softbricked my n4 and cant get out of it - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good evening/morning
I got my n4 today and wanted to root it/put the latest stock rooted rom on it so i went ahead and downloaded wugz nexus root tool kit and proceeded to follow the steps
all seemed well until i flashed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010887
booted fine first time, after setup i rebooted and it didnt come back.
i thought it might be one of the apps i restored from google backup and so i decided to wipe data and start again
booted fine and i didnt restore any apps, instead it started updating the default google apps.
I rebooted and again it got stuck on the google screen.
I thought i best wipe system and data and try flash the rom again but it seemed to delete my rom from my folder.
I now cannot flash a rom, root toolkit now hangs when i try to push files or flash once it reboots and i cannot manually adb push to sdcard as it says the file system is read only
any ideas how to fix this as im at a complete loss.
i can still boot to bootloader and recovery but even the brickfix in the toolkit doesnt work

Follow this thread step by step. Ditch the toolkit. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183555

Do you have adb fast boot setup? If so, download the official Google stock images and flash them individually in fastboot

You can also download the nexus 7 toolkit here at xda. Its free and its awesome IMO. I soft bricked my nex7 once and fixed it good as new with the tool kit. Just follow the instructions for flashing back to stock. You can even do so without loosing root. Or you can unroot and re lock the boot loader if you like. Heres the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809195

The problem with using a toolkit is you learn nothing. If something were to happen again and the toolkit can't fix it, your're screwed.
Taking the time to learn fastboot commands will help get you out of pretty much any issue. If you want a longer explanation as to why I prefer people to use fastboot read here.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469909
I tryed both methods and wasnt successful i still can enter fastboot but am not that great with these sort of stuff is their a way for me to directly flash a rom from my pc to the tablet without me actually doing it with the tablet ... or a way for me to put the rom in the tablet because i am stuck and i cant put anything in the tablet

Does not go into recovery

ok first off i am using my first nexus device which is the nexus 7. i have recently unlocked and rooted it so that i can flash paranoidandroid onto it. i used the google nexus 7 toolkit 4.0.0 too. so when i hold down the volume rocker buttons, i get into fast boot mode. after that i select recovery but when i do that, it goes pixelated for a sec and a dead android guy appears with a explanation mark over him. I'm assuming it already has a clockwork mod but if not can someone please help me?
Check your app drawer for cwm. If it's not there download it from the play store, once installed open it up and flash it. Or go back to your toolkit and flash it .

CWM or ROM Manager. It's also unnecessary to hold the volume keys to get the bootloader; hold power until the Google screen (maybe not necessary), at which point you just press volume down.

well i went into the toolbox and flashed clock work mod and its still doing the same thing. any ideass???
Sorry I meant download ROM manager. I stand corrected. Thank you. Once it installs try flashing cwm from there. If that doesn't work you might have to go back to stock and start over.
Hope this helps

What's the toolbox? Use ROM Manager.

Yeah it still doesn't work
Does it boot up and function normal? Are you sure you have root?
I think you should start over. Try flashing stock 4.2.1. See what happens.
I am also very new to this. I really messed mine up twice. I had to start over time and time again just to get mine working.
Reading on here a lot of people don't like these toolkits. You have to follow the directions given to you from the toolkit to perfection or they don't work. Trust me, I learned the hard way.
I can't help with adb (I'm still trying to learn)
The toolkit will work. Like I said, try flashing a stock ROM. If the toolkit let's it flash then there is no reason it won't flash cwm.
Read the directions

did you delete the recovery-from-boot.p/ file? you would have to if youre using the stock rom, or the stock recovery will replace the custom recovery every time. use root explorer or a similar root file manager to delete it.
It'd probably be best to flash a recovery image through fastboot. You can find both CWM and TWRP in the dev section.

Also I noticed that it always worked if I plugged it into a PC. I don't know weird glitch I guess.

You could probably use adb to side load a ROM and gapps, here's a example of how to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317986
Thanks mates, fixed it by wugfresh

For future reference, select factory reset, not wipe data.

Isnt factory reset, just wiping cache and dalvik? If yea, then dirty install isnt the best, depends on rom that im moving from.

factory reset wipes /cache, and /data (without wiping /data/media <--thats where all your pictures and rom zips are stored)
factory reset is needed when moving between completely different ROMs (you can get away with dirty flashes between SOME roms, but its rare)
Oh yea yea, I didn't wipe the internal, something went wrong and the file was deleted, but gapps was there and all my data was there, anyways fixed and got the new nexus 7, enjoying it, much faster and better!

[Q] [Help] A different nexus 4 bootloop problem

So I got my nexus 4 less then a week ago. Then I tried not rooting it but I just couldnt resist, and than I got into a whole lot of trouble.
Basically I tried unlocking the bootloader without loosing data, this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41291371&postcount=28
And now Im in a bootloop, my bootloader is functional and unlocked, my recovery works but when I got into "install zip from sd card" it says that sd card cant be mounted, Ive tried cwm and teamWin and both have the same problem. Ive tried everything that came to mind:
-locking bootloader (fastboot works fine)
-changing a rom via ADB sideload (witch also works fine)
-changing recovery
-factory data reset and so on.
none of this works, storage is still not accessible and Im still in a bootloop (bootloop happens on a rom boot after the google logo). So Im suspecting that its bootlooping because it cant access sd card (It can access the system data)
Any suggestions? Ive never seen this happen, I cant seem to find anybody with a similar problem. Did I just ruin my 6 day old device?
Im scared as hell and pretty much out of mind.
Try to wipe data and cache.
Also try this if the above doesn't work.

If you erased everything you can either flash the factory image, my first choice, or sideload a rom in recovery
