But it doesnt help
Can anyone help me out?
I really hate msm thing since i expirienced it on my N4.
Did you try to change the governor to conservative? That worked for me in CM. The ondemand kernel went to full clock speed all the time...

I switched to CM10.1.3 RC2.
Gonna test for a day and will post results here.

The problem that I'm talking starts after battery goes below 90%. As I seen the faux kernel helps a bit but stock rom kernels doesn't help anything.

How many .35 kernels are available? I'm only aware of Umaro's and the stock CM kernel. I'm trying to achieve better battery life, so what kernel are you guys using?
So far, using Umaro's, I'm getting regular battery life, nothing special. Haven't tried the stock CM kernel.
Are they any other undervolted kernels available?

There aren't any others so far. Umaro's kernel is really good for battery life, however it's not up to date with the latest kanged nightly from yesterday.
Ahh, I see. Thanks for the info.
What cpu settings are you running?

Right now I'm using a kanged nightly with the "stock" cpu settings of 245MHz min and 1024MHz max, but with the interactive governor. With Umaro's kernel I had at 245 min, 1017 max and the Smartass governor. The smartass is pretty good on battery.
u made all the right moves all i would do is dim screen and keep runnimg apps low.
pimped out g2
btw pyromod 2.0 345 ghz min 1405ghz max on smartass. i fully charge bout 1 a day
pimped out g2
Pershoot released his kernel the other day pretty nice and smooth

Alright I'm sleepy so this will be in rambling form but...
I've tried Umaro's and I'm not sure if it was the undervolting (which I haven't looked into tweaking) but my phone kept stuttering no matter which governor I used. I was using Htcclay's Super CM7 1.8 with cpu set to 245/1113
I also used the stock kernel that's been on CM7 with no problems and average to good battery life (10-15 hours of active use: texting, browsing, few calls, and playing the occasional game)
Most recently I've used Pershoots which I had heard worked great. I myself love it. Almost same battery life as stock kernel but everything felt just a little bit smoother performance wise.
Here's a link to Pershoot's thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=847672
The stock cm kernel in my opinion is finally good enough that it doesn't need changed. I have always flashed pershoots and occassionally others, but it truly does not need supplemented IMHO.

I'm using savaged zen, and I get around two days of battery on a charge, with normal use.

You're running that on Vision? I can't seem to find it for our device.
Stock CM7 kernel here. I run 245/806 Interactive with automatic brightness. I've found that when wifi is on, keeping the cell radio @ 2G only works wonders. Wifi is set to sleep on screen off, but not when plugged in. 1 day 7 hours on this charge so far with 23% left. I would consider my use light to moderate.

I'm wondering where can I download the Umaro's kernel. I check out his github (https://github.com/umaro/htc-kernel-msm7x30) only to find out that the source is available.
Hello,
I'm running Ba2tf CM7 with the stock kernel and I was wondering if faux123's enhanced stock kernel 1.0ghz would be better in terms of battery life? I know that with the stock cm7 kernel you can't undervolt so would faux123's kernel allow me to unvdervolt a bit and still keep the phone at 1Ghz so the battery life would better?
Thanks in advanced.

I use that kernel, and you will get better battery life if you UV a wee bit.
I use this kernel also and am undervolted and get pretty good batt life. Ive tried them all and get the best from the enhanced 1.0 here are my settings

Hello,
In wich screen of setcpu do you put this value? Because i don'

i blve its the third tab over it says voltage
The difference in battery life between the 2 kernels is ever so slight, Faux beating out the CM7 by just a hair
Can anyone point me to where I can find this kernel?
thanks
thanks for yours answers!
I am running the same rom, and when i flash the bootloader, the phone boots and about 10 seconds into it gets very hot and locks up. Any suggestions. Thanks.
Im not an expert but it sounds like your phone does not like the custom kernel.
Is it a refurbished Atrix?
Don't think so, but don't know for sure. Just bought it from stumpyz964. Ill just try another. Thanks.
Hi all,
I tried lots of combinations to OC my i9023, without any results.
I currently have CM10.1 Nighly + Marmite 7.3.1, which actually seems to be the fastest combination for me.
Btw, if I try to OC to 1096 or 1320 it starts rebooting.
Everyone said me to raise voltage.
I'm using NSTools and it appears that Marmite 7.3.1 already has higher voltage for 1096Mhz and 1320Mhz.
Furthermore, there are two settings: ARM Voltage and Interal Voltage. Should I increase both of them?
Are there other people with 9023 which overclocked it succesfully? If yes, with which tool and voltage settings?
Thank you
I have my i9023 Nexus s OC to 1512Mhz STABLE.. no random reboots or something.. my battery goes easily one day even with lots of gaming.. I use NSTools.. (my snapshots are from SetCPU.. ;p )

With that voltage @1500 you will probably burn the cpu fast...i think. Maybe someone with better knowledge can advise you. But i wouldn't keep such a high voltage on my phone

On marmite i've never been stable on OCs, even with raised voltages. On matr1x kernel you can do 1320mhz without raising voltages.

