Just for the record, you don't need a custom rom for the Xposed Framework. It took me a while to figure out these were two separate suggestions.

Yeah I well aware of that man, I meant you have 2 options #1 or #2
Thanks mate ...
It's way too long.
Can someone please simplify it for me?
I'm not that familiar with mods and stuff.
I am using android 4.4.2 kitkat pure android from google.
Just tell me what to do to not have this message.
The thread is way too long!
Thanks!
You need to root your phone, which means unlocking bootloader. Then you can install xposed framework (a modification which allows plugins to your official firmware) Yak84 linked a module for the xposed framework which does what you want.

My nexus is rooted.
So I need to do install from sdcard for what file?
What's after?
I'm not familiar with mods.
Only flashing roms and gapps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401 That's the xposed framework that's been mentioned twice. It installs like a normal app, not from recovery. Once that's installed then you can install the module that disables the warning message.

I just picked up my S4 yesterday and am loving it so far (came from an ELTE). However, I would really like to map the long press of each of the 3 buttons to something else. The main things I would like to be able to access with the buttons are: voice search, in-app search and kill current app. I've searched around and haven't found much. Please let me know if there's a way to do this!
Thanks!
This isn't possible on a stock rom, but some custom roms have this ability, like Slim bean

Thank you for the reply. That's exactly what I wanted to know. I've rooted my phone, but I'm waiting until after the 14 day return period to flash a custom recovery/rom (so as to avoid any shenanigans if I decide to return it). I guess I'll have to wait until then for this functionality.
You can try one of the xposed modules. They work on stock rooted, odexed or deodexed. The latest one is available on the market called wanam xposed. Follow the instructions, you will have to download the xposed framework and install it before you run the wanum xposed. There is also nottach xposed you can find in the apps section in this forum. Not all of the features work for our phone but many do especially the new wanum xposed.
Won't modify the system files do the trick?

Hey dodgeboy...I came across your thread here while looking for the same solution to remap the menu key to long press kill app. I'm sort of noob on this stuff, but wondered if you can tell me exactly what you installed to make this happen? I'm on Stock Rooted, MF9, Deodexed. Hope this doesn't bug you. Thanks sir.
not sure if theres anything out there for the 230nu? but I was curious if there was anyway to get the framework for this device, Ive never used exposed other than a slight dabble with it on my Galaxy Note i717 ! Anyone have any knowldege of this ? I am rooted , and I do have TWRP , however the TWRP I have is useless as it cant do anything! If theres another copy of recovery out there Id be willing to try that out as well, I dont actually use the Tab all that much , I have too much fun on my OnePlus One
I don't really understand your question all to well, but to my knowledge the Xposed framework should work on all devices. I have the 8" tab 4 and Xposed is installed as are multiple modules. The xposed framework is just an APK, which I believe makes it universal. Hopefully this helps with your question.
Just find the xposed apk, move it to your device and install the apk. Then you should install/update the framework and reboot your device. Should be completely done with everything after that besides installing whatever modules you want. I'd suggest checking the subforum for it and you should have all your answers there.
I've never used xposed before but I thought it would be easier than flashing a ROM. Where do I get it an SM-T230NU & what are the best modules?
Just search for the xposed forum on XDA and then you download it. I use wanam xposed module to kill camera sound and to do a few other useful tweaks and one or two other modules just for giggles like the hodor module.

There's a warning before trying to install the module. Forget exactly what it said but something to the effect of not compatible with the system.

The warning msg says "xposed is not compatible w/ android apk version 19 or your processor architecture (armeabi-v7a). Etc...
Pm me if you want me to email you the screenshot of the whole thing. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread... I just recently picked up a TAB 4 (SM-T230NU) and also am having some confusion on installing xposed. I am rooted, and using Android 4.4.2. When using the APK it will not allow me to install the framework, with the message "xposed is not compatible w/ android apk version 19 or your processor architecture (armeabi-v7a). Etc..." ...
Anyone able to help me on getting Xposed on this device WITHOUT updating my android version?

Same issue here on my SM-T231.
Hey,
Now that alpha 4 is out, I'm curious to know what xposed modules you are using and on what rom.
I'm new to Sony so I'm first getting to know my phone, before trying to customize it. The only module currently installed is true silent mode, on stock rooted 5.0.2.
What about you ?

How is the 20mp superior auto? Any reason why this option isn't available for stock? Does it put a strain on the hardware or something?

Took this picture yesterday. Works like a charm!
As to why this isn't a stock feature: I really don't know. It doesn't really put any extra strain on the phone performance-wise... At least, not that I noticed.
I have some noon questions, please be kind tried to find out answers on the forum but there is so much old & new information mixed up..
1) Is unlocked bootloader necessary for Xposed to install on lollipop?
2) Is bootloop really fixed now?
Thanks

I had xposed working on my htc 10 right off of stock, I froze somethings i shouldn't have and restored from my backup now xposed doesn't work. Wouldn't it have been odexed off of the start?
edit: I am dumb, system wasn't auto mounted so I had to mount it myself...
What is the correct method to install xposed on the 10 please? After a weekend of tweaking and restoring I have the 10 exactly as I want it and I don't want to break it again by muffing up the xposed install! Thanks!

Download sdk23 arm64 version 84, make sure system is mounted, and you have allowed write privledges (the swipe at the beginning of twrp, after cancelling decrypt). Then install as normal. FYI, between Xtended settings from playstore, and gravitybox from Xposed, you can really pimp out the stock rom.

I wouldn't recommend using Gravitybox since it's made for vanilla AOSP based ROMS which are currently not available for the HTC 10.
Reading through some of the dev's replys for Xtended Settings reviews are hilarious. Dude has no chill haha!

On the contrary, works quite well, quicksettings for instance, gravitybox is great for, I have all of these icons I used on the m9 now. Xtended settings give me the color icons for apm, something gravitybox doesn't, as well as long press back to kill. Give it a shot, trust me.
friendly reminder for snapchat users: on initial login, snapchat performs a check for Xposed and will block login if it detects it. to get around this, you need to login to snapchat BEFORE installing the xposed framework. Just to be doubly safe, you can backup your snapchat data with titanium backup, so that if you ever need to re-login, you can just restore the data from titanium to bypass the Xposed check.
Damn I didn't realise that. Already have Xposed installed - any other workaround?

quick question. it's been awhile since i've had to install xposed (i came from the M8). do i need the ".zip" and the ".zip.asc" files? (http://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/sdk23/arm64/)
Just the zip. Save to your sd boot into twrp, mount system a d flash the zip. Reboot install the apk.
Sent from my HTC 10 using Tapatalk
I cant't succeed installing xposed framework, i try many times.
I flash zip in twrp everything goes well but the xposed apk says that the sdk is not compatible yet.
This is the message
Search for Xposed for marshmallow... you are using the wrong version
hi danielexda,
i had this problem too. delete your xposed installer, switch of phone, wait a few seconds, switch on and search and use xposed installer 3.1.1.
than you can install version 87 (arm64) via download or as a zip.
good luck
