I've got an i9500 that won't wake from sleep. I've reflashed firmware with odin. No luck.
Tried alternate battery, no luck.
Any suggestions?

i dont really get it... So your phone doesnt want to wake up.... but what do you do to make ur phone working again than?

Everytime the phone goes into deep sleep, it hangs. Battery must be pulled, or power button must be held until reboot.
If I leave it on the charger, it won't deep sleep, and thus will wake up. If I leave a music player playing in the background, even with volume at 0, the screen can be turned off and on as normal. With no background activity, as soon as the screen is turned off and the ~3 seconds have passed for it to enter deep sleep, it "freezes" and won't turn back on till I do what I stated above.
I feel like it's a hardware issue, but I wonder if I can fix it with software?
Or any other ideas, please!
Since I'm in the USA, Samsung Int'l won't do a warranty for me.

I've had the same problem with my 19005, i flashed it back to official stock firmware and the problems were gone.
Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 if u want to go back to stock.

I've flashed to stock Egypt and German firmware, a couple times, with data wipes in between.
No luck.
What version did you flash?

Downloading the latest firmware now, Nigeria. Going to follow the guide again.
I tried again, wiped data after flashing..its still hanging when it enters deep sleep.
Any more ideas anyone?

Got same problem. Device will reboot if enter deep sleep. it's will reboot immediately when screen time out. Already flash many variant of stock rom and costum rom but still no luck.I also use different kernel but problem stil persist.
playing song will avoid the problem.

i think this will be a warranty problem, because i did the following, go fully back to stock, including traingle away. after that my phone didnt had the problem anymore. but i still sended it back to samsung to be sure of the case.

Did u really bring it fully back to stock, like flash official rom through odin, root it again, use triangle away, and permanent unroot.

I flashed official roms through odin. I did root it again....I think? See when I rooted my Note 1, N7000, I used zerg-rush or whatever, which exploited code through adb and whatnot. But for this, all I did was flash Adam kernel, and I had root, and stweaks. But never did I have a triangle, which made me wonder. And I didn't ever need to do triangle away. I thought flashing back to official would remove root. But maybe I missed something. Like I said, it seemed too easy.

triangle away doesn't support the i9500 yet, only the i9505.
But I wonder why I've never gotten a triangle.

I never got the triangle to.. But the flash counter was still 6 and when u go to settings=> about phone you will see that it's says unofficial firmware, and if u try to update the phone it probably says you have modified yours.

Mine still says official. I've had download mode show "custom" when I had a different kernel for root. But after just a simple Odin flash, everything says official. No counter that I've seen.

Okay sooo.. I rooted my samsung galaxy s4 GT-I9505 awhile back and everything was going great. So I thought it would be a good idea to flash a custom ROM, which didnt go as smoothly as I hoped it would, so the phone had a soft brick which i solved by reflashing the stock ROM.
After some more time I tried to flash a new kernel to overclock, i followed the tutorial exactly but again it didnt want to work, and yet again i had to reflash the stock ROM.
This is when everything started to go wrong because i went to my moms house i downloaded the wrong stock ROM, it booted up but some things wouldnt work
e.g WiFi wouldnt turn on (it just said turning on, and never did), phone calls were buggy (after i entered the number and clicked call the screen would go black, and the notifications bar would flicker).
There may have been more but i dont know. The next day i went back to my fathers and attempted to reflash the correnct stock ROM whick caused the phone to boot up in a mode that said to connect to kies. rooting managed to get the phone to boot but it was the stock ROM that i put on at my moms house.
I then took it to repair shop because i didnt have a clue and he got the correct rom onto it but... the wifi and the calls still wouldnt work!
I dont have a clue what to do. and this is my last resort, if im missing info that you need let me know.

Hello I just go my S4 today. I downloaded goomanager because I wanted to install TWRP. It did not work. Now when I try to reset back to factory settings I keep getting a screen that says downloading do not turn off target. How can I fix this and get it back to the normal recovery mode?
i have no idea what carrier or device (i337 / i337m) you have.
when you got your device did you check in settings to see what build number you were running and then check out the material on xda before proceeding? there's ways of doing things that can save you headaches if you browse and read first. cheers
Dude, you pretty much hosed your new phone by not doing your home work before messing with it. I'm sure you're on mf3 firmware. Your best hope is to get it re-flashed at a bestbuy with the Samsung experience. You'll have some explaining to do! Good luck!

You can probably get it to boot by pushing vol down when it goes to download mode. But your recovery is messed up now.

