[Q] A500 in bootloop [Solved] - Acer Iconia A500

Hey guys!
A friend asked me to help him with his A500.
Somebody rooted his tablet and it was possible for him to flash different roms.
But now, the tablet stucks on flex-bootscreen...
So I tried to full-wipe and install a new rom. (short version)
Actually I tried "CM10-FLEX_V6Supercharged_Rev3.4" with this bootloader "V8-Thor_1.7.3_recovery.a500apx".
For the bootloader I used civato's tutorial with "A500APXFlash-Tool" and I got the bootloader installed.
Directly after installation, I booted into recovery and installed the rom - but same problem here... bootloop...
Yes, I've got the cpuid and the SBK and APX drivers are installed to my pc.
What the hell am I missing? :crying:
What I'm wondering about is: When I do "Wipe data" (Factory reset) in recovery, it looks like this:
-- Wiping Data...
Formatting /data...
Skipping erase of /data/media.
Error removing /data/app/com.eclipsim.gpsstatus2-1.akp! Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard.android_secure...
Data wipe complete.

Can you help me, please?
Best regards

My Solution
Hey!
Here is my solution:
1. Install Honeycomb 3.0.1 via "EUUs_SBK_Acer_A500_1.016.05_COM_GEN1.a500apx" (via A500APXFlash-Tool)
2. Now it is possible to boot the tablet into Android.
3. Allow USB-Debug (Settings - Apps...)
4. Connect the A500 via USB to your computer
5. Open Afterota 1.09 and let it connect with your tabled (follow instructions)
6. Go "Standart" - "Bootloader Ics v3.14.8 + Recovery Thor v1.7.3" For A50X (follow instructions)
7. Go and download "FLEX-Resurrection_Rev1-Aroma-Public": http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517181
8. Boot into recovery, do a full wipe and install Rom
9. Reboot and have fun!!
Optional:
10. When you get the android-bootscreen but with a flashing / blinking logo, do a Factory Reset and Wipe Cache.
11. Reboot and have fun!
12.When your internal storage is just ~150MB and not ~32GB (depending on your tablet), boot into recovery
13. "Backup and Restore" and click on "Toggle backup and restore of internal storage (/data/media)" -> should say enabled....
14. "Mounts and Storage" and "format /data"
15. Wipe and reinstall your rom.
16. Reboot and have fun!
Thanks to: civato, blackthund3r, handsome_rob1

I have pretty much the same problem but I can't download the "EUUs_SBK_Acer_A500_1.016.05_COM_GEN1.a500apx" with the flashing tool and also in the stock firmware lists in this forum cause they are locked
Does anyone know how I can download this??
I would prefer to use the flashing tool.
Thank you very much!

Please help me get my G2 back to running nicely :)

I have screwed with my G2 a bit too much...
I bought it 2nd hand with CM7, then I screwed with it a bit, loading different ROMs, trying (and failing) to put the DZ Hboot on it, and other things.
Now, I have CM7 back on it but with the wallpaper that has carried over from BlissSense and the USB connectivity that wont work, nor will Settings open.
Could anyone tell me how to COMPLETELY wipe my phone and start again?
ROM manager isn't working well either, when I try to install a new ROM it reboots but just freezes on the HTC splash screen and doesnt make it into recovery.
Well 2 options:
1) COMPLETELY unroot and start over with the wiki/gfree method to get a good root etc.
2) Simply run ROM manager, flash an older recovery (I'm assuming it wont boot into recovery because its on a 5.x.x.x bad flash). I recommend just flashing the 3.0.2.4 version. After that, download a new ROM .zip (CM7 or whatever you want), put it on your SDcard. Enter recovery, do a COMPLETE wipe, clear everything, and flash the new ROM.
Don't backup any apps or anything. Just start over from scratch with this new ROM flash.
are you able to get into recovery at all though? if you can, search up SuperwipeG2+ in the dev forum and run that. that should wipe your phone 110% so you can install CM7 again.

Thanks,
1) - I will try that after I try 2, but I will have to look it up cause I have no idea how to unroot.
2) Ok, I went into ROM manager and flashed 3.0.2.4, then i entered recovery, these are my options:
-reboot system now
-apply update from sdcard
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
-power off
What do I do now?
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. install zip from sdcard > seect ROM that I want
Ok, well I did this:
-Downloaded and put SuperwipeG2 on my sdcard (not SuperwipeG2+ cause I dont have GPS issues)
-Flashed Recovery 3.0.2.4 (Which was a downgrade)
-Rebooted to recovery
-installed from zip > superwipeG2
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-install zip from sdcard > CM7.0.3.zip
Now it is a real nice fresh CM7!
Thanks GUYS!
Can I ask one more question?
I ran the PC10IMG.zip update to give my G2 a Desire Z HBoot (which was sucessful, vr no. is now .84 where as the old G2 was .76).
But when I go to System > about phone > system memory = 370MB
And data mem = 1.05GB
So I lost the usual 300MB from data mem but didnt make the 200MB gain in system mem!!! what happened?

