAMSUNG..
i bought this note 3 phone from UAE and it was with Kitkat 4.4.2 and when i was using it, some apps used to stop and not responding and get a pop-up message "System has stopped" or something like .com.system has stopped responding, also when i open some other apps the phone shuts down, so i turn it on, sometimes it works fine and sometimes it stops responding and shut down many times, so i had to make a full restore factory reset and still have the same problem, some guys told me you have problems with the rom, so i had to look for stock roms to it and found a lollipop rom under this name (AP_N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar) and i installed samsung usb drivers just to make sure that everything is okay.
so when i started flashing it by odin it said Fail, so i tried once again but failed again, and i found my phone went to that black screen with (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again), i couldn't get to my previous kitkat rom after that, but i'm able to go to download mode and recovery mode, so after this( brick) i had to search of how to unbrick it so after that i flashed philz as a recovery mode, and then flashed (All samsung recovery.tar) so then after flashing it, that message of (firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies & try again) is gone, but i got another loop of restart each time i open the phone, it is not booting it is only taking me to the black start screen of android, and after a while it restarts itself.. and then when i tried to flash the same rom once again and connected my phone to my computer, drivers started configuring and so i waited to finish, but it failed it said (MTP USB Device Failed), though i still can see the phone connected over Odin in download mode.
so i had to look for another rom which is a kitkat stock version (N900TUVUCNB4_N900TTMBCNB4_N900TUVUCNB4_HOME.tar) which i found after downloading it and flashing it to my phone that it is for n900, which is normally failed flashing!.
so I don't know if i messed things up or not, and i really don't know what else or more to do ?
please give me your advice so i can restore this phone to its original stats.
Thank You!
Are you sure the first firwmware you flashed is a full stock firmware?. What is the size?.
The second firmware you flashed isn't for n9005. Try different firmware specifially for UAE.

I see. It's a leaked lollipop firmware. Flash again with 4 files except pit. First boot will take some time.

1. Go to Download Mode.
2. Tell me if you can flash this ONE using ODIN. It's the latest for KSA (Country Saudi Arabia).

Choose corresponding file for BL, AP, CP & CSC. Do not tick repartition. You could also try with the firmware as suggested by joku

You have repartion ticked but without a pit file, so obviously it will fail.