I am using Hellybean (the latest 26/2/13) and my kernel is Devils's kernel NOT the latest but the 21/12/12 release.. this kernel is my favorite.. try it out.. works on 4.1.x, 4.2.x.

I really don't care about burning my cpu. I have my photos backed up with dropbox.. and I'm on contract with my carrier so I will get it fixed within a week..
Is there an official thread/page for Hellybean and for the kernel?

There is a thread on XDA for the ROM Here.. For the kernel there is also a thread on XDA Here, but I don't think that you will find that specific version, just download it from my attachment above..

I have tried it and set it at 1320 (with LIVE OC 110%) and it seems stable.
Why do you suggest that particular version? Have you tried new versions and they are not stable?

I have tried all the new Devil kernels and they are stable for every day use but not as fast and battery save as the older version.. This is my opinion.. I have my nexus clocked at 1400Mhz and then apply 108% LiveOC witch took me to 1512.. Stable..! (at max arm volt 1500 mV)
Hi
I was wondering why this was happening and what exactly is happening? I'm a noob at this flashing roms and kernel and duno why this would happen or what is it called?
See that major drop?. MY phone randomly reset for no reason and went from 9x% to 7x%?
Why?

This could be because a lot of things, you should provide a little more information about what you did to flash ROM or kernel, and would be nice some details about what you were doing when this happened.
Sometimes it is kernel related or because too much undervolting.
:good:
battery drain
I am currently using Paranoid Android 3.99.
I flashed franco 1.74.
I underclocked my cpu to 1000mghz
And i undervolted 75volts across all frequencies.
I wasnt doing anything processor intensive. I was locked my phone and tried unlcoking it and then it rebooted and drastically dropped my battery %. Since you told me it might be voltage issues i put the voltages back to previous stock voltage see what that does for me.
But do you have any suggestions on voltages to optimize battery life?
I just followed what I saw someone else said on a different post.

Well, it looks like and UV problem. Most of the UV related problems are easily identified because it seems that phone goes into deep sleep and then it cannot wake back, so the reboot happens. When you say that you locked phone and then tried to unlocked and rebooted, is clearly a symptom of this.
I would adivce that you first know which type of processor you have, there are 4 types I think:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2052496
It depends so much in which type you have, because fastest processors can UV more. I have had UV -150mV with no problems, but again, it depends so much about your CPU's type.
Also, you said you flashed Franco 174, I think there is a newer version, and flash a JWR kernel because PA is now JWR based.
How do I lower my touch frequency? Whenever I touch the screen immediately two cores jump to the highest frequency available which is 1267 MHz, I have the max frequency locked at that in general... So how do I lower it, or would this not help the battery? I am trying to figure out how to lower it to around 883 MHz for the purpose of saving battery? I am using Trickster Mod btw

Thanks will give it a try with this rom, usually doesn't help me with battery life but I will give it a shot! Will report back how it goes. By chance do you know how big of a difference letting the kernel and rom settle for a few days makes?
dunno... what are your expectations on battery life?
with dorimanx kernel the results are usually more noticeable after a charge or two

A minimum of 5 hours screen on time... But yeah guess im gonna have to wait a charge or two to see the full effects.
Can you suggest a good settings combination for battery life? Just flashed v5.0 of Dori:silly:
read a few pages back on dorimanx kernel thread, someone posted good overall battery kernel settings, but wait for an 5.x update because something needs to be fixed in alucard governor...
btw STweaks app also has preloaded profiles you can change if you don't want to fiddle with the settings manually...
have fun

I went about 10 pages back, could you by chance post a link or tell me what page number it was on? I saw screen shots on someones battery life but not settings.
i don't know the exact page, i'd have to search it too...
btw don't be lazy, you can test several settings in stweaks yourself. or use predefined ones... many people find the default ones good enough but not all of us use the phone the same way...
cheers