You are probably stuck on boot loop.
try this:
1. wipe data/factory reset
2. wipe cache partition
3. advanced ==> wipe dalvik cache
then reinstall the rom.
you need also to be sure that you have the right CWM partition.
Try to follow the instructions of the developer
I hope this will help you

[Q] [Need help please] formatted /sdcard by mistake...

Hello
I formatted /sdcard on recovery mode by mistake, was going to format /data, /system and /cache
now I lost all of my backup and ROM files and my N7 stuck at Google icon when reboot.
recovery and bootloader can still access....if that help.
Any way i can get my baby to boot up like it used to be? or How to put files back to N7? (maybe I can install the ROM if it's there?)
Thanks in advance >___<
First make sure you have the Nexus 7 plugged into a PC while attempting to start bootloader and choosing recovery. You might be able to do a factory reset from there. Wipe data, cache and dalvik. You may want to hit 'Fix Permissions' last just in case, then reboot. If you're familiar with ADB and fastboot you can find info on flashing stock images here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796. If neither of those helps you'll need to go to this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475, download and install the toolkit and choose 'Flash Stock + Unroot' with the option 'Soft-Bricked, Bootloop' (assuming that is still the case) checked. It will ask which image to download, pick the latest (4.1.2). You shouldn't have to relock the bootloader. From there it's just like stock so play with it as you like, just watch what you're wiping, lol.
Thank you very much!!!!
everything work now.

Fix camera sw issue (green noise)

If You have Rear camera that doesn't show picture and there is weird green noises and Tile pics from Front camera, here is how to fix it.
1) If You are on unlocked BL flash latest version (V8), with Pub recovery version 0.2 ( important part )
You need your SBK for flashing VIA APX flash tool, GUIDE (thanks to civato and blackthund3r) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622425
If You are on bl v4 or up you can flash it via CWM. Thread (thanks to Skrilax_CZ) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1619913
PUB recovery Ver 0.2, here (Thanks to Ezterry) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654476
2) Reboot in recovery mode.
3) Factory data reset.
4) Wipe cache partition.
Go to advanced
5) Wipe dalvik cache.
6) Wipe battery stats.
Return to menu and go to mounts and storage
7) Format cache and data
8) Format System and flexrom 2-3 time
Return to menu
9) install zip from sdcard, choose one of Civato's ICS Roms and then flash it.
Civato's Rom, Here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1969887
Great Rom, no problem at all, Thanks to Civato and Ezterry For Their great work.
Now reboot Your Tab.
It delete all trash files from previous Roms and Your camera goes back to normal mode.
Hope It help
Thanks man.
I'll try this as soon as i arrive home.
Do you know why such problem happens?
Since i rooted a500, this problem started.
Didn't work
It didn't work.
I really don't know what to do to fix this problem, otherwise, send it back to Acer.
this one worked for me, i get this problem last week and i think this happens because bad installation of SW.
Are you flashed unlocked bl V8?
try this. use thor recovery 1.7.3 and perform a real format
boot in recovery and format cache and dalvik cache and battery status.
then go to recovery menu, enter Backup and Restore and click on Toggle backup and restore of internal storage data/media
then go to Mounts and Storage and format /data-/system-/flexrom-/cache
keep in mind this will format data and you will loose all you have in the in the internal memory. (backup first)
install civato's rom (rev 6.2 available) and reboot.
see if camera work normal, flash pub recovery (stable)
if camera doesn't work you need to goes back to acer's original rom with acer's recovery and if it doesn't work again it is a HW problem.

I tried 4 times.
All the wipes and all the formats.
I have the unlocked bootloader v8
I did install Civato's rom, but still the same problem.
I'll try again later, and report here. If it didn't work, then i know it's a hardware problem.
Thanks man.

Did you drop yourr tablet or did the tablet has a hard bump on something? You may have a loose connection between the camera and the main board.

Not possible to do a complete backup under Recovery TWRP

Hello everyone.
I am new owner of an S7 Edge and so I root it is ok!
I have installed a recovery version 3.0.2.4 this is ok too but I have a concern to make a full backup.
1 - When starting recovery I have a screen that says "Installing zips or operations via adb may change the system partition".
2 - When I want to do a backup I have these 03 options that are checked.
Booting
System
Data
But when I drag to make this backup I have error messages
Here are the images to better understand.
I think I have forgotten something, could you orient me please?
Thank you for your help.
encrypted data...... so if you want do a backup try out flashfire......
Working fine with flashfire !!
But there is still the solution of real recovery?
How to decrypt the data?
To make a backup?
Thanx !
1. Reboot to TWRP, Wipe > Format Data > Type 'yes'. This will wipe all the data on your phone including internal storage.
2. Don't reboot, and flash either SuperSU or one of the zips from here (latest version would be preferred). Since you have to wipe your internal storage in the previous step, put the zip in your external sdcard beforehand or flash it through adb sideload if you know how to.
Be careful when flashing stock firmware with odin, as it will automatically encrypt your device again. After you flash stock firmware, reboot directly into download mode again, flash TWRP, reboot to TWRP, and then follow step 2.
Hi !
I will download a stock rom in case of problem and I come back to give the results.
Big thanks !!! :good: :good:
