I've been using CyanogenMod 6.1 Beta4 for a bit now and really like it. Got flash to work but will not play any of my videos either on stock player or media players from the market. The videos are all mp4s converted from handbrake and they all play on my stock Nexus 1. They're saved to my external SD card. Help?
Thanks
Rick
I believe that cm6.1 is not hardware optimized (yet). Tmk, it's a known issue.
Hi. I'm currently running MIUI 2.1.20 (see link below)
http://forums.miui.us/showthread.php?13388-MIUI-us-Kindle-Fire-rom-Updated-2-1-20-0xD34D
One problem for me is that I can play streaming videos from the Net and user-uploaded videos in Facebook, but when they play, the video is all choppy, like how a TV is out of tune with like diagonal lines running through it, so it's pretty much un-viewable. The audio plays fine, and the video plays, just can't really make it out at all. So, this happens when I try to watch videos from web-sites that aren't in YouTube & Netflix (those work fine).
Was wondering if there has been any development regarding a fix for this issue in this build of MIUI?
If not, does anyone know if the 2.2.3 ICS build of MIUI addresses this issue? (see link below) It's not listed as a known issue, but I don't want to assume it's fixed before flashing to it.

I use MX video player for all my videos. You can set it to SW decode and its pretty good about playing all videos without lag.

Right now, the lack of hardware acceleration in the multiple ports of ICS for the Fire prevents HD video playback, and often leaves SD video pretty laggy or choppy. Also, with no native support for Adobe Flash when streaming video, that can degrade the quality as well, if not playing whatsoever. The devs are working to get this resolved, but as it's a really complicated process, it still may be awhile before it's resolved.
Hi
I have been using the latest xbmc build for Android devices from xbmc.org website. And have mx player and bsplayer installed. Everything worked perfectly until the 4.3 jellybean update a few days ago. Since the update i get no video, only sound in every video feed i try to play. I also get subtitles but no video. I waited until the update for mxplayer, rebooted but the problem still there. I also have the latest mx player codecs. I get no error so i guess a logfile wount help...
Any clue how to solve this problem.
Would be grateful for any help.

Same problem with my Nexus 4. I have reverted back (uninstalled in installed) to the stable build of xbmc 12.2 Frodo, and it's now back to choppy video playback.

I reinstalled xbmc and solved problem. You also have to check the h/w accelaration feature on mx player.

Hi,
my device is Galaxy Nexus Maguro. Been using Cyanogen nightlies for ages, 720p mkv's have been working without any issues. (SW / HW+ custom codec armv7 NEON modes)
On Omnirom, playback stutters (which ever nightly version of the rom since it's been available to maguro device)
Can anyone confirm (on this device / any other) / help me out please ?
I suppose it has something to do with HW accel....
thx in advance
Im having issues playing youtube or any local videos i have on my sd card with the newest cm11 update. With youtube or mx player on h/w player it will force close even on stock video player. I solved this by using s/w player but if i try to use youtube it will force close because for some reason i cant play videos regularly. Has anyone encountered this issue or come up with a solution? Please and thank you!