I have the same issue. I manage to reboot the phone by turning it off, holding the power and volume down buttons, then when it asks if I'm sure I want to install a custom ROM, I hot cancel (volume down) and it reboots like normal.
Right now, I'm just trying to get mine back into ecovery so I can install CM

You're not going to be able to get it into recovery. Bestbuy is your best solution. Or wait until if and when an odin flashable firmware is available.
Im getting out of it that way too. But if I ever want to update or anything this will stop me i think. I can use it for now but I really want to fix it. nothing worse than having a phone for an hour and ****ing it up.

No, it has to be mf3 firmware and it's not currently available. Trying to flash an earlier firmware won't work. There is a qfuse in the phone's circuitry that is blown when mf3 is on the phone which won't let you downgrade.

Yea. I'm with you 100%. I'm searching for a solution myself. I had CWM running fine at first, and wanted to swap to TWRP for an easier interface, and didn't do enough research. If I find anything, I'll be back on your post to tell you how I fixed it

Sorry to say, but you'll be wasting your time. You'll find that there have been many, many people in the same boat for months now and the only current solution is if you can get bestbuy to re-flash it. They and att are the only ones who have the firmware available.

No, but you'll have to ask nicely and they may not do it if they see you tried to flash a recovery. Bring the phone in on download mode and tell them it froze while using kies.

Make sure they have a Samsung experience kiosk. Not all bestbuys have them
I took it to best buy with a samsung experience. Them and geek squad couldn't or wouldn't help me. They said to go online to unroot it and fix it.

if your recovery is still broken, nothing. you can use the Odin filed for MF3 or find the thread about someone who use a recovery flasher app to repair before doing the update.

Hey... I jacked up my phone installing a custom recovery with GooManager too. It isn't for our phone. To get back to Android from DL mode just do power button+vol up+home and it will send ya back. Take it to Best Buy and say Kies broke your phone. You were trying to run an update and it messed it up. They can fix it for ya. Obviously you're rooted so just delete Superuser.apk and delete all root apps. Just in case. And don't be a derp and tell them the phone was rooted... Good Luck.

I've just updated to version 5.0 and though in general the interface does look better. I'm not liking it. Pet hates are the way you cant see what the notification is or says unless you go past the lock screen and onto the home screen. And also my battery is now lasting a full day at work where before it would last me all day easily. How can I revert back one update?

Nope.
Do a factory reset from stock recovery (you must pull off battery).
VOL+ and HOME and Power buttons together to enter.

Yea, you need to pull the battery / boot to recovery > factory reset, happens to a lot of people after flashing with ODIN
"1)Start phone in download mode
2)Flash KK firmware.
3)Your phone will not start normally either. Bootloop guaranted. Don't worry.
4)Remove battery and put in again.
5)Do a factory reset from STOCK recovery
6)Flash again KK firmware
7)Phone will start normally, you can start customization and other stuff like rooting or daily using."

You can change the settings so that all notification contents are shown on lockscreen. my battery is the same if not better, too bad for you.

Hi, I'm rooted with note 3 n9005 Iv still got stock but flashed supersu a while ago and factory reset and it says there is no binary, this is a problem... or something like that. I want rot flags stock to unroot, I'm only 15 so can you explain in idiot terms of exactly how to do it with every detail and do I need to root again because iv factory reset. It says iv uplated so I have to update the binary??? Help pleaseeee

Mark, just download the latest software for your device (www.sammobile.com) and flash it through Odin. Once you have done that the device will be unrooted and completely stock.

Look at the pic I attached further up, my supersu is dodgy, so can I flash anything whilst it's like that?
You are going to flash a ROM via Odin, on your PC, what does dodgy SuperSU have anything do with that mate?
Mike, like devilsdouble said, you can flash via PC Odin as long as you are able to put the device into download mode, no matter what dodgy thingies are on it, since it will do a complete wipe. It will be stock, fresh and clean afterwards.

Good luck sounds like this isn't going to go too well... so basically plug phone into kies and back up, factory reset phone, download mode, go in odin, place stock in AP bit and go

Too bloody right, I'm stressed out my nut, I rooted it like a few weeks after I got my phone in like September, not knowing much (very stupid) and not knowing it voids warranty :/ my mam doesn't know, how can I tell her iv buggered my 600 pound phne, but it's not broke, I just keep thinking iv already broke it for some reason
You don't have to take the battery out. Just shut down the device completely, wait a few seconds, put it in download mode (volume down/menu/power buttons together), make sure Kies is not running (kill Kies back ground processes in task manager if neccessary) and fire up PC Odin, plug in your device, once connected direct to your stock rom in 'AP' and let it do it's thing.
After the 'OK' in Odin, your device will restart automatically, unplug it and run the set up.
NB....all your settings and personal stuff on internal memory will be wiped, so do back up before you start.
You did not break your phone, you just triggered an security flag that can tell you flashed custom software (root). On base of that samsung could deny warranty, but read around, there are lotsa cases samsung granted warranty with knox flag 0x1.

And also I heard that you can sometimes lose you data from the data plan because the sim can't tell the rom where to get the data, or is that if it's pure stock rom rather than in my case an EE stock rom note 3

Meant to quote you in one above ^ also on sammobile when I look up smn9005 it says mine is galaxy note 3 lte and I'm sure it's not...
I have a verizon galaxy s5 I rooted it with the help and guidance from xda members over here. The method I used to root my phone was this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...volte-t2879348 since i was already on NI2 I skipped steps 1. to 2.5 post rooting my phone everything was running pretty good for a few days without any issues but less than a day after I inserted a sim card in the phone it started randomly restarting so did a data wipe factory reset but the problem still persisted where my phone would would either randomly restart or go into a boot loop then I got the G900VVRU1ANI2_G900VVZW1ANI2_G900VVRU1ANI2_HOME.zip stock retail tar from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...42&postcount=1 and used ODIN to flash it but strangely even after I flashed the stock firmware it gave me the UNLOCKED logo at start below the Samsung galaxy S5 logo so I did another data wipe factory reset and now the UNLOCKED logo has gone but I'm getting a black screen after the Samsung galaxy logo. I can enter recovery mode and download mode my phone also gets detected in kies even with black screen.
I'm pretty freaked out and devastated right now because of the suddenness of this problem. I hope someone knows how to fix this issue.

The method I used to root my phone was this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/veri...volte-t2879348 since i was already on NI2 I skipped steps 1. to 2.5 post rooting my phone everything was running pretty good for a few days without any issues but less than a day after I inserted a sim card in the phone it started randomly restarting so did a data wipe factory reset but the problem still persisted where my phone would would either randomly restart or go into a boot loop then I got the G900VVRU1ANI2_G900VVZW1ANI2_G900VVRU1ANI2_HOME.zip stock retail tar from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...42&postcount=1 and used ODIN to flash it but strangely even after I flashed the stock firmware it gave me the UNLOCKED logo at start below the Samsung galaxy S5 logo so I did another data wipe factory reset and now the UNLOCKED logo has gone but I'm getting a black screen after the Samsung galaxy logo. I can enter recovery mode and download mode my phone also gets detected in kies even with black screen.
I'm pretty freaked out and devastated right now because of the suddenness of this problem. I hope someone knows how to fix this issue.

I would start back over. Go back with a full wipe NGC tar file, reroot and go from there.

The second one. It's full wipe but it is best to start fresh sometimes.

OK I so I flashed this https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23610159112652178 through ODIN as you said and now I am getting display after the Samsung galaxy s5 logo all the way to the main screen and although I was hoping that this would fix everything I was also kinda prepared if it didn't. So here are the issues I'm having now, the display is a little glitchy after the complete bootup and even a couple times in the recovery menu the phone is also rebooting automatically after it goes to sleep or if I press the power button to turn of the display and it then blacks out and reboots.

I'm not sure but even if it was does Verizon accepts warranty claim if the phone is without bill and not in USA?

Did you buy it from Verizon? There should be a warranty of some sort from Samsung.
Also, does this problem persist even without the sim card?

Well the phone was a gift from my uncle and I'm not sure where he bought it from but I'm assuming he bought in USA and yes the problem still persists without a sim card.
Also how can I check the warranty on this phone?

Probably need a receipt from the store your uncle bought the phone from.

So if I manage to get the receipt of the phone and it happens to be in warranty and I take it to a local samsung store do you think they will accept it even though it wasn't bought in USA?
Also do you think its a hardware issue or just a software issue as I have no display issues or any kind of other malfunctions when I'm in Download Mode.

Unknown about warranty but worth a try. I am assuming you are still stock NGC from your last flash. Maybe trying the latest lollipop would help. You need to root again. You can always go back to stock if it doesn't.

It seems that the display glitches are now appearing in Download mode as well.
I'll update the thread if I am able to get out of this hell I have gotten myself into by my own doing or if I decide to ditch the phone in its current state.

Thanks for the kind words man but either way I feel pretty ****ty and I don't think I'll ever root again.
I sent the phone to my uncle and he submitted it to verizon they accepted it and they repaired/replaced the phone.
