Will the Air Command from Note 10.1 2014 edition be compatible with note 10.1 ?
Will we get an update from Samsung to get the feature ?

Is this something like PIE from Cm? Looks very interesting

Well it should be as both had pretty much the same capabilities..
And it should be included in the next update..

Is Samsung stupid to do this to makes the old note 10.1 similar to note 10.1 2014 ??
I hope so

Why are they stupid? Software shouldn't be restricted to newer hardware. There are hardware upgrades but the current 10.1 hardware is very capable of handling all of the new features in the 2014 version. People will buy the new one for hardware and design enhancement and people who don't own the older version will still buy the new one. Not stupid in my book.
OT, but speaking of updates when are we going to receive the next one? My Samsung Apps updated themselves, but no OS updates in a very long time.
Other than that, I too am curious about Air Command and what changes the new Snote will bring as I rely heavily on Snote and think it's a great program.

There are plenty of hardware changes that will differentiate the OG from the 2014 version. Software wise we should have a similar experience, with the exception of processor limitations.

We already have all of these features on Note 10.1... Quick command does every single one of the features except global search which is pulled strait from S Voice handwriting input. You can add contacts and phone numbers everything in Quick command... funny thing is it was c gimmick on Note 10.1 1st Gen and these will be more of the same as its just Quick Command in a different UI
I think the old Note 10.1 will be updated directly with Android 4.3 with the features of Note 10.1 2014 probably at the end on Q4 or maybe Q1. So yes, the air comand feature should be available also on the old Note 10.1. Question is , how many of you will be using it ?

Do you like Android 3.1? Do you like tablets slimmer than the iPad 2? You might want to talk to Samsung in that case, because the Galaxy creator has put those two features together on its Galaxy Tab 10.1 product page and has compounded the excitement with a tweet saying the tablet is mere days away. Now, there's a bit of conflicting information here, because Samsung's tweet actually promises Android 3.0, but the Tab 10.1 page clearly lists the harder, better, faster, stronger Android version as the one that comes with the slate. Additionally, our conversations with Samsung at Google I/O earlier this month indicated that the June 8th launch date that we've been taking as gospel until recently is a little shakier now, with a slight delay possibly being caused by the desire to install the latest Honeycomb on board. So maybe the tweet's accurate in saying the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is coming in just a few days, it just depends on your definition of "few."
Update: Another tweet from Samsung's US account has reaffirmed that Android 3.1 will be the OS.

@blayze04 you are correct. Galaxy Tab 10.1 original was 3.0 but now it will be Android 3.1 - http://ow.ly/51E07

Good news if not unexpected. They've certainly got the time to do it. I hope some of us see it before the end of the month.
Yup yup yup, just saw it here http://www.androidcentral.com/samsu...p-android-31?utm_source=ac&utm_medium=twitter
Wonder when we are gonna get it.
I really, really hope June 8th is still the release date. Why won't they tell us? Transformer is really tempting, because I want a tablet NOW.
You not the only one

Yes me too, I'm edging towards the Xoom but would really like to find out what the UK price of the GT will be!
Good news. I hope as a Google IO tab owner we can DL this update soon. Love the tablet.
Since the gtab won't have SD card in leaning towards transformer. But as a captivate owner it is nice to see Samsung getting on top of updates
Sent from my captivate BLAZING on firefly 3.0
The tweet links to this page and says that it will have a touchwiz + the other software available as a update at a later date
http://www.samsung.com/us/article/the-next-generation-of-galaxy-tabs
the transformer makes the xoom look a bit dated, i would stick to asus if your itchin for a tab THIS instant. MUCH better display (IPS), working micro-sd, possibility for native keyboard dock with 2x full size usbs & full size sd slot along with 2x the battery life.
Yes good display but poor build quality.
Sent from my HTC Desire
Yes the build quality is my concern I just gonna play the Asus lottery and hope I win

In addition, this update seems just for Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note international version. Meanwhile, the operator version of both devices will get update Android 4.0 ICS in different time, like Galaxy Note for AT&T that’s reported to get it on February 19th.
Update Android 4.0 ICS will brings something interested for Samsung Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note. According to the reports, it will improve the functionality and user interface, even though still using Samsung TouchWiz UI. So, be patient to wait Android 4.0 ICS for your Galaxy S II or Galaxy Note.

Wow, that's some really bad English on that site. And some misinformation too, as the 19th February is the release date for the AT&T Galaxy Note, not the day it will recieve the ICS update.

Did you buy your device from the french provider SFR? No? Then this chart isn`t for you. For heavens sake people, stop ripping things out of context and actually start thinking.
I think if we manage to get a copy of the ROM loaded on Galaxy Note 10.1, we would have a good version of ICS for our Note.
Hardware is exactly the same!

No phone functionality though, which likely limits it's usefulness!
That being said, I would lay odds on the fact that the Note 10.1 ICS ROM is based on the Note 5.3's ICS ROM anyway, so it's unlikely any leaked version would be any more stable than those we already have.

Dave

True, indeed.
Could be great to see full tablet mode on note 5,3

Certainly it would help ROM development but what we really need is a more stable ROM for our own devices and kernel sources!

Probably bluetooth headset?
I would rather they keep the voice calling feature available rather than disabled.

I found that the triangle away can't reset the hardware totally anymore.
Where the heck did the guy get this from ? It´s an absolute "wanna have NOW " !!!!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm READY RIGHT THIS INSTANT FOR JELLYBEAN! I'm enjoying it too much on my Nexus 7. Plus the posted video shows how great an early build of if can run.
I'm still amazed how great the note 10.1 runs on stock set up. I feel no need or rush To root. Can't wait till the developement picks up for us. Custom kernels is what I crave. I can easily see this Exynos4 hitting over 2ghz. If Nexus 7 is hitting those speeds, we should also.
That JB update looks awesome, can't wait to get this beast
Dousan...
@dermandarin
Uhm..due to the build of the processor which is the same as in the galaxy note 1&2 and the galaxy s3, even the s2 I think, it will only be possible to get +-1.74 GHz out of them.

If this notice is true it will be a shame for Samsung's side. They want to put many smartphones and tablets in the market but they can't update all so they invent stories like these. All my android's equipments are Samsung but Tab Pro will be the last equipment from this brand! And i bealive that are more people thinking like me.

I am also never getting another samsung device...if they tease their customers like this. They must just hate repeat buyers. But really, it they did release the update, it would be throttled down to encourage sales of the newer tabs. This is what I believe they did with kk. Why else would the tab s have no lag, and ours have lag on every screen change with the same hardware? Dirty tricks! I am done.
Device Support 3 years. We have to get at least something

Q3-Q4))
From another chart I've seen, the first batch of Samsung tab getting M will be the Tab A. Yes, not the new 4:3 "flagship" Tab S2, not the older flagships Tab S and TabPRO, not our PRO 8.4 which has a Qualcomm SoC and should be easier to maintain, but the lowly Tab A!
I wonder what had gotten into Samsung these days...

[WARNING: XDA Premium 4.0.13+ lacks Signature function - do not update]
I really don't understand them. It's much more easier have 10 devices and update them than have like 100 devices and TRY to update them. It's a shame!
I am not surprised with lack of Samsung devices selling. First Samsung is expensive, Second they just promises about updates and Third KNOX sux!
These is the main reasons to me to abandon Samsung!
