Theres a mod you can zip to increase your overall volume I use it with smart volume app and tweak it to my liking.
Mod -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2306701
App-> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.directservices.SmartVolumeControl
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.directservices.SmartVolumeControlPlus
I'm already using the viper mod. It works great but I just want to get rid of this damn increasing ringtone without the app. I would love the zip if anyone has it or knows where I can get it. I don't want to change my Rom.
Isn't it this one on Sac's op?
That's what I used.

Yeah I tried that one and it didn't work. I think it was for the MDL Modem.
If you go to the Triforce rom thread, at the very top of the page above the op there's a download tab. In there is a zip for adaptsound.
There was an issue with ics theme breaking the mod so they put this fix up.
I don't know if it will only work on Triforce but you could always make a nandroid and then try flashing it. I'm mf9 and that's what I flashed.

Isn't there a build.prop way of disabling it?
I installed the xposed framework and wanam xposed. Wanam has an option to disable increasing ringtone and its worked well for me. Stock mf9 rooted.

I'm always used to using the volume buttons on my phone to change tracks but I can't do it on my S4 unless I flash a custom non touchwiz rom. Which I dont want tondo because it'll delete all the touchwiz features on my S4. Is there any way to change my music tracks using the volume or home button?

Sorry there's no way to do this on stock, that is why I'm running CM10.1 which can do all that you are talking about and more.
Will the features from roms such as CM 10.1, AOKP & PA be available on a custom Touchwiz rom?

you CAN in fact do it on a stock rooted rom.. if u don't know how to do it simply say so. but please don't mislead someone. to do it, just install xposedInstaller 2.1.4, and xposedtweakbox 1.4.0 then go to the misc section of tweakbox, enable it and then reboot.
Thanks!! Just what I was looking for.

Sorry guys I honestly thought there was no way, while I was on stock I was looking for an iron but I couldn't find it...
I installed all the software and followed the steps above, however PowerAmp still would not change track with the volume keys held down when the screen is off.
I'm using WanamLite Rom.
Hello,
me neither. I also tried the two apps, mentioned above, but won't work at all
hope someone will find a solution in the future
Still no solution to this?

Will that replace the Adam Kernel in my WanamLite firmware? Will it cause conflicts or issues?
Thanks in advance.

No, it's framework, not a kernel. Also you shouldn't have problems if your rom is aosp and deodexed.

Nope. Doesn't change kernel.

I think WanamLite is based off the stock Samsung firmware and framework. I don't think it's AOSP and I don't know what de-odexing is, apologies.
Just install Headset Button Controller from the market.
Its soooo good I bought it!

Xposed
Xposed framework works just as well. Just remember to enable the tweakbox under Modules tab in xposed installer.

Ya I tried the 2 apps u posted didnt work after rebooting twice but unchecked/unmodified everything that "I" checked/modified in the module except the volume then did a soft boot and that worked. idk if it was just all the thing i checked/modified or the soft boot or it just needed a 3rd reboot
I just picked up my S4 yesterday and am loving it so far (came from an ELTE). However, I would really like to map the long press of each of the 3 buttons to something else. The main things I would like to be able to access with the buttons are: voice search, in-app search and kill current app. I've searched around and haven't found much. Please let me know if there's a way to do this!
Thanks!
This isn't possible on a stock rom, but some custom roms have this ability, like Slim bean

Thank you for the reply. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I've rooted my phone, but I'm waiting until after the 14 day return period to flash a custom recovery/rom (so as to avoid any shenanigans if I decide to return it). I guess I'll have to wait until then for this functionality.
You can try one of the xposed modules. They work on stock rooted, odexed or deodexed. The latest one is available on the market called wanam xposed. Follow the instructions, you will have to download the xposed framework and install it before you run the wanum xposed. There is also nottach xposed you can find in the apps section in this forum. Not all of the features work for our phone but many do especially the new wanum xposed.
Won't modify the system files do the trick?

Hey dodgeboy...I came across your thread here while looking for the same solution to remap the menu key to long press kill app. I'm sort of noob on this stuff, but wondered if you can tell me exactly what you installed to make this happen? I'm on Stock Rooted, MF9, Deodexed. Hope this doesn't bug you. Thanks sir.
I've renamed every instance of poweron.ogg I could find, and I still get the book sound. Can you disable the sound by itself or do you need to swap out the entire boot animation?
if nothing works install xposed frameworks and use wanam module... it has that option and others

Should have mentioned I already tried that. Running the rooted stock ROM. Wanam works for some settings but not that one.

Cool, I had renamed them all and still got the sound, but then deleting all the poweron.oggs I could find did the trick. So what are the poweron.orggs in /spr or /vas etc?
The startup sound can be removed if you set the system volume to minimum.
Just fyi, on the Sprint version deleting the poweron.ogg in /system/media/audio/ui/xas does the trick.
Yahhhh Kennedy808.. We have a winner!!! Thank you that did the trick for my sprint note 3!
I apologize for re-opening this old old thread. The new path for the Sprint Note 3 on 4.4.4 NH7 is /system/media/audio/ui/SPR. Wanam doesnt work as its looking in the incorrect dir.

Just for the record, you don't need a custom rom for the Xposed Framework. It took me a while to figure out these were two separate suggestions.

Can someone please simplify it for me?
I'm not that familiar with mods and stuff.
I am using android 4.4.2 kitkat pure android from google.
Just tell me what to do to not have this message.
The thread is way too long!
Thanks!
You need to root your phone, which means unlocking bootloader. Then you can install xposed framework (a modification which allows plugins to your official firmware) Yak84 linked a module for the xposed framework which does what you want.

My nexus is rooted.
So I need to do install from sdcard for what file?
What's after?
I'm not familiar with mods.
Only flashing roms and gapps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401 That's the xposed framework that's been mentioned twice. It installs like a normal app, not from recovery. Once that's installed then you can install the module that disables the warning message.
Im a SPH-L720 user and I was wondering if there is any way to get the CRT screen-off effect on my phone. Im currently using this rom, and rooted.
Is there something I can flash or install? Or is this impossible?
Thanks!

There's also an Xposed mod called 'ScreenOffAnimations' that's nice. Has Crt and a few other options. Also has screen on animations and you can set the speeds of each. Check it out, I've been using it.
