I9505 Allshare cast with new bootloader/Root? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am using Allshare Cast Dongle and Smartview with my HD recorder a lot and these features is the main reason i got this phone in the first place.
I have root acces and It is working fine with old bootloader, when i reset with Triangle away and use stock-kernel. Now i have seen that Chainfire have got Triangle working on the new bootloader, the only thing is that we cant reset KNOX warrenty void. Counter and system status only!
Now here comes the quiestion. Can we root with new firmware-bootloader and use triangle away to get Allshare Cast working with KNOX warenty broken, I dont care about warrenty! i just want Root and CWM without losing features,
I am stil on the old bootloader but sooner or later i want to upgrade. (Android 4.3 next month)
I realy hope we can do this, or i will end up running Pure Stock Samsung Roms, MEGA DISASTER!!
I think i am beginning to get a little irritated at my new SGS4 HMM
My Note2 was 10 times more stable then this phone. I have had more problems with this phone in one week then i had with my N7105 in 9 month! running the same aps

What makes you think the SGS4 is the only phone that's gonna get a new bootloader?
If the SGS3 and the Note 2, also slated for 4.3 upgrade, receive an OTA then you can be guaranteed that it will contain the new firmware and a new bootloader...
Knox is used for warranty, the SGS3 and Note 2 aren't that old that they're out of warranty...

But that did not answer my question did it!!
Can i have KNOX 0x1 status, and use trinangle away to do a flash counter reset (not KNOX) on stock kernel 4.3 and get allshare cast working???
I dont care about KNOX as long as i can get Allshare working. I dont care about my warrenty, i just want to upgrade to 4.3 and be rooted and still have my allsharecast working. like i can on Jellybean

So try and tell us the results...
When I've checked download mode there is no flash counter anymore, just Knox warranty void status. As this can't be reset at the moment this could could be your problem however I have used a Galaxy note 3 with void 0x1 and Omega rom on it. I'm also using a custom recovery . I spoofed the System status to "Official" using wanam's mod in xposed framework. It works fine.... I just tried it again so I'm not lying my Ar$e off...
Exact same setup on S4 - Latest Omega, custom or stock recovery, spoofed "Official" status - and it keeps killing the connection....

I'm interested if anyone knows of any 4.3 rom and kernel combination (on the old bootloader) that works with the allshare cast dongle?
In my experiences trying to get this to work allshare cast seems to require a stock kernel. I've tried Omega 19 with almost every stock kernel there is but this combination always breaks wifi for me. Guessing everyone has had the same experience?

[Q] Downgrading Canadian Galaxy S4 & a Q about Knox

Hello,
I recently picked up a Canadian Galaxy S4. This is my first android device after using an iPhone 4 for the last 3 years. I'm a tinkering kind of guy so when I heard about the whole custom ROM community for the s4, I was excited. I've been reading up on this for the last 3 weeks and I still have a couple questions that I haven't really seen a solid answer for specifically regarding the 1337m model.
1) If I root it would be nice to be able to reverse things should I need to send it in for warranty repair. I understand that triangle away isn't working on the latest MG1 firmware (which my device came with). I know that the ME7 update on the US version included a bootloader that no longer allowed downgrading firmware. Is this the case with the Canadian models as well? If it is possible to downgrade are there any special steps that need to be taken, or can I just flash a stock MDJ image via odin/heimdall
2) I have read the whole thread about the issues with the knox warranty void efuse. I checked the download mode on my phone and it does not have any of the knox info on it, so as I understand it, knox isn't enabled and therefore as long as I don't update to new stock firmware and I shouldn't trip the efuse. I have disabled auto-update in the settings. Is there anything else that I should do or be aware of to make sure that my phone doesn't update and force the knox stuff on my phone.
At the end of the day, if my warranty is permanently void, that's fine, but if there's a way that I can still keep the ability to restore my phone to 100% stock without tripping and binary counters or efuses I'd like to make sure that I know and understand how to do that before I start flashing custom roms rather than trying to figure it out in a panic if something goes wrong on my device.

[Warranty] Should I upgrade to 4.3?

Okay, so I just got my (i9500) device and binary status back to official after rooting my phone, dual booting, using various modules etc. in expectations that 4.3 is going to be released officially in the next 3-4 days.
Now, it seems like 4.3 firmwares come with a Knox-like feature called Warranty Bit.
My question is :
Is it worth upgrading to 4.3 at the risk of losing your Warranty forever (because face it, I am going to root it and flash things)?
I couldn't care less abt the new features, I'll be switching over to an AOSP ROM when a stable one comes out.
At 4.2.2, there's an almost complete possibility for me to revert to Official status IF anything goes wrong, but at 4.3 there's no chance at all.
thanks!
Bump.
Anyone?
For being honest with you and make it clear you dont have warrantly avoid if you do the update in 4.3 official (rom stock si).
If juste BEFORE you have erased your foot of course ans also custom recovery etc.
But if you try to root jour s4 AFTER doing the update THERE you woxnt have warrantly anymore !.
For make simple there you dont risks the risks is the following One if you do that and dont want to lose forever you warrantly you will be obliger to not FLASHING LR lther anymlre.
Personnaly i suggest you to pût a custom rom bases on the stock ondes...as Echoes the best i know.
I am on Android 4.3 actually with the MJ5 MoDem it s perfect ! Much berger chan the official ans i have not lose m'y Warta t'y..because the KNOW had ben removed in the rom...
Si in wlrse case i will juste have to Côme back to official statut.
Clipboard crashes 4.3?
I thought of updating to 4.3 myself but I noticed there were some concerns in Clipboard apps in Google Play about a bug in the 4.3 clipboad causing crashes.
From what I've heard I would actually wait till the next version comes out lol, I've heard things like battery temperature raises, camera faults etc... I' dont have a S4 yet but I've been doing a bit of research on them since I'm likely to buy one hopefully its not on the 4.3 version xD . But that's my opinion anyway
Even Iam thinking not moving from 4.2.2 on my s4.

If you have flashed custom firmware on your Samsung and installed the new KNOX bootloader, your warranty will be completely void.

[Q] To root s4 or no?

My question is in the title of thread? So i had an xperia sp, and i unlocked bootloader and installed a cyanogenmod and i had an warranty (broke my microphone) And they gave new phone to me, i hope that they will be stuipid in services if i somehow spoil my phone (god forbid (google translate)).... But never mind for warranty, probably i will install cwm and flash new roms cause i want to make more video reviews about roms kernels etc.. Also check out my channel on youtube if you want. Whats your opinion?
Well if you want to flash roms then you HAVE to root
Best thing I did was to root & flash this phone
4.2.2 original rom should equal to no knox enabled so root away. On the other hand, if you're worried about warranty and you're on 4.3.x or 4.4.x then your warranty is lost if you tinkle with it - Knox is going to be triggered and warranty is void.
Do the math and root awayall the same , and do take care about your phone there are much more benefits from rooting it, then not doing so

Warranty void? heeeelp!

Hi all, having issues with my phone still in warranty and want to know if it looks like it when i send back to samsung for repair.
With android 5 i rooted but lost root when android 6 came out and i haven't rooted it at all since, i just did the update via ota from my network provider.
If is warranty void what do they look at and what can i do to change?
Thanks
stu
You simply can't change it .
Once you root your device, the knox switch trips , it cannot be resetted back to 0×0 .
It was possible on note 3 n900 , but definitely not on note 4 (n910g)
If you are in India, don't worry, they dont check the download mode, they just check if there is a problem and fix it.
Why are you worried , if you don't have any problem ?
I rooted mine within a week after purchase .
Reporting via N910G.
my rooted note 4 didnt get ota in fone like it said i have rooted it so i cant get it this way then have to update with kies ... so if u got ota directly in fone then i think u r good to go to service center
Im in australia, im worried that if i send it in for repair and they say no then its marked on the system and it will never get fixed. Yes a remote chance it wont be checked but then it might.
I did see there is a nox reset thats not 100% but sometimes ok.
interesting for anyone else looking.
http://www.mobilecentre.pl/how-to-reset-flash-counter-in-samsung-note-4/
ill check back later today with the outcome.
That article mentions 'triangle-away' which only resets the flash count...nothing to do with Knox.
Even Chainfire thinks Knox is an unresettable eFuse. If you've tripped Knox, it's going to stay tripped no matter what you do.
You cant reset the counter. Sorry

Flashing Custom Rom

Hey guys,
I always used custom rom in my life, i was at Xperia Z1 and the stock was very bad... But with S6 i don't feel i need to get a custom, i enjoy a lot the Samsung work on the stock, but after looking the Miui 7, i really thought in flashing the custom rom.
So the question is... I saw that Knox and Samsung Pay will not work after the process, is there a way, later, that I can get back to original and get the Knox and Pay working again? My concern is about the security on Knox and the Pay when i sell the phone in the future, because I don't use this feature...
Thanks a lot if anyone can answer me!
Im no expert on android devices but from what I am heard you have to do a full factory reset to a stock rom and samsung pay will be enable but knox counter will still show that it has been tripped.
